3 In 2015 the European Parliament adopted the European Commission proposal to create safer and more innovative European payments. The PSD1 was updated to PSD2 (EU Regulation 260/2012). The new rules aim to better protect consumers when they pay online, promote the development and use of innovative online and mobile payments, and make cross-border European payment services safer. In November 2015 the Council of the European Union passed PSD2. Member states will have until January 2018 to incorporate the directive into their national laws and regulations. In January 2016 DIMOCO was awarded a PSD1 license by the Financial Market Authority Austria (FMA) and the Austrian National Bank, passported it into all EU Member States. The PSD1 license will pass into a PSD2 license by January 2018.
