Because of this, it is recommended to encrypt the information exchange between the browser and server. To do this, you should manually configure the SmartGlance MRC website to use HTTPS protocol. For more information configuring SSL, see About security roles SmartGlance MRC supports three security roles: Administrator, Manager, and User. These security roles can be assigned to users and groups. You can view permissions for a user's or group's security role by using the Permissions option for that user or group. Administrator The user who belongs to the Administrator security role has the maximum permissions. An administrator can: Create users, groups, data providers, and reports Edit users, groups, data providers, and reports Delete a users, groups, data providers, and reports 36 Version 2016

Type a number (from 30 to ) and choose Frequency Type. Notes: Be careful setting Report Refresh and Data Frequency values. Setting them too high can significantly impact response time. For example, if Report Time is 10 minutes and Data Frequency is 30 seconds, and the report has 30 tags, the service is attempting to fetch 600 tags each time it contacts the data provider. SmartGlance Server stores 120 data points of historical data on the server. Because of this, the Report Refresh and Data Frequency settings also impact the amount of data displayed to mobile devices. For example, sending data every minute results in 2 hours of data at 1-minute resolution (1 minute x 120 data points. Sending data every 30 seconds results in 1 hour of data at 30-second resolution (30 seconds x 120 data points.) 8. Check Enable Start Time and specify a Start Time to send the reports beginning at that start time. If the Start Time is before the current time, reports start sending the next day. By default, Enable Start Time is unchecked and SmartGlance MRC starts sending reports immediately after report update. 9. Check Enable Backfill values on next update if you are using Historian data for a tag report and want historical values to be used to fill in the report. This allows users to see trends from the first report they receive. 10. Under Report Type, select Tag or Tabular. Where: Type is Tag, Title1 is Mixing Batch Process, Title2 is Area51, Description is This report shows the Golden Mixing Batch Process, ReportRefresh is 1,ReportFreqType is Minutes, DataFrequency is 30, DataFreqType is Seconds, StartTime is 10:30 AM, TagValuesPrecision is 6, Thousandseparator is Comma, DecimalMark is Decimal Point, DateTime is hh:mm:ss, OutpulXML is True, Tagdetails is Sample Data provider;simbot.silolevel;silo Level;>50:""RED""/:""WHITE""; Sample Data provider;simbot.outvalvepressure;outvalue Pressure;; Sample Data provider;simbot.intanklevel;intank Level;; Sample Data provider;simbot.silopressure;silo Pressure;; Sample Data provider;simbot.silotemp;silo Temp;;", Users is admin and Groups is Admin Group. Field-specific formatting considerations For Freq Type, Thousand Separator, Decimal Mark report fields, ensure that the value entered in CSV file matches with one of the list values. For example, the DecimalMark field in the CSV can have values only as Decimal Point or Comma, because these are the two values available in the respective list. However, the values entered in the CSV file are case insensitive. For the DateTime field in the CSV, be sure to use this formatting: Date/Time field value yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss yy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss dd/mm/yy hh:mm:ss hh:mm:ss MMM d, h:m:s PM/AM Device-culture Format in CSV file YYYYMMddHHmmss MMddYYYYHHmmss ddmmyyyyhhmmss YYMMddHHmmss MMddYYHHmmss> ddmmyyhhmmss HHmmss> Mmmdhms YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss[.nnnnnnn] [+ -]hh:mm (UTC format) If the value in the CSV file does not match any of the predefined formats, "yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss" is selected by default for the Date/Time field in the report. While importing reports, if any report parameters contains a comma (","), make sure to put that value within quotation marks (for example, MMM d, h:m:s AM/PM ). Version

59 Troubleshooting Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector Guide Issue: Can't access SmartGlance MRC website Possible Cause Some of the possible reasons can be: Solution Connectivity issues with IIS Issues with Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector service To rule out connectivity issues with IIS Verify that any other websites hosted by IIS are working. If Windows SharePoint Services are installed, fix any port number conflicts. Read more here (see "SmartGlance MRC and Microsoft SharePoint 2010 " on page 129). Analyze the error messages. If the error messages are generic, do the following: a. Open Internet Options. b. Click the Advanced tab. c. Unmark the Show friendly HTTP error messages check box. To rule out issues with the Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector service Make sure that the Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector service is started. Make sure that the DataReportConfigWS service is accessible through this URL: Issue: Reports not sent to SmartGlance API Solution Check the Wonderware System Management Console (SMC) log file for errors. Mark the Output to XML check box for the report that is not being sent to the SmartGlance API. The SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector service saves time stamped XML debug output files to an Output subdirectory within the Application Server s installation directory. The output is typically generated in the program files installation directory - <drive>:\program Files\Wonderware\SmartGlanceMobileReportingConnector. Version

