1 Prolog Converge Login INTRODUCTION Capital Regional District uses Prolog software to manage the CAWTP program. Prolog Converge is a Web-based project management application that allows efficient collaboration and communication between project team members. This tool allows the client, architects, engineers, construction managers and subcontractors to exchange information on items such as RFI, meeting minutes, submittals, filed administration, drawings/specifications. ACCESSING PROLOG The URL for accessing Prolog Converge is Internet Explorer is the only browser compatible with Prolog Converge. To get started, you need to login with the credentials provided by Prolog Admin (or someone from CRD). Password can be changed after login to the system. For Converge to work properly, do the following: Making converge.crd.bc.ca one of your trusted sites will alleviate some of the website access issues. Allow pop-ups permanently for this site. 2 Prolog Converge Login After login to Converge, you will be presented with list of projects that you have access to. Click on to login to the project. The user interface of Prolog Converge is made up of several sections. The Navigation Toolbar The Navigation Toolbar is the bar located in the side of the screen. The main purpose of this toolbar is to allow you to navigate between areas of Prolog Converge. You can navigate to another area by simply selecting the area that you would like to view. You can also log out by clicking the Logout button, which will return you to the Login page. Project: The Project area is where you create, edit, and read Prolog records for the selected project. When working with data in this area, you will be presented with a form view. Views and the Data Presentation Area The remaining portion of the screen below the navigation toolbar is divided into two sections, Views and the Data Presentation Area. The Views are found along the left portion of the screen while the Data Presentation Area is on the right. PAGE 2 OF 7 MARCH 2017
3 Prolog Converge Login Views: Views are listed on the left and allow you to organize data in pre-defined ways. The Data Presentation Area: This area displays areas based on the view selected. You can also use the toolbar options to perform the following actions: Quickly sort the data in a column by clicking on the Column Heading. Drag-and-drop a column to a new position in the grid by clicking the column header and dragging the column to the desired position. Group or un-group by a new column by dragging and dropping the column header to the box above the column headers. NOTE: Prolog Converge remembers the changes that you make to column order, grouping, and sorting. You can revert a view to the original layout using the Reset Layout button. In some Views, hyperlinks (displayed as blue, underlined text) allow you to drill down to additional data. Drilling down allows you to start at a high level and work your way down to more detailed data. To filter data, click the Toggle Filter button and a new row is created at the top of the grid. Simply type into the field which you would like to filter on, then select the button and choose 'Apply All Filters'. 4 INTRODUCTION: Project Files feature enables you to setup a centralized electronic filing structure for all the project documents for safekeeping and file sharing. The access to folders is restricted based the user s role on the project. Please make sure that you have Silverlight software installed on your computer. Contact local IT Administrator, if you need any assistance. GETTING STARTED This procedure assumes that you have already opened Prolog Converge and selected the project that you would like to perform document control functions. 1. Expand the Project Files and click on View Files. Prolog displays the Project Documents section similar to Windows Explorer. DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT FOLDER STRUCTURE A folder structure can be established in Prolog similar to the Windows Explorer. It helps you organize the types of files you want to make available to project stakeholders. Each folder can contain a number of subfolders and files. You are considered the owner of any folders and files you create. With the appropriate permissions, however, other users can view the contents of your folders and add files to them. By default, a newly created folder inherits permissions from its parent folder. 2. Click on the desired folder to view subfolders and files. To view the folders and files under the folder Click on the ( ) sign left side of the folder to see the subfolders. Click on the desired subfolder to see the files under the folder, see below. 5 CREATING FOLDERS With the appropriate permissions, user can create a folder or subfolder in the document management area. 3. To create a subfolder under any folder, select the folder and select and click on Converge displays Folder Properties window. 4. In the Folder Name box, type name of the folder you want to create. 5. 6 DOWNLOADING AND VIEWING DOCUMENTS Each file contained within the folder structure also has options associated with it. You can choose to download or view the file or review the properties associated with it. 6. In documents section, click on the Download to download the selected file. 7. Alternately, if you would like to download multiple files, you can select the checkboxes left to the file name and click on. You can use, to select or unselect all the files in the selected folders. UPLOADING DOCUMENTS Using the upload wizard, you can upload one or more files at once. 8. Open the folder you want to upload the documents to. 9. Click on the on the documents area. 7 10. A new window Upload Files will open. 11. Click on button to select files to upload or you can drag and drop files from windows folders to this area. 12. Select the files and click Open. 13. The selected will appear in the Upload Files window. 14. Click on the button to upload the files to Project Documents. 15. When the upload is successful, you will get the message as below.
