1 6.0.1 Change log Release Date: 30 Apr 2015 This section identfies the differences between 6.0 and Licencing FlexNet Publisher licensing components have been upgraded from version to version This release re-instates Windows XP and Windows 2003 support for the license server Licencing FlexNet Publisher licensing components have been upgraded from version to version This release fixes an issue whereby the vendor daemon did not write FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications report logs correctly. This is corrected in vendor daemons built against version of FlexNet Publisher. N.B. This affects only license servers not clients The mouse wheel control of report paging and scrolling has been implemented. The mouse wheel now pages forwards and backwards through a report in print preview mode. If the vertical scrollbar is displayed then the forward mouse wheel rotation will move the scrollbar down by the small change increment until the bottom of the page is reached. At this point the next rotation will display the top of the next page. The reverse action is true for the backwards mouse wheel rotation. The mouse wheel now scroll forwards and backwards through a report in design mode if the vertical scrollbar is displayed Mouse wheel zoom in and out whilst the Control key is pressed has been implemented The keyboard control of report paging and scrolling has been improved. The Up, Page Up, Down and Page Down keys now page forwards and backwards through a report in print preview mode. If the vertical scrollbar is displayed then the Down and Page Down keys will move the scrollbar down by the small and large change increments respectively until the bottom of the page is reached. At this point the next Down or Page Down key will display the top of the next page. The reverse action is true for the Up and Page Up keys. The Control-Page Down and Control-Page Up key combinations now page to the bottom of the last page and the top of the first page respectively for a report in print preview mode. The Up, Page Up, Down and Page Down keys now scroll forwards and backwards through a report in design mode if the vertical scrollbar is displayed Action record numbering is incorrect after moving an action up or down and then selecting another action. N.B. This only applies when the 'Show record number' option is selected on the 'Setup-Actions Sheet' data sheet.

This only applies when the 'Show record number' option is selected on the 'Setup-Actions Sheet' data sheet An action record number is not shown after renaming an existing or new action. N.B. This only applies when the 'Show record number' option is selected on the 'Setup-Actions Sheet' data sheet Action record numbers are incorrectly added to actions when the 'Show record number' option is not selected on the 'Setup-Actions Sheet' data sheet. This behaviour occurs when an action is added, deleted, moved up or down, and renamed Licencing The use of the LM_LICENSE_FILE FlexNet environment variable is not disabled. The LM_LICENSE_FILE environment variable can cause extended checkout times if it contains a reference to a licence server which does not exist The wrong title appears for columns in the graph data grid view when viewing data for user programmed variables The Arial Narrow font is used instead of the Arial font in the reading mode and print preview toolbars. This causes an error if the Arial Narrow font is deleted from the system An error occurs when publishing reports containing pictures to PDF.

3 6.0 Change log Release Date: 18 Sep 2014 This section identfies the differences between 2013 v2.2.0 and A messaging facility has been added which allows users to actions, tasks and reports to specified recipients. The messaging facility has the following features: 1. Allows a user to use specify a SMTP server or Exchange server as the delivery mechanism for sending s. 2. Send notifications of outstanding or completed actions and tasks in text or HTML format to the action or task responsible person. Additional recipients may also be specified. 3. Send s in HTML or text format with one or more standard reports attached to specified recipients. The reports can be sent in either PDF, RTF or Word 2007, 2010 and 2013 format 1540 The number of custom fields per data sheet has been increased from ten to twenty. 702 Drawings associated with nodes can now be viewed in both the Nodes data sheet and the Study tree control An Action Numbers column has been added to the Study Records reporting database table An option has been added to the Study data sheet allowing the user to optionally edit the name of an existing action without creating a new action. In previous versions changing an action name in the Study data sheet would always create a new action An option has been added to the new Study Setup data sheet allowing the user to specify either single or double line spacing between study-causes, study-consequence, study-safeguard and study-action records when output to reports The maximum allowable name length has been increased from 240 to 254 characters The font size setting for the Study data sheet is now saved when moving between data sheets and re-starting the program An option has been added to the new Action Sheet setup data sheet allowing the user to specify whether the action number is shown with the action name in the Actions tree on the Actions data sheet An option has been added to the new Study Sheet setup data sheet allowing the user to specify whether the study record number is shown in the study grid on the Study data sheet The Study Record setup data sheet has been sub-divided into two new data sheets: the Study Sheet and the Study Numbering Modes If the study numbering modes are changed in the Project Wizard a warning message is issued about updating the existing cause, consequence and safeguard numbering. As this message is not relevant to an empty project it has ben removed.

