5 II Features Central Manager System, CMS, is specifically designed and applied to the digital video recording System, DVR for short. In order to execute central manager for wide area, this system utilizes CMS to connect DVRs distributed over everywhere through network, easily replaces traditional Matrix, Mutiplexer in a lower cost, and composes a large Central Manager System. You can monitor through on-line network, finish all setups of this system and individual surveillance screen or options from remote, and select camera pictures from different DVRs without any limitation from remote image sources. Every CMS can monitor up to 64 pieces of 16CH DVRs, it is the best surveillance tool which offers the most effective solution to distributed, unmanned, centralized management of the shopping centers, supermarkets, factories and chain stores. Speed Integration This system combines with DVR s transmission compactly, integrates distributed, remote DVRs mainframe and camera lenses, and proceeds mass centralizes management through network. After the CD Disk is inserted into the CD-ROM, the installation program will set up KeyPro driver program first. When prompted, choose the option to finish whole installation. While the program remind you to insert KeyPro, plugging KeyPro into USB slot. Afterwards, this system will set up CMS software. When the setup program is completed, it will show Finish ; the user can see CMS icon on the desktop. 6

7 3-3 Insert the KeyPro Keypro s function is to respect copyright laws and regulations to avoid any copy of intellectual property in whole or in part in any forms. After finishing the installation procedure and before clicking the CMS icon on the desktop, be sure to insert KeyPro into USB slot. Notes : If the user pull out the KeyPro from CMS system and did not relocate it back to the USB slot in one minute, the system will indicate caution message and not allow any operation. Please relocate KeyPro into USB slot to operate the system constantly. 7

8 IV Operating Description After finishing the installation of hardware and software on Chapter III, we introduce how to operate the Central Manager System. 4-1 Profile Manager What is Profile The user can do set-up acion according to his own utilizing custom and operating fondness. To set up various environments in accordance with different purposes and goals and save it for convenient use in the future, that is the meaning and intention of the profile. So, the profile of CMS is the same. The user can configure the facilities and set up different environments in profile manager list, and execute New, Delete, Edit, Export, Import and Login instructions. When you click the short cut on the desktop and enter into CMS in the first time, you will see the Profile Manager screen as fig Fig.4.1 Profile Main Screen 8

9 4-1-1 New Profile Click mouse on New option of profile manager main screen, it will appear Profile Setup Dialog screen as fig. 4.2: fig. 4.2 New Profile Set up the Profile Name, Super Visor Password and User Password in the Profile Setup Dialog. The passwords for these two privileges can not be the same and each should be imported in twice; one is to set up, the other is to confirm. The configuration will be effective while these two passwords are the same, shown as fig.4 2 After the profile is set up successfully, new profile manager logo will appear on the Profile Manager screen, as fig Refer to 4-16 Procedures to enter this profile. fig4.3 New Profile Manager List 9

10 Notes Profile Name can be defined with up to fifty letters, but not for any particular marks. It allows the user to enter Chinese and English words only. Password Setup can be defined with up to thirty letters, numbers and English letters only Delete Profile If you want to delete profile in profile manager screen, click mouse to select this profile first, then click Delete buttons, the screen will appear password login, as fig It is because that only supervisor can delete the profile, please enter supervisor password to delete it. Fig 4 4 Enter Super Visor Password If the user enters the wrong password three times, the system will escape automatically Edit Profile Click mouse on certain profile you want to edit in Profile Manager, then press Edit button to edit existed profile, as fig

11 Fig 4 5 Edit Profile After clicking Edit button, the screen will appear supervisor password login This system only allows the supervisor to edit the profile.. After the password is confirmed, the supervisor is allowed to edit the profile, as fig.4.6. fig. 4 6 Supervisor Password If the user enters the wrong password three times, the system will escape automatically Import Profile The system allows the function of import profile for the user to execute the profile with other computers or use backup profile., It is necessary to have a.bkp file, which is the advance export profile before importing the profile. Click mouse on Import button and enter to the Import Profile as fig. 4.7 to select wanted.bkp file (as 123.bkp in fig. 4.7 ), then click open. 11

12 fig. 4 7 Choose 123.bkp file After Importing Profile, the Profile Manager Screen will appear the justimported profile, as fig. 4.8 ( 123.bkp) fig.4 8 Imported Profile Manager Export Profile It also allows export profile to backup environment setup and replace computers. Click mouse to select profile (as 123 file in fig. 4.9) in the Profile Manager Screen and click on Export button. 12

