Agenda and Invitation (Version, October 24 th, 2011) Scope A sustainable European surface transport network needs construction technologies to deliver high performance infrastructure that provides added value to its users, improving the life standard of European citizens and enhancing industrial competitiveness. In addition, fewer resources should be used, being more respectful to the environment and allowing reduced operation and maintenance costs. This Workshop on Research, Development and Innovation in Surface Transport Infrastructure is hosted by Dragados and is organized under the umbrella of ENCORD ( by a committee including Dragados, Bouygues, FCC, Hochtief, Vinci and Züblin. The workshop aims at bringing together professionals in the infrastructure construction sector to: Exchange points of view on R&D and Innovation in roads, motorways and railways, covering both the construction of new infrastructures and the upgrading of the existing ones Identify future needs to be covered through R&D&I initiatives Speakers from clients, construction companies and engineering firms, research centers and ENCORD members will provide a context in which R&D and innovation in infrastructure construction can be seen under different lights providing ground for an enlightening discussion. The language of the workshop will be English with no simultaneous translation. Registration Previous registration is compulsory to attend this workshop.