The use of the Number column is deprecated as its starting value was inconsistent between the Actions table (1) and the Study table (0) The spelling user dictionaries are now stored in a version independent path under the Personal Folder The risk ranking output values (e.g. Cost Ranking and Safety Ranking) are now displayed in the appropriate color in the corresponding columns in the built-in study reports A person's address (if specified) must be in the correct format before a person's details can be saved Nodes are no longer expanded when they are selected or moved up and down in the nodes tree.on the Nodes data sheet Record up and record down hyperlinks have been added to the personnel, nodes, drawings, causes, consequences, safeguards, deviations, parameters and actions data sheets Context sensitive help is not shown when F1 is selected unless the focus is on a data sheet and not when the focus is on the corresponding navigation bar option. Context sensitive help is now also shown for the current data sheet when the focus is on the navigation bar and F1 is selected The default value for the Update My Documents content on program startup option has been changed to false. This option when set to true provides an automatic repair function for the default reports and sample projects stored in the user's personal folders. It has been changed to a default of false to reduce the program startup time Licencing FlexNet Publisher licensing components have been upgraded from version to version This release resolves an issue whereby a borrowed licence could not be returned in certain circumstances. N.B. This release also contains the feature combining the TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 protocol support in a single set of components. As a consequence of this change all the separate TCP/IPv6 installation features have been removed from the installation program Licencing The license borrow period is now restricted by default to a maximum of 30 days.

5 6.0 Change log Release Date: 18 Sep 2014 This section identfies the differences between 2013 v2.2.0 and Licencing Support for Sentinel HL (Hardware Lock) hardware keys has been implemented for the following platforms: Windows XP x86 and x64 Windows 7 x86 and x64 Windows 8 and 8.1 x86 and x64 The Sentinel HL hardware keys replace the original Aladdin HASP HL hardware keys used in previous versions of the software. Sentinel HL keys are driverless, that is they do not require the installation of an additional runtime driver A feature has been added to allow users to create user programmed columns in text column reports and user programmed variables in graph reports. A user programmed column enables a user to: 1. Create one or more VB or C# functions which are represented as a columns in the report. 2. The user specifies which columns to use from the current query as arguments to these functions. 3. These selected columns and the text style applied to the user programmed column are used as the arguments to the VB or C# function. 4. The function is then modified to use these arguments in code to generate a return value which is displayed in the user programmed column. The text style of the user programmed column can be optionally modified in code to change the display of the user programmed column according to the function arguments. 5. The function return value can be specified as being of type: String, Double, Int32, Int64, DateTime or Boolean. A user programmed variable enables a user to: 1. Create one or more VB or C# functions which are represented as a variables in the graph data group variables list. 2. The user specifies which columns to use from the current query as arguments to these functions. 3. These selected columns and the plot style applied to the user programmed variable are used as the arguments to the VB or C# function. 4. The function is then modified to use these arguments in code to generate a return value which is displayed as the user programmed variable. The plot style of the user programmed variable can be optionally modified in code to change the display of the plot line associated with the user programmed variable according to the function arguments. 5. The function return value can be specified as being of type: String, Double, Int32, Int64, DateTime or Boolean. Please note: user programmed columns and variables are granted execute only permission and cannot perform any other functions (e.g. file system operations).

