9 SITECO in France 9 Siteco is promoting its Road-Scanner MMS in France, meeting a great interest Many old and new customers require to test the system for the ERDF- GRDF and Municipalities mapping More tests and services have been carried out with the MMS RSC and processed with the relevant software package The results are successful, both in terms of quality and productivity. All drawings have been verified in terms of accuracy and and completness accepted by customers and delivered to the customers. 03/04/2014

10 The Mobile Mapping: an Effective Approach The on-site campaign is times more efficient ( instead of 0,5-1 km per day) 2. The post-processing phase is comparable: a 3-day survey requires 3 days for computing, checking, and delivering raw data (videos and point-clouds) 3. The drawing phase is the most man-hours demanding activity. Productivity of 1-2 km/day The whole process is more efficient, but the real great advantage is in terms of quality and control of the final delivery 03/04/2014

11 Case Study: Hi-Grade Mapping in Calais 11 The survey was requested by BPH-Calais, a local Survey Engineering Company The GPS conditions were good Before the survey some Control Points were installed and materialized with highly visible markers 03/04/2014

22 22 Outsourcing the Drawing Activity All the drawing activities were outsourced to Siteco s subsidiary in Bulgaria A skilled team with 6 years of experience carried out massive data-entry activities with rigid specifications and in compliance with a well-proven quality control process Object detection and geometry drawing, that still represent the largest part of the work, can be done while sitting comfortably in the office, by few operators The MMS gives the advantage of outsourcing the 80% of the tasks in Countries with very competitive job cost 03/04/2014

23 Whereas that 23 There are no miraculous recipes to dramatically reduce the effort passing from the traditional approach to the MMS There are no software solutions at todays that can assure the automatic object detection. An initial important investment is required to pass to the MMS technology 03/04/2014

24 Considered that The MMS approach offers: More advantages in terms of quality and quantity of the data produced, hence of productivity. The data are available for other uses/purposes More flexibility in managing and checking the drawing development phase. Lower costs of personnel and more control on the activities Less variables related to the weather conditions Gradual training to the personnel involved in the job, who will acquire more competences in the field, using new technologies

25 It follows that The traditional approach, that is no longer economically sustainable, will be replaced by the MMS technology in time The specifications, till now drawn up for traditional surveys, not "rewarding" the contribution of the MMS, will be updated and adapted to better exploit the MMS data The results for the implementation of the new technology will pay back the investment and the effort to start 03/04/2014
