This product is ideal for those clients with existing SANs that want to integrate BladeCenter cost-effectively, and without disruption to their existing SAN. QLogic 20-port 4/8 Gb SAN Switch Module The QLogic 20-port 4/8 Gb SAN Switch Module is the latest Fibre Channel switching option for the IBM BladeCenter. This offering allows BladeCenter integration with any open-standards-based storage area network (SAN), whether it is an enterprise open-system fabric functionality utilizing the full-fabric mode or the module with transparent switching functionality utilizing the Intelligent Pass-Thru mode. Overview QLogic 4/8 Gb Intelligent Pass-thru Module for IBM BladeCenter* (88Y6410) The QLogic Intelligent Pass-thru Module provides a fully interoperable solution for seamless integration of the Fibre Channel initiators to an existing fabric. The passthru module provides open, standards-based NPIV interface in IBM BladeCenter; it helps simplify SAN interoperability and scalability. QLogic 20-port 4/8 Gb SAN Switch Module for IBM BladeCenter (88Y6406) QLogic 20-port 4/8 Gb SAN Switch Module is a high-speed addition to the BladeCenter switch portfolio which helps enable scalability in SAN size and complexity while maintaining ease of management. The QLogic 4/8 Gb SAN Switch Module is a full-fabric Fibre Channel Switches and is available in a 20-port active configuration, enabling high-performances up to 2 Gb, 4 Gb, and 8 Gb per second SAN solutions. Note: When the I/O module is installed in switch bays 3 or 4, the internal ports operate up to 4 Gbps, and the external ports operate at speeds up to 8 Gbps. When the I/O module is installed in a Multi-Switch Interconnect Module, both the internal ports and external ports operate up to 8 Gbps.