The published reports are fully compatible with all versions of Word using this format (Word 2007, 2010 and 2013). Text boxes are published as both Word 2007 text boxes and Word 2010/2013 text box shapes in order to provide this compatibility in a single document Three new macros PageNumberEx, PageCountEx and PageNumberAndCountEx have been added. These extend the functionality of the original PageNumber, PageCount and PageNumberAndCount macros by allowing the user to specify a starting page number for the values displayed by the new macros in print preview mode An option has been added to the report designer allowing text boxes to be marked as being used for input when exported in RTF format. This feature makes it easier for the user to add text to a text box after export to RTF. This option has the effect of increasing the text object height inside the RTF text area to the maximum allowed by the containing text area. In a multi-line text box this is applied to the last line only. Please note that the new 'Publish to docx Format' feature is the preferred method of exporting to Microsoft Word. This method automatically supports editing of exported text boxes An option has been added to allow the user to specify whether empty cells are displayed between the last data row and the footer in text column reports. The current default is for the empty cells to always be displayed When a user generates default cost/severity ranking matrix, most severe combinations have lowest ranking, and vice versa Custom fields are not placed correctly on the Parameters data sheet When either the License Info button or the Users button in the License Configuration dialog are clicked, the program freezes and has to be stopped If the program is closed whilst the main window is minimised then when the program is restarted it may be difficult to restore the main window without deleting the current settings. The main window is now displayed maximised in this circumstance when the program is restarted An error message is displayed if a recent file is selected which has been deleted from the file system. The deleted file is removed from the recent files list An incorrect bitmap is shown for a drawing in the Drawings data sheet tree.

This scenario is caused by creating a study with the Deviations setup 'Display deviations as' mode set to 'Deviations' and then changing to the 'Parameters & guide words' mode part way through the study The Project Selection dialog does not have context sensitive help implemented.

This is inconsistent with the usage in the dialogs Repagination of an open report after closing a project causes an 'Object reference is not set' error to be displayed. An error message is now displayed warning the user that no project is open The import progress bar is shown on the Import dialog box when no import task is active. The progress bar is now only shown when an import task is active The License Configuration does not always appear centered on the main window.

Math errors now display a standard message box outlining the probable cause of the error A text column report with no visible columns throws an exception when it is published to RTF macro text is not displayed after an open print preview operation that fails with an error Invisible columns in text column reports are displayed when report data is exported to RTF using the 'File-Export Data-RTF Table Format' menu option When an associated template is removed from a report by de-selecting the 'Use template' check box the template locked setting is removed from all report elements when it is saved. This feature allows all report elements in a report based on a template to be edited once the template is no longer applied to the report.

The following issues may be encountered: auto-scaled axes will scale to plus or minus infinity and exception messages displayed when the graph report is refreshed, The x- and y- values of data points with invalid values are now modified such that: NaN values are set to 0,0, positive infinity values to the (maximum floating point value/10.0) and negative infinity values to - (maximum floating point value/10.0). This modification takes place before any auto-scale or drawing operations take place. The original value can be displayed by displaying the value popup associated with the data point. This data point modification is also applied to data points generated by the new user programmed variables feature, This method replaces the previous treatment whereby invalid data points were discarded for line and symbol plots. The new method has the benefit that: all data points are visible thus easily identifying errors in custom SQL queries or user programmed variables, and that the method is applicable to all graph types An error is displayed when publishing graph reports with more than one graph on a page and when the plot style uses a gradient fill An error message 'StartDoc printer call was not issued' is displayed when printing to the Microsoft XPS document writer is cancelled.

