What files can I send to Binder? Other Binder resources Technical Support Send to Binder in Content The Send to Binder option may not be available at your site. If you do not see the Send to Binder option in the Content tool, it is not available at your site. Send to Binder in Content If available at your site, the Send to Binder option would be available in three areas in the Content tool: 1. On the content module page, click the Send to Binder button.
2 2. When viewing a content topic, select the Send to Binder option from the drop-down menu of the content topic's title. 3. When viewing a content topic, click the Send to Binder button on the bottom left of the content viewer. Back to top
3 How to send to your Binder On the Send to Binder dialog screen, you have two options: (1) sign up for a Binder EduDentity account, or (2) sign in to your Binder EduDentity account. Sign up for EduDentity Account If you do not have an EduDentity Account, do the following: 1. In the Send to Binder window, view the Sign Up for Binder section. The fields are automatically filled with your first name, your last name, and your address from your D2L account. Optional: you can change these fields to your preferred name or a personal address. 2. Enter a password for your EduDentity Account in the Password field. 3. Click Sign up for Binder. 4. You will receive an from Desire2Learn at noreply@edudentitymail.desire2learn.com with "You're In!" in the subject line. In the message, click the Confirm your address link.
4 5. In the new browser window/tab, you should see a "Verify your address has been verified" message. 6. In the new Service Agreement window, check the "I am 13 years of age or older and accept the service agreement" checkbox, then click Accept.
5 7. A new pop-up window will appear that the content was sent to Binder. Click the View your Binder now link to go directly to your Binder account in a new browser tab, or click Close to return to the content topic. Sign in to your EduDentity Account If you have an EduDentity Account, do the following:
6 1. In the Send to Binder window, click the Sign in to Binder button. 2. Enter your EduDentity account password in the Password field.
7 3. Click Sign in to Binder. 4. A new pop-up window will appear that the content was sent to Binder. Click the View your Binder now link to go directly to your Binder account in a new browser tab, or click Close to return to the content topic. Forgot EduDentity Password If you have forgot your password to your EduDentity Account, do the following:
8 1. In the Send to Binder window, click the Sign in to Binder button.
9 2. Next to the Password field, click the Forgot your password link. 3. In the Forgot Password window, click the Send Reset Code button. 4. You will receive an from Desire2Learn at with "Password Reset" in the subject line. In the message, copy the Reset Code.
10 5. Paste the Reset Code into the Password Reset Code field, enter a new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields, then click Reset Password.
11 6. In the Password Reset Successful window, click Continue. 7. A new pop-up window will appear that the content was sent to Binder. Click the View your Binder now link to go directly to your Binder account in a new browser tab, or click Close to return to the content topic. Back to top How do I log out of Binder in D2L Brightspace? 1. Go to the Account Settings tool from the personal menu in the Minibar (i.e. where you see your name listed). 2. On the Account Settings tab, scroll down to the Binder Settings section. 3. Click the Log Out of Binder button. Note: a "Successfully disconnected from Binder" message will display at the bottom of the screen.
12 4. Click Save and Close. What files can I send to Binder? In D2L's Binder app, each student has a 2.0 GB file storage size. D2L's documentation provides a list of Binder supported document types. These file types can be sent to the Binder app: PDF Microsoft Office Suite: DOC/X, PPT/X, XLS/X Text files: TXT, RFT Web files: HTM/L Images: PNG, GIF, JPEG, BMP, TIFF These file types (and others) cannot be sent to the Binder app: ZIP files Database files (e.g. Microsoft Access.accdb) Video or audio files (e.g. MP4, MP3, MOV) Other Resources Binder overview for Students (2 min.) video Article 843 About Binder Back to top
