3 Introduction The Veryx ATTEST TM IPv4 Conformance test suite is designed to enable quick and efficient testing of Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) as defined by IETF Standards (RFCs 791, 792, 950, 1122, 1812). Veryx ATTEST TM IPv4 has 120 test cases that comprehensively tests routers for IPv4 conformance. These test cases are organized into the following Test Groups: S. No Group Cases Sample Cases 1. To verify that the IPv4 system decrements the TTL value by at least 1 during Internet Header processing. an Internet datagram received with incorrect Header Checksum value. To verify that the IPv4 system initializes TTL while originating ICMP responses and does not copy the TTL from the packet that triggered the response. To verify that the IPv4 system does not generate an ICMP error message on receiving an Internet datagram with invalid Total Length. To verify that the IPv4 system does not generate an ICMP error message on receiving an Internet datagram destined to IP broadcast address or IP multicast address. receiving an ICMP Echo Request message with Source Route option in the IP header, reverses the return route and uses the Source Route option in the ICMP Echo Reply message.