13 fig.4 9 Select Profile Enter supervisor password now. The screen will appear the address of saved profile if the password is accurate. The system allows the user to select the path (for example, saved on the desktop) and store up just-exported.bkp file which will appear in its site later (as fig. 4.10). Notes If the user enters the wrong password three times, the system will escape automatically. fig4 10 Exported.bkp file Login The system allows the user to select profile and login. After finishing the login procedures, it allows the user to browse monitors and configure inner detailed environment of profile. 13

14 Click mouse on selected profile in the profile manager screen and press Login button or click mouse twice to login this profile. Now the system will indicate login message. It allows the user to login with both supervisor and user passwords. For example, if the user login with accurate supervisor password, the system will inform the privilege notice (as fig. 4.11) and enter to main surveillance screen. fig Privilege Notice Notes If the user enters the wrong password three times, the system will escape automatically. CMS divided privileges into two levels, they are Supervisor and User. 15 When the user login profile successfully and enter into Main Surveillance Screen, the following screen will be viewed: Date & Time Log File(Status) Server List Playback Sequencer Quick fig.4 12 Main Surveillance Screen Monitor Full Screen Snapsho Setup Select Tag Option On the bottom of this screen, from left to right sequentially, are sequencer monitor, quick select tag, monitor options (4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 16, 25, 36 and 64-frame module), full screen, snapshot and setup. On the right side, from up to bottom sequentially, are date and time, server list, system recording file and playback. The four surveillance frame as fig meant the contents of four connected camera. The system supports up to 64 cameras connection at the same time. If a 64-frame screen is selected to supervise all cameras, the reference number and location for each camera are listed as below. 15

16 Click on the right top to escape main surveillance screen and back to profile manager screen. 16

17 4-2 Setup It allows the user to set up different environments in all profiles; for example, the user can set up different DVR (the server for CMS) and camera configuration, increase remote DVR up to 64 pieces to monitor wider area, delete unnecessary DVR, and modify the setup for any DVR. At the first time, click mouse left button on of main surveillance screen to set up remote DVR and enter to the sever setup screen, as fig fig Setup screen Add DVR Click button to add DVR, the system will indicate the dialogues of Server name (as fig. 4.14), IP, Port, Username and Password sequentially. Import them one after another. (Check remote DVR setup or seek advice from DVR supervisor to import DVR IP, DVR Port, User s Account and User s Password). This system allows CMS user to name DVR server without any limitation from DVR setup. In addition, all cameras for DVR are not limited to its setup; as a result, the user can name the server without any restriction from the image sources. 17

18 fig.4.14 Servername Setup fig.4.15 DVR Setup Option After the user finished the importation, there are some selected DVR server information shown on the right part of DVR Server Setup (as fig.4.15), shown as the maximizing figure below. This screen allows you to adjust Network speed, you can click the popup menu of Network and select one of the six modules, 56k, 128k, 256k, 512k, 768k and 1M for adjustment. We suggest 1M speed for LAN used in company or school for high-speed display. For ISP-ADSL or Cable Internet, please adjust in accordance with real speed. 18

19 It also allows the user to adjust camera quality, click the popup menu of quality and select one of these three modules, low, medium, and high, for adjustment. We suggest high quality; however, higher quality occupies more system memories and causes lower-speed display. Every individual DVR possesses the function of Remote Control. Check Enable on the mark on to monitor remote DVR and rid of for temporary cease., Check to open the rename function for each DVR or click mouse right button to name the camera directly on the camera screen. After finishing any setup or modification of every DVR, click mouse on button to save the variety of server Delete DVR It allows the user to delete DVR. Click mouse on selected DVR and press button in the sever list can successfully delete DVR Refresh DVR It provides the user a function to save just-updated information after he has modified different setup for each DVR. Please click mouse on certain DVR for updating listed in the server list, modify DVR contents on the right half court of the screen, and press button to refresh the information. After refreshing DVR, click button on the right top of the screen to escape. At this moment, the system will proceed DVR on-line automatically. After above-mentioned add, delete and refresh DVR modifications of server list have saved and escaped, and the system has proceeded on-line, the just-modified information will reveal on the screen. If there is any DVR out of on-line, this DVR will be marked a logo on the server list of main surveillance screen. 19

