4 Install and Configure the Designer Verify the eclipse.ini file. The line to point to our Center: This will install Designer to default folder C:\IBM\Designer\v8.0. Go to the extracted folder and double-click on the installdesigner_admin.bat file. Extract the IBM Designer.zip file to C:\wpswork\PD\. -Dcom.ibm.bpm.processcenter.url= Go to Start > Programs > IBM > IBM Designer > IBM Designer 8.0 Start the Designer: User Action Menu Asset Tabs If you have problems connecting/starting IBM Designer, check for any log/trace files in C:\IBM\Designer\v8.0\workspace\.metadata\.log. 7 Admin Manage Users s See who's connected Toolkits - share library items across process applications Apps Install & Test Note the Asset Tabs : using the pcadmin Logon to the Center: Getting Familiar with the Center 8

5 Getting Familiar with the Center Apps In the Apps Tab, double-click an application to: Create a New Snapshot Export, Install in a Manage, Look at History Edit, Clone, Activate, Archive... 9 Getting Familiar with the Designer Start the Designer: Start Programs > IBM > IBM Designer > IBM Designer 8.0 This looks like the Center, but is a View that allows you to test applications using the Designer or Inspector views. 10

7 Running the HSS App in the PD Inspector View Click on the Run button (Yellow triangle): Highlight the New line under Status and then click on the Run button: 13 Running the HSS App in the Center... A browser should pop up with this screen: Click Next, Next, and Submit and the browser should close. 14

9 IID follows a loosely coupled push-pull model. The artifacts are pulled from the repository into the IIID workspace when requested.. PD follows a tightly coupled model. The artifacts that it works with are stored directly in the BPM repository.
