1 SWALLOW SCHOOL DISTRICT CURRICULUM GUIDE Curriculum Area: Math Course Length: Full Year Grade: 6th Date Last Approved: June 2015 Stage 1: Desired Results Course Description and Purpose: In Grade 6, instructional time should focus on six critical areas: (1) number and numeration; (2) operations and computation; (3) data and chance; (4) measurement and reference frames; (5) geometry; (6) patterns, functions, and algebra.