20 Notes When the system is proceeding DVR on-line, it depends on DVR sequence to proceed individual on-line. If there is any DVR out of on-line, the system will proceed one-minute continuous connection. If the DVR is still out of on-line, the system will leap to next DVR for continuous action Setup Camera Click in front of DVR in the server list, and all cameras of this DVR will be lined up. If the user clicks mouse on one camera, the screen will emerge individual camera setup as fig fig Camera Setup List Click mouse on each camera to set up name and sequencer time individually. (fig. 4.17) It allows the user to import camera name in the dialog of Camera name alias to. In order to be more convenient for the user to make out, the user can name the camera directly without any restriction from remote DVR. It also allows the user to set up Sequencer Time for each camera directly, from 1 to 120 seconds. fig.4.17 Camera individual Setup Screen 20

21 4-3 Main Surveillance Screen After the user finished or refreshed DVR setup (refer to 4-2 Setup), DVR will update on-line condition and enter main surveillance screen. Drag fig.4.18 Main surveillance Screen Click mouse on on the DVR server list in the right of the screen, you will find all cameras for remote DVR. Click certain cameras and drag them to the left frame, you can see the screen for each camera. It allows the customer to adjust location as he wishes by dragging camera screen in any frame module, as fig. 18., dragging cam5 to replace 123 camera screen of original channel 1 (CH:1). The other cameras are adjusted in the same way. DVR server list will display added DVR and individual camera and DVR conditions. Every camera for each DVR will correspond to the left frame screen of monitor options (red frame); with the same way, click any camera screen of left monitor options will correspond to right DVR camera in the 21

22 list. For example, as figure, select cam5 of server 1, the word cam 5 will turn white, and cam5 frame will circled with red; oppositely, click mouse on cam5 screen, the word cam5 in the DVR server list will turn white in the right column of the main screen. Click mouse on any camera screen twice to maximize the screen under all surveillance module; click directly on the camera screen twice to back to main surveillance screen. Multiple pictures with zoom adjustment The user can maximize and minimize the screen by clicking mouse on any camera screen, rolling the scroll bar of mouse, or key in + and - from the keyboard under all monitor options. Ten available display mode are Full, 250%, 225%, 200%, 175%, 150%, 125%, 100%, 75%, 50%. Fig are is in full screen module: fig Maxi Proportion (Full Screen) Camera Options Click mouse right button on any camera, the user will see some reference of this camera, as fig

23 Fig.4.20 Camera Options Every camera s reference shown at the top of this screen beginning indicates DVR number and name as well as its camera number. The user can set up open or close for each Camera, please click Enable to open the camera or Disable to close it in Execute popup menu. Besides, the user can also set up individual sequencer time for each camera. Available options are close, 1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 7 seconds, 10 seconds, 15 seconds, and others. If the user selects others, the screen will appear dialog as fig fig.4.21 Camera Sequencer Time Adjustment The user can adjust from 0 to 120 seconds up and down to set up sequencer time for this camera. It allows the user to click mouse right button on "Alias Setup to name each camera directly from camera screen. But the rename function is effective only under the condition of Enable camera name alias (refer to New DVR) PTZ Controller In addition, while singularly maximizing the image, the PTZ controller which includes Zoom in, Zoom out, Focus in, Focus out, Auto-Focus, and PTZ Speed options will appear on the right bottom of the screen, as fig

24 Auto-focus Focus out Focus In Zoom out Zoom In PTZ Speed fig PTZ Controller Notes Only the cameras of DVR provide PTZ function (Speed Dome Camera ). Above-mentioned options can be displayed only when the remote DVR has set up PTZ controller. Furthermore, PTZ controller can run normally only when the user of remote DVR has opened PTZ function. When the user modifies the options, not only the surveillance screen of the camera changed, but also effect the record result. If the user wants to escape main surveillance screen, click on the right top to leap, the system will back to profile manager screen Sequencer Monitor This Sequencer Monitor allows the user to set up three sequencer options of 1- frame, 4- frame and 64-frame. When the user select 1-frame sequencer, all monitors will play the images of the same camera sequentially. The sequencer system will continuously project from camera 1 to camera 64. If the camera did not connect with the channel, the sequencer will leap to next camera. (refer to 4-2. the sequence number of cameras in 64 frame module of main surveillance screen.) When the user selects 4-frame sequencer module, the main surveillance screen will alter to 4-frame monitor option module. The four monitors will 24

