21 Common Task #1: Remove Duplicates 1) Open the Detail Report in Excel 2) Select all cells on the worksheet 3) Go to the Data Tab, select Remove Duplicates 4) Choose Unselect All 5) Select My Data Has Headers 6) Under Columns select your identifier 6/15/
22 Common Task #1: Remove Duplicates Results are sorted by Unique ID (Column A) or Last Name (Column D) The row conserved is the first row found You may want to filter the data before removing duplicates for different results The eternal question: is the result returned useful to my research? If not then you can go back and restart the process. 6/16/

25 Common Task #3: Creating Pivot Tables 1) Open a copy of the Detail Report in Excel 2) Follow the instructions for Task #1: Removing Duplicates 3) Select all cells on the worksheet 4) On the Insert tab, in the Tables group, click PivotTable, and then click PivotTable Excel will open the Create PivotTable dialog box 6/16/