In conjunction with this feature a set of reports displaying the setup data has been added to the Setup data sheet. These are displayed by selecting the print preview toolbar or menu options The Import facility now supports import from the Access accdb format Support for communication between a client and a license server using the TCP/IPv6 protocol has been introduced The NetTCP binding has been added as an option to the bindings available for connections to the system Project Library Server service. This is the only option available for connecting to the new Project Library Differencing service. This binding is the preferred option as it offers much higher performance than the other bindings Language support for the Enterpr project library differencing feature has been added Functionality has been added to support the project library differencing feature The binding, host and port is now selected from within. This applies to connections to both the Project Library Server and the new Project Library Differencing feature. The Client Configuration program has been removed from the installation as it is no longer required toolbar buttons added to replicate the functionality found on the File- menu The new Project Library Differencing feature allows a user to display the differences between two or more selected project versions. Differences are listed on a 'version to version' basis with differences organized by table name, modification type (addition, modification or deletion), primary key name, primary key value, column name, original value and modified value. Differences can be displayed in either a grid view or a tree view. The grid view provides an 'instant filter' facility allowing the user to filter on any grid column value (e.g. modification type, table name, original value or new value). There are two differencing options: o Quick differencing allows the user to display all the differences between all the project versions associated with a project. o Difference selected project versions. This option allows the user to difference any number of selected project versions (for a particular project) against each other The new reporting facility allows a user to report on any table in the enterprise database (e.g. Projects, Project Versions, Folders or Users). In addition a set of tables is populated with differencing data from the current selected project allowing a comprehensive set of differencing reports to be created. A full set of enterprise reports covering a variety of requirements are created when the parent product is installed.

This ha been corrected. A warning message is now issued when a null or empty key value is encountered Spell-checker fails with missing ssce5232.dll The Spelling button is disabled in the Study Records data sheet when there is a single study record displayed and add new record is enabled. The Spelling button should be enabled in this state The recent projects list was not always updated correctly The project mode was not always correctly updated in the title bar The left-hand navigation bar was not always updated correctly according to the project mode The Project Startup dialog did not support the language translation feature The Risk Ranking Input Field 1 and 2 Values reporting tables do not conform to database normalisation rules. A single table, Risk Ranking Input Field Values, replaces these two tables. Any reports using the previous tables require updating Errors in numeric values are not trapped correctly. a message box is displayed instead of the error icon next to the input field An project checkout could be cancelled whilst the enterprise project in question was open in the application The view project version in some parent applications option did not mark the associated project as read only. This could cause an error when the project was closed or the automatic backup function executed An object reference error is displayed when adding a duplicate user administrative user using the Project Library Server Configuration program.

The report could not then be closed because the program thinks it is still repaginating. This has now been corrected 1318 The report designer does not check for data validation errors when the following operations are selected: - The window control Close button. - The window control Switch Window function. - The form Close button. - Switching to Reading mode from Design mode. This has the effect that any changes made in the current panel editor are lost No help topic is displayed for the Select Color dialog box - Custom - RGB tab when the Help button is selected.

The list now sizes to fit the available area and displays a vertical scrollbar if necessary. 56 If the user deleted a record, for example a Consequence, from the middle of the consequence list in the study grid, the numbering was not updated accordingly. The cause, consequence and safeguards are now re-numbered in the study grid when a cause, consequence or safeguard is deleted from a study record. In addition an option has been added to the Study record setup options allowing the user to select whether causes, consequences or safeguards are re-numbered by the parent study record or by the parent deviation when displayed in the study grid. 936 An error message is displayed when saving a new record in the study grid and one of the columns is a custom field used as a risk ranking input. The data is saved correctly but the change will not be added to the undo buffer. 937 The Study data sheet Sessions drop-down list is not cleared before re-populating after an Undo or Redo operation. This leads to an accumulating list of sessions in the drop-down list.

This replaces the previous behaviour where the user always had to supply the default values for the existing study records. If the user chooses not to supply default values the study records will contain empty values for any new risk ranking fields Creating a risk ranking matrix in a project with existing study records could generate empty risk ranking values in the study records in some circumstances. These empty values generated errors when editing the study records or generating a report.