25 display the camera screen sequentially by following 64-frame sequence. (please refer to following detailed 64-sequencer display) When the user selects 64- sequencer module, the system will divide the screen into four sequencer parts by camera 1-16, 17-32, 33-48, and (in different colors). The screen of each sequencer parts displays in accordance with the sequence numbers of camera. (as the 1-16 yellow block in above figure, the screen display from camera 1 to camera 16 by following the red arrowhead. The rest color block may follow the same way.) While the user clicks mouse on 64-sequencer, main surveillance screen will switch to 64-frame screen under any monitor options. Every frame will display camera image by order. (The screen will leap when the image displays STOP.) Press ESC on the keyboard or click to end the Sequencer Monitor. In the version with TV-wall support, if the system can connect with four monitors at the same time, it could be expanded to be TV-wall by utilizing 4-sequencer and 64-sequencer modules. Main screen keeps unchanged, the other four monitors play 4-sequencer images for main screen by order. This function can distribute main screen to the other four monitors. The composition of these monitors could become TV wall. 25

26 4-3-2 Monitor Options On the left bottom of main surveillance screen are ten buttons, they are monitor options, shown as fig Fig 4.23 Ten Monitor Options The ten options are 4 splits, 6 splits, 8 splits, 9 splits, 10 splits, 13 splits, 16 splits, 25 splits, 36 splits, and 64 splits, default option is 4-frame Quick Select Tag Furthermore, the user could define the configuration of Quick Select from the ten options. It means that the configuration for every DVR and camera can be saved for next utilization under all frame modules. It also provides the function of saving some DVR and cameras at the same time for monitoring. That s the function of Quick Select Tag to reach the fastest and most convenient module and screen switch. 27 Quick Tag of popup menu and click mouse on, as fig fig Delete Quick Tag Rename Select Tag If the user wants to rename the tag, he or she can select the name from the popup menu and click mouse on Full Screen Click mouse left button on full screen, press space to back to main surveillance screen to maximize any surveillance frame to Snapshot Click mouse left button on Snapshot button to cut out all image snapshots in the configuration screen, as left fig below; If the user click mouse right button, it is necessary for him to select wanted single frame first, as right fig below. When the single camera screen is snapshooting, you could click mouse continuously and quickly on snapshot button to adjust the best angle for storage and to save it. The file for taking and saving snapshots is.jpg file. 27

They are the same as on the user s operating system; as a result, the date and time listed on all surveillance system are the same. The on-line date and time with its reconnecting status of DVR are displayed in system recording file. former records. It is convenient for the user to trace.28 System Recording File 28

30 fig Playback operation Snapshot Status Download (*.MP4) Zoom in Play Zoom out First, please click mouse on the left of the screen to select camera and record date and time (as fig. 30), when you select, the screen will open the directory of coming layer to display 16 cameras and then date and time, every 60 minutes is cut to be a time scale, click mouse on this time scale, DVD player will start playing. If the system didn t find any video files in that time scale, it will search forward continuously till finding the video file and play it. If the graduation under the display screen are red shows that there are video files in that time scale. You can also move the vernier under the graduation to broadcasting file ( red block) to play. The status under the screen shows broadcasting conditions. Following keys are usable while the image is playing Files download (Available time for each file is ten minutes, and will download to the same directory both in.cx2 and.mp4 format. The user can click local player and select cx2 in the access folder to play downloaded files. 30

31 Minimizing to 320x240 ( System default) Forward image-searching up to 60 seconds Pause Play Rewind Rewind image-searching up to 60 seconds maximizing to 640x480 snapshot Notes There is no video information found after forward or rewind searching 60 seconds probably. At this moment, the system will continuously forward or rewind search another 60 seconds till the information was found. 31

32 4-4-2 Use Local Player On the page of local player, mouse click to execute DVR Player program. Click viewed fig.4.31 DVD Player to open Index file. After opening the file, the logos below are Play Pause Stop back to the beginning maximizing minimizing Notes On the playback page of Local Player, click to download image file (*.MP4) and its corresponding index file(*.cx ) at this moment to pointed directory. Pay attention to put these two files in the same directory. General said, these two files records video information up to ten minutes. 32

33 V Other Information 5-1 Maintenance Avoid placing the system in a high temperature or a high humidity environment and also keep away from the place with frequent vibrations. Operate the system under stable voltage.
