This allows simultaneous deactivation of all outputs of the electronic module. The function does not affect the process image of the outputs (PIQ). SHUT DOWN "H" output modules: Deactivation via High active, intrinsically safe switching signal. SHUT DOWN "L" output modules: Deactivation via Low active, intrinsically safe switching signal. NOTICE Note that SHUT DOWN "H" output modules and SHUT DOWN "L" output modules require separate switching signal connections. 2 Compatibility between predecessor and successor modules of the 4 DO DC17.4V/40mA SHUT DOWN "H/L" Replacement of the predecessor modules by the successor modules: 6ES7132-7RD21-0AB0/ 6ES7132-7GD20-0AB0 by 6ES7132-7RD22-0AB0/ 6ES7132-7GD21-0AB0 The break point of the predecessor modules was 11.0V / 40mA and the break point of the successor modules is 10.7V / 40mA. There are no limitations in terms of safety requirements. The current value I0 has been reduced from 132mA (predecessor) to 118mA (successor). Replacement of the successor modules by the predecessor modules: 6ES7132-7RD22-0AB0/ 6ES7132-7GD21-0AB0 by 6ES7132-7RD21-0AB0/ 6ES7132-7GD20-0AB0 The current value I0 of the successor modules has been reduced in comparison to the predecessor modules: Successor modules I0 = 118mA and predecessor modules I0 = 132mA. This means there are limitations in regard to safety requirements when the successor modules are replaced by the predecessor modules: When such replacement is made, you need to ensure that the current value II of the connected actuator is not exceeded. If you replace a configured successor module with a predecessor module, you will need to perform configuration again. Note In both cases (replacement of the predecessor module by the successor module / replacement of the successor module by the predecessor module) you need to remove the coding element from the terminal module after pulling the electronic module and mount the corresponding coding element when plugging the replacement module. 10 Actuator shutdown with an intrinsically safe shutdown signal (safety barrier) You can use an intrinsically safe shutdown signal to shut down one or more digital output modules. You do this by connecting the voltage of the safety barrier to terminals 4/8 (+) and 12/16 (-) of the digital output module. You can also shut down several digital output modules connected in parallel, depending on the maximum output current at the safety barrier (see the following figure). Remember that current Imax = 8 ma per digital output module. SHUT DOWN "H" output modules: If no intrinsically safe shutdown signal is applied, the digital output module operates with its normal functionality. 11 SHUT DOWN "L" output modules: If no intrinsically safe shutdown signal is used, you must enable the "Deactivate shutdown signal" parameter for the SHUT DOWN "L" output modules. 12 Actuator shutdown with 11 V supply from the WATCHDOG module The WATCHDOG module can supply up to 16 digital output modules each requiring 2 ma of current via an intrinsically safe contact K1 (e.g. Category 2G relay for installation in the Zone 1 potentially explosive area). You do this by connecting the terminals of the intrinsically safe contact to the Pi terminal on the WATCHDOG module and terminals 4/8 (+) of the digital output module. Connect the safety barrier and the (last) digital output module controlled by the switching signal securely to the equipotential bonding.