60 Troubleshooting Determine whether your network requires the use of a Proxy Server If yes, configure the Proxy Server setting (see "Configure proxy server settings" on page 29) in the SmartGlance MRC Configuration tool. For tag data reports, verify that the Wonderware Historian Server is running. Wait a while after starting the Wonderware Historian Server to ensure that all the Historian components have started and are now running. Make sure that Firewall Application and Port exceptions are configured properly. Port Range to o o Used by WWMobileReportingConnectorService.exe Used by iexplore.exe to load the Connector Web page from Internet Explorer Note: SmartGlance MRC relies on Windows to provide an available port within the default dynamic port range for TCP/IP. The default range in Windows 2008 is between to This range can be restricted for security reasons. Get started here: Port 443 o Used for SSL Communication to the SmartGlance Hosted Server Note: Download and use CurrPort from Nirsoft to diagnose the issue. Learn more here: Issue: Reports aren't published on the mobile device Solution Make sure the report is enabled (checked) in the SmartGlance mobile application. Tap Refresh in the SmartGlance mobile application to be sure you have the latest results. Ensure that the report you are requesting actually has data to be displayed. If no data is available, the report may not appear. Mark the Output to XML check box for the report which is not being sent to the SmartGlance API. The Mobile Reporting Connector service will save a timestamped XML debug output files to an Output subdirectory within the Application Server s installation directory. The output is typically generated in the program files installation directory - <drive>:\program Files\Wonderware\SmartGlanceMobileReportingConnector For a tabular data report, run the SQL Query directly in SQL Server Management Studio to ensure that the expected results appear directly in SQL Server. For a tag data report, run a query directly against the Historian to verify that data is available and is being received in good quality (OPC Value of 192). Ensure that the registered user's address is designated to receive this report either explicitly as a single user or as part of a group distribution list. If the SmartGlance server is overloaded with information, it may cause a buffer overflow or timeout, and prevent the receipt of information by the SmartGlance server. Try reducing the Report Refresh and Data Frequency set for the report (see "Add a report" on page 48). Or, configure the MaxDataPoints value (see "Configure maximum data points" on page 132) so that smaller chunks of information are sent to the SmartGlance API. 60 Version 2016

61 Troubleshooting Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector Guide Issue: "Method not found: Boolean ISNet.WebUI.ISNetControl.get_IsMvc() " displays at login Possible cause Solution Because the SmartGlance MRC website relies on a third-party.net control, the.net framework may be referencing the wrong version of the DLL or assembly. Verify the list of DLLs and their file version numbers provided in the following table against the same DLLs in the SmartGlance MRC website directory. The default SmartGlance MRC website directory where these DLLs are stored is C:\Program Files\Wonderware\SmartGlanceMobileReportingConnector\ClientBin\MobileReportingConnector\bi n. Assembly Name Assembly Version ISNet.dll ISNet.ActiveReports.Exporting.dll ISNet.WebUI.dll ISNet.WebUI.WebGrid.dll If the files are present and the file versions are correct, check the Microsoft Global Assembly Cache (GAC) to ensure that another program has not registered DLLs with the same names. The.NET Framework by default will use these DLLs before looking at the default application directory. To check for DLLs with the same name in the GAC, open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\assembly. Go through the list and look for the DLLs specified in the table. Verify that the version numbers are the same. If they are not then there is a conflict between the originating software that registered these DLLs and WMRC. For example, it is a known issue that the Skelta BPM.NET Workflow product uses an older version of these DLLs and registers them in the GAC. If this is the case, install WSMRC on a different computer. Issue: "No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" displays at login Possible Cause Solution The Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector service did not have read/write permissions on the SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector installation directory. Ensure that the Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector service has read/write permissions to the SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector installation directory and all its subfolders. The default path for 32-bit system is <Drive>\Program Files\Wonderware\SmartGlanceMobileReportingConnector. Version

