3 Introduction This document describes new functionality for the software release for RL1600, RL2000, RL5000, FT5000, and RT2000 with both the XScale and X2 controllers for Canada. The differences described are from version Triton Systems of Delaware, LLC Page 3 of 18 September 21, 2010

4 Platforms Affected This release is for the following families: RL1600, RL2000, RL5000, FT5000, RT2000 (10.4 Display) with XScale and X2 Controller Hardware Support The following is a list of hardware supported by this software: Display: 10.4, 8, 5.7 Color VGA Card Reader: MagTek 215 Dip Reader, MagTek IS65 EMV Dip Reader or Sankyo ICT3K5 Motorized Reader EPP: Triton SP-05, SP-06, SP-07 and Sagem EPP Dispenser: TDM50, TMD1xx, TDM2xx, SDD, MiniMech, NMD50, NMD100 Printer: Seiko 80mm/60mm USB (X2) or Serial (XScale) Printer with or without Presenter Modem: Triton USB Modem (X2 only), MultiTech USB Modem, MultiTech PCMCIA Modem (XScale only), Triton Onboard Modem (RL1600 only) Software Requirements The following load files are included with this release: xd2cxcae2.4.2.tlf Full load file for 10.4 XScale RL5000, FT5000, RT2000 xd3cxcae2.4.2.tfv Full Load for 8 and 10.4 X2 RL2000, RL5000, FT5000, RT2000 xd3cdcae2.4.2.tfv Full Load for 5.7 X2 RL1600, RL2000 xu2cxcae2.4.2.tlf Update load file 10.4 XScale RL5000, FT5000, RT2000 xu3cxcae2.4.2.tfv Update Load for 8 and 10.4 X2 RL2000, RL5000, FT5000, RT2000 xu3cdcae2.4.2.tfv Update Load for 5.7 X2 RL1600, RL2000 External Dependencies The following feature requires Triton Connect Version 5.0 or greater: Use Triton Connect with SSL connection over TCP/IP Send EPP and Card Reader device info to Triton Connect IMPORTANT: If a parameter file (.tsf extension) was saved from a non-emv software release (prior to 2.3.2), then restoring parameters (Management > Terminal Status > Restore Parameters from External Storage) will remove the EMV applications. The update load files (the filenames starting with xu ) should be used to upgrade a terminal from a non-emv release rather than using save/restore parameters. 5 Description of Changes Minimize Partial Dispense This software release contains the feature to minimize partial dispenses by tracking the estimated number of bills remaining in the dispenser and not allowing dispenses of more than that amount. Important: When configuring the ATM, the ATM administrator must set the correct quantity of bills for each cassette when performing a cash replenishment. If a cassette quantity is not set, the ATM will go out of service with an error code 244: No document count. Note also that if the update load file is sent to an ATM that does not have the cassette quantity set, the ATM will go out of service and a cassette close will need to be performed at the ATM before the ATM will be able to process transactions. The cash replenishment must be performed through the Management > Terminal Close Functions > Cassette Close option. Please consult your ATM manual for detailed instructions on the cassette close operation. In the event a customer attempts to withdraw more than the calculated remaining amount, the following screen will be displayed: Note that partial dispenses can still occur due to a dispense issue other than running out of cash. 6 SSL Support This software release includes the capability to establish a secure connection with the ATM host and Triton Connect using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) capabilities of Windows. SSL can be enabled from Management > Terminal Configuration > Communications: Once enabled, option 1 (Host Address) will need to contain the host name. That same name will need to be defined in the user s certificate as the common name, or CN. When the certificate is passed to the terminal during the handshake process, the ATM will be able to compare the host name as defined here, with the host defined in the certificate. If these two pieces of information do not match the connection will be denied. Some notes on the SSL support provided by this software release: o The ATM supports SSL version 3.1, also known as TLS 1.0. o The ATM will verify all certificates in a chain. o The ATM will validate the following certificate fields: 1) Not before, 2) Not after, 3) Subject (Note: the subject of the certificate contains a common name (CN). This name will be parsed and compared to the host name configured through management functions). 7 Triton Connect VeriSign/RSA Secure Server VeriSign Class 1 Public Primary CA VeriSign Class 2 Public Primary CA VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary CA GTE Cybertrust ROOT ThawtePremium Server CA Thawte Server CA Entrust.net Secure Server CA Entrust.net Premium Secure Server CA, also known as Entrust.net CA (2048) If SSL is enabled at the ATM, then the ATM will always call back to Triton Connect on a secure connection. Triton Connect can also be configured as dial-up if desired. Note that Triton Connect version 5.0 is required to support SSL connection from the ATM. Security Update This software release includes the latest security update (version ). This will show up in the Management > Terminal Status > Configuration Summary report as: Startup Stage 1 Version: Startup Stage 2 Version: TCP/IP Keep Alives This software release adds the capability for the ATM to send TCP/IP keep alive packets every 60 seconds if Permanent TCP/IP connection is being used. Note: in order to apply this setting after loading the software release, the ATM must be restarted one more time. The ATM can be restarted from Management Functions by selecting Management > System Parameters > Restart Terminal, or from Triton Connect by selecting Terminal Manager > Terminal Data > Set Terminal Parameters > Status > Clear Error & Reset ATM. ATM Cassette Parameters/Totals Reset In previous software releases, the ATM could lose cassette parameters and totals if the ATM is booted without the dispenser cable attached. If this occurs then the ATM will maintain all cassette information once the same dispenser is attached properly. Triton Systems of Delaware, LLC Page 7 of 18 September 21, 2010

