1 ESI[tronic] newsletter 2016/1 SEN Many new functions in ESI[tronic] 2016/1: Automated re-licensing Starting ESI[tronic] 2.0 version 2016/1 the annual re-licensing can be done automatically. To use the automated re-licensing, your device has to be connected to the internet. The manual licensing (USB-stick) for devices without internet connection is still available. 4 ESI[tronic] 2.0: Protocol epansion To avoid that protocol data can be lost in case of an unepected interruption of ESI[tronic] 2.0 (low batteries, power cut ), the column Protocol has been added to the Last 30 Vehicles menu. After such an interruption, by clicking on the right arrow, the already eisting protocol will be enhanced with new data. By clicking on the left arrow, a new protocol will be started for that vehicle selection. More details about this feature can be found by clicking on the Help button. ESI[tronic] 2.0: Vehicle Identification improvement ESI[tronic] 2.0 offers a wide range of vehicle identification possibilities. EFB batteries do however have very different constructions-dependent characteristics based on their respective manufacturers and models. These characteristics require special data with appropriately configured EFB test algorithms. Only with this adapted test methodology can reliable measurements be carried out on EFB batteries. If a faulty installation has occurred, you MUST delete ESI from the setup program and perform a new installation. Make sure no ANTIVIRUS is running.

6 ESI[tronic] News 2016/1 Installation instructions: Important rules that apply to the ESI/SD update process: ALWAYS make a new reboot of the PC before updating. Sometimes Windows keeps some dll-files open which will prevent the update process from writing all files to the hard drive and end up with a faulty installation that needs to be deleted. If a faulty installation has occurred, you MUST delete ESI from the setup program and perform a new installation. Make sure no ANTIVIRUS is running. In some cases, the antivirus will prevent overwriting of certain system files, which are needed for the update. Do NOT connect the USB cable to KTS 540/570 modules before or during an update.