62 Troubleshooting Issue: SmartGlance MRC doesn't respond (Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 R2) Solution For Windows Server 2008 R2 1. Open the Server Manager. 2. Under Security Information, click Configure IE ESC. The Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration page appears. 3. Click Off. For Windows Server 2012 R2 1. Open the Server Manager. 2. Click Local Server. The Local Server Property page appears. 3. Click IE Enhanced Security Configuration. The Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration page appears. 4. Click Off. Issue: Need to verify that DCOM port 135 is open on Historian Server Solution 1. Click the Windows Start button. 2. In the text box, type: telnet <HistorianServer> 135 If the port is open, a blank command prompt appears. Otherwise, an error message displays. To show the number of records returned by a SQL Query Knowing the number of records returned by a SQL query can help you to test query performance and also diagnose any data constraints from WSMRC or the SmartGlance application. Follow these steps: 62 Version 2016

63 Troubleshooting Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector Guide 1. Create a simple SQL query for your data source. Try to keep the number of records small. For example, 10 records. 2. Verify that the report was created and successfully pushed to the SmartGlance mobile application. 3. Use the following example to customize the query created in step 1 so you can find the number of rows returned: -- Query to enumerate the number of rows returned by a SQL query for troubleshooting purposes SELECT * FROM (SELECT TOP 1001 ROW_NUMBER() OVER (ORDER BY UDA) AS RowID, -- << a column name is needed for the OVER portion of the function. Replace UDA here with your own column; You can also change 1001 to whatever row count is required. * FROM dbo.signalsnarrow -- this example used the Well Field Database. Change the table name here to your own accordingly ) AS Nested_Selected ORDER BY RowID Desc 4. Increase the number of records returned in the query to test higher row counts across multiple test iterations. For each test iteration, check the Wonderware System Management Console (SMC) Logger and confirm that WSMRC is sending the query. 5. Increase the number of records consistently to gauge a linear progression or decline of performance (such as loading times or timeouts). Issue: Need to set <customerrors> element in the configuration file Solution The <customerrors> element provides information about custom error messages for an ASP.NET application. You can set the <customerrors> element in the configuration file based on the following specifications: Required Attribute Attribute Option Description Mode On Off RemoteOnly Specifies whether custom errors are enabled, disabled, or shown only to remote clients. Specifies that custom errors are enabled. If no defaultredirect is specified, you can see a generic error. Specifies that custom errors are disabled. This allows display of detailed errors. Specifies that custom errors are shown only to remote clients and ASP.NET errors are shown to the local host. This is the default. Version

Sample queries for tabular reports SmartGlance MRC performs secure database queries against one or more data sets to aggregate the reporting content. SmartGlance MRC provides built-in support for retrieving data from the Historian provider using the Wonderware Historian provider. It also provides a generic SQL data source provider to allow users define their own custom queries for any SQL-based databases. This section provides sample SQL queries for tabular reports designed to be executed on various Schneider Electric products such as Corporate Energy Management (CEM) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The sample queries given in this section are based on the following assumptions: You are familiar with the functionality and features of SmartGlance MRC. The sample queries, although functional, should be used only for understanding and getting started on writing queries for tabular reports. The queries can be modified, extended, and optimized as per the specific implementation needs. Some queries have built-in references to specific date and time ranges which can be customized if required. SQL data providers based on each application's specific database have to be created. Getting started This section helps you get started on writing queries for tabular reports by taking a simple "Hello World" query as an example. Begin with the following: 1. Create a SQL Data Provider based on the default MASTER database of SQL. 2. Create a tabular report based on this SQL provider using the query given below: SELECT 'Hello World' AS Greetings, CONVERT(TIME(0),GETDATE()) AS TIME When you view this report on the mobile device, it has two columns (Greetings and Time) with values "Hello World" and current date and time stamp respectively. 76 Appendix Important recommendations When you design queries for tabular reports, please follow these recommendations: Review your queries periodically for performance improvements. It is recommended to: o o o o o Use Stored Procedures Avoid any reference to SQL #temp tables in the queries Use standard SQL performance tools to improve the query performance Verify the execution path of the query to identify the bottle necks Consider defragmenting and rebuilding indexes to improve performance o Consider reducing the original pool of data by archiving old data and only keeping current (30 day) production data Design queries so that the execution time of the query is always less than the set Data Frequency value to avoid having any negative performance impact. Design queries with optimum number of rows and columns to avoid any report display performance issues. You can add filters to the query to be as concise as possible. Do not use reserved SQL keywords such as EXECUTE, EXEC, and SET. This is not allowed in the SQL property bag to avoid SQL injections that can compromise authorized access to the database. Build a permanent database view for the database being queried to shift the query execution server side and maintain a centralized query definition. The database views for tables from various Invensys products will be kept constant or will be updated when the database schema changes. Therefore it is advisable to query database views instead of accessing the table directly. Use the "Start Time" option in SmartGlance MRC while configuring tabular reports. This allows you send the report data batch at a specified time. Thus, controlling and purposefully staggering the reports to fire at precise time interval can play an important role in improving the performance of the database. Sample query The following query on Wonderware Historian database shows how to make tabular report data appear as time series data by pivoting the data set. 76 Version 2016