8 Note: Due to this change, if a dispenser is ever replaced in an ATM or a main board moved from one ATM to another, the dispenser must be reset using Management > Diagnostics > Dispenser > Reset Dispenser to Defaults option. Configuration Summary Changes The local IP settings and port settings, the list of all software components and versions, and list of all ad graphics have been added to the ATM s configuration summary report in Management Functions. Here is a description of each of the fields in the TCP/IP configuration report: Registry IP Address: n.n.n.n - This is the static IP address as configured on the terminal from Management Functions. Adapter Type: Ethernet - The type of adaptor from the adaptor table maintained by the OS. Adapter IP Address: n.n.n.n - This is the IP address recorded by the OS in the adaptor table. HW Address: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx - This is the IEEE MAC address recorded by the OS in the adaptor table Lease Granted = MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS - If DHCP is enabled, this is the timestamp recorded by the OS in the adaptor table when the lease was granted on the IP address. Lease Expires = MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS - If DHCP is enabled, this is the timestamp recorded by the OS in the adaptor table when the lease on the IP address is set to expire. Incoming Port: nnnn - TCP port used for Triton Connect. Outgoing Port: nnnn - TCP port used for connections to the host (will be 0 to indicate the OS should use dynamic port numbers). Subnet Mask: n.n.n.n - Subnet mask as configured from Management Functions. Primary DNS: n.n.n.n - DNS as configured from Management Functions. Primary WINS: n.n.n.n - WINS as configured from Management Functions. Enable DHCP: n - Flag indicating whether or not DHCP is enabled (1=Enabled, 0=Disabled). RTE Addr: n.n.n.n - Route entry from Management Information Base (MIB) IP forward table, maintained by IP stack. Can be multiple entries in this report. Host Name: TRITONX - Host name from IP network parameters, maintained by IP stack. Domain Name: xxxx.xxxx.xxxx - Domain name from IP network parameters, maintained by IP stack. Modem Error when ATM Configured for TCP/IP In previous software releases, if the ATM is configured for TCP/IP and there is no modem installed, the ATM will go out of service with a 136 (modem initialization failure) error until a host call is executed. This has been fixed to not go out of service at all on this condition. Rear Service Panel Changes For through the wall ATMs (FT5000 and RT2000), the rear service panel functionality has been updated to include the following: 1) Ability to manage cassettes. 2) Ability to save and restore parameters to/from external storage. 9 3) Ability to restore factory defaults. 4) Ability to select/change the screen file. 5) Ability to load software updates. Add Visa II ENQ/EOT to TCP/IP Protocol This software release adds new message format Triton Standard TCP/IP with EOT to be used with TCP/IP protocol. When this message format is used, the ATM will now require an ENQ at the start of the transaction, an EOT from the host after the message response is received, as well as send an EOT to confirm the transaction was complete. Ping Function This software release includes a Ping function to help diagnose TCP/IP connection issues. This function is now available in Management > Terminal Diagnostics > Modem/Ethernet: Selecting this option requires entering a valid IP address and the ATM will respond with a success/failure message. 10 Update EPP Firmware This software release includes an option to allow updating EPP firmware for the Sagem (RKT) EPPs. This function is needed if a non-rkt Sagem EPP is purchased and the owner wishes to upgrade to RKT. This function is now available in Management > Key Management: The firmware upgrade process is password protected. 11 Followed by: Once both passwords have been entered, the user is prompted to select the download source file: Triton Systems of Delaware, LLC Page 11 of 18 September 21, 2010

