1 Introduction This document describes the data sharing model that TradeLens implements. It describes the data that various participants provide to the platform, how that data are shared with others, and what data a participant has access to. The Data Provisioning Obligations sheet defines the data that each Participant Type, by Role (see definitions below), must provide to the platform. Some of this data is mandatory, and some conditional (meaning it is to be provided if available in the Participant's systems). The Data Access Rights sheet defines the data the participant has rights to view / subscribe to. Note that this data will only be available to participants to the degree the data has been made available by other participants. The TradeLens is subject to change periodically, particularly around the release of a new version of the TradeLens Platform. are required to continue to meet their data provisioning obligations in compliance with the latest version of this. All participants are encouraged to review Data Access Rights periodically. Key Definitions Consignment Participant Contract Separately identifiable collection of goods tracked on the TradeLens Platform that are transported from one consignor to one consignee via one or more modes of transport as specified in one single transport service contract. Shippers, ocean carriers, terminal operators, inland transportation providers, government authorities, and other supply chain stakeholders interacting with the TradeLens Platform to provide and/or exchange information. A contractual agreement between a Provider and a for transport services. For example, a waybill and bill of lading are transport service contracts. Participant Types A TradeLens Participant will interact with the platform as one of the following Participant Types Cargo Owner Agent Ocean Carrier Intermediary Inland Operator Data Aggregator Customs Authority Financial Services A trade party that is involved in the commercial transaction of the consigned cargo. This participant can take various roles, such as importer, exporter, (original) shipper or (ultimate) consignee. An organization that is acting on behalf of the Cargo Owner for the transport, logistics, and clearance of cargo. Agents include freight forwarders and customs brokers. Global and regional operators of vessels that carry containers and cargo from load port to discharge port. An organization that is providing transport services, issuing a transport service contract in its own name, but subcontracting transport rather than using its own conveyances. A transport operator that provides inland haulage or feeder services. A party that is involved in loading and unloading of consignment cargo from modes of transport at designated terminal sites along the supply chain. s can be marine terminals and inland terminals. An entity that maintains and makes available supply chain data related to the consignment, generally that it has acquired from other sources The authority or agency in a country responsible for collecting tariffs and for controlling the flow of goods into and out of a country. An institution providing financial services related to the consignment cargo. Participant Roles Partcipant Roles are the possible roles a participant can play in the supply chain for a specific consignment. A participant can play multiple roles for a consignment. Seller Exporter Importer Origin 3PL The party selling goods or services as stipulated in a Sales Order Contract. The party to whom goods are sold as stipulated in a Sales Order Contract. The party who makes an export declaration, or on whose behalf the export declaration is made, and who is the owner of the goods or has similar rights of disposal over them at the time when the declaration is accepted. The party who makes, or on whose behalf a customs broker or other authorized person makes, an import declaration, including a person who has possession of the goods or to whom the goods are consigned. The party providing a consignment of goods as stipulated in a transport service contract The party receiving a consignment of goods as stipulated in a transport service contract The buyer of transport services as stipulated in a transport service contract The entity that provides third party logistics services for a cargo owner at the origin leg of a journey

In all cases an Ocean Carrier acts as a Provider When subcontracting one or more legs of the transport of the consignment (often when subcontracting inland transportation) When providing the consignment goods to the subcontracted Provider (often when subcontracting inland transportation) When taking receipt of the consignment goods from the subcontracted Intermediary When issuing a transport service contract, in its own name, to transport the consignment When subcontracting one or more legs of the transport of the consignment When providing the consignment goods to the subcontracted Provider When taking receipt of the consignment goods from the subcontracted Rail Operator When contracted to transport the consignment on the rail service it operates Truck Operator When contracted to transport the consignment on a truck it operates

All information provided to the platform and made available by the platform will fall into one of these categories.
