6 Ford Integrated Diagnostic System Overview: A PC based scan tool that utilizes a USB equipped PC, the Vehicle Communication Module and optional Vehicle Measurement Module to diagnose and perform software updates on Ford vehicles Hardware: Ford's modular tool strategy has two pieces of hardware: What s in the box: The IDS can be purchased as a VCM package that includes the VCM, USB to VCM Cable, VCM to DLC cable and one year subscription for VCM, IDS and access to vehicle calibration files.