12 The browse dialog will specify filenames from an external medium with the extension.dwn. Selecting the file for update will result in the display of the following confirmation dialog: Upon pressing Enter, the firmware update file parsing process will be initiated with the following progress dialog: Triton Systems of Delaware, LLC Page 12 of 18 September 21, 2010

Error (state S), internal command fault, processing stopped at line L 4. Error (state S), internal memory fault, processing stopped at line L 5. Error (state S), cannot load production FW into test EPP 6. Error (state S), cannot load test FW into production EPP 7. Error (state S), FW load file incorrect for Triton EPP 8. Error (state S), EPP is not upgrade capable, call technical support 9. Error (state S), invalid serial number data extracted from the EPP 10. Error (state S), invalid serial number data extracted from the download file 11. Error (state S), download file FW version is older than the EPP version 12. Error (state S), failed to open download file Please consult Triton technical support if you encounter one of these errors during the firmware upgrade process. Reset EPP Function This software release now contains a function to reset the EPP configuration and erase all secure information in the EPP, including passwords and keys. This function is available in Management > Terminal Diagnostics > Keypad Diagnostics > Reset EPP Configuration:\ Triton Systems of Delaware, LLC Page 15 of 18 September 21, 2010

16 Selecting this function will require the operator to call Triton Technical Support to provide a response to a challenge string displayed on the screen (similar to lost password recovery). Once this function is successfully executed, the user must re-enter EPP passwords and master keys. Also, if a Sagem EPP is being used and RKT is enabled, the RKT feature must be reenabled and new host ID entered. Recover from Card Reader Communication Failures This software release contains methods to automatically recover the card reader in the event device communication failures occur. This issue could previously occur with certain versions of the MagTek IS65 card reader (part number ) with firmware prior to Rev G. This software release will automatically upgrade the card reader firmware to Rev G. Note that this firmware version does not affect any EMV certifications for this card reader. Updating EMV Parameters from Triton Connect Previous EMV software had an issue where changing EMV settings from Triton Connect may not properly apply the settings at the ATM. This software release corrects this issue so all EMV parameters can be modified correctly from Triton Connect. Note that EMV can only be initially activated at the ATM. Once EMV is activated it can be enabled/disabled remotely. Card Removed Prematurely Screen When EMV is enabled at the ATM, the screen displayed to the customer in the event a card is removed while the ICC chip is attempted to be read has changed. 17 Card Error Screen When EMV is enabled at the ATM and a customer uses a magstripe card or an ICC card with a bad ICC, the screen displayed to the customer to remove card has changed. The following screen will now be displayed to the customer: EMV Configuration Report The EMV configuration report in Management > Terminal Configuration > More Options > EMV > Terminal EMV Configuration has been modified to include the TAC values for each EMV application. Clear Ethernet Settings for DHCP When DHCP is enabled in Management > Diagnostics > Modem/Ethernet > Ethernet Settings, the current Ethernet settings will be cleared. Send EPP and Card Reader Device Info to Triton Connect This software release will now send EPP and card reader device status and firmware information to Triton Connect. Note that this feature requires Triton Connect version 5.0 or later. Auto Reconnect for Permanent TCP/IP Connection This software release includes a change for the terminal to monitor the permanent connection to the host and attempt to silently reconnect if the connection has been dropped. If the ATM cannot reconnect to the host, the terminal will go out of service with a 236 error and call Triton Connect (if enabled). Previously the ATM would not monitor the connection until a transaction or other host communication is initiated. Triton Systems of Delaware, LLC Page 17 of 18 September 21, 2010

18 Interac Software Authentication Requirement This software release contains the same software authentication included in the release. As in that release, if an older software version is installed then the main board will no longer function and must be replaced. User Aborted Transaction for Bad Card Read In previous software releases, a bad card read can cause the ATM to log the transaction in the electronic journal as a User Aborted Transaction. This type of read failure will no longer be logged to the journal. Known Issues Compatibility with Black EJ Module The software release is not compatible with the Black EJ module (part number ).