The ibutton description values can be set using SQL queries while creating the tabular reports. This section provides examples of SQL queries for setting the ibutton description values. Sample queries The sample queries given below can be executed by putting them in the SQL query box of tabular reports. Important The query should have a minimum of four columns including the ibutton description. The last column of the Select statement is used as the ibutton description. The queries written for ibutton, Drill down, and Friendly URL functionalites should be enclosed within <Request><SelectStatement> </SelectStatement></Request> block. Sample query 1 If the table schema doesn't contain a column for ibutton description, it can be included in the Select query as shown in the query given below. <Request> <SelectStatement> Select 'Col A', 'Col B','Col C', 'My Text' + CHAR(13) + 'Second Line' AS buttondescription </SelectStatement> <LastColumnAsDescription>true</LastColumnAsDescription> </Request> 84 Version 2016

85 Appendix Wonderware SmartGlance Mobile Reporting Connector Guide It is recommended to use CHAR(13) in the ibutton description column for better presentation in the mobile device. Sample query 2 This sample query on Wonderware Alarm DB shows ibutton description as a result of joining two fields. <Request> <SelectStatement> select top 1 'Col A', tagname, 'Col B','My Text' + CHAR(13) + [TagName] AS buttondescription from dbo.v_alarmeventhistory2</selectstatement> <LastColumnAsDescription>true</LastColumnAsDescription> </Request> Enhanced ibutton queries All the sample reports for CEM, MES, Alarm DB and all other tabular reports can now have additional contextual information for each ibutton row or record including links to navigate to other reports. To learn about these features in general, visit the following website The following sample queries have been enhanced for use in SmartGlance MRC. SmartGlance MRC example for the "drill down" feature <Request> <SelectStatement> SELECT name, database_id, compatibility_level, collation_name + CHAR(13) + '!#Report Title=Other Report##Jump Report#!' AS buttondescription FROM sys.databases </SelectStatement> <LastColumnAsDescription>true</LastColumnAsDescription> </Request> Please note that: + is used to concatenate different strings together to make a single block of text. CHAR(13) is used to create carriage returns for better formatting in the ibutton text. The above query can be run against the MASTER database for SQL Server 2008 using the generic SQL Server data provider. Version

86 Appendix SmartGlance MRC example for friendly URL <Request> <SelectStatement> SELECT name, database_id, compatibility_level, collation_name + CHAR(13) + 'Drill down to the!#sky TEST=ABC G##Jump Report#!' + CHAR(13) + + CHAR(13) + 'Or click this!< ## SmartGlance link>! to learn more' AS buttondescription FROM sys.databases </SelectStatement> <LastColumnAsDescription>true</LastColumnAsDescription> </Request> Please note that: Ensure that the excel format for Friendly URL is enclosed between the less than and greater than symbols (< and > ). Since the SQL Statement is embedded inside XML tags, special characters such as '>' and '<' can be misinterpreted and may cause the query to fail. To avoid this, XML escape characters should be used. Following is a list of XML escape characters: Special character < < > > & Entity representation & " " Note: The XML escape characters end with a semicolon. Corporate Energy Management The Schneider Electric Corporate Energy Management (CEM) application records energy consumption from a single point in a manufacturing process to the entire energy usage of the whole manufacturing facility and associated office buildings. For example, it is used to monitor water, power and electricity usage. These queries are designed for use with CEM v Version 2016
