Representing the UK market in its Association sectors, the PPMA Group speaks with a truly representative industry voice. Whilst there are many common services across the group, each trade association has its own objectives and secretariat. These organisations aid international dialogue between machinery manufacturers and provide both market intelligence and an opportunity to join forces on cross border issues.

8 Lobbying and Engagement with Government Regulators A Voice for the Industry in Whitehall Any good Trade Association has a fundamental obligation to represent its members in the corridors of government and the PPMA actively works to achieve this. The current CEO has two years direct experience working in the UK Cabinet Office on reducing the burden of regulation on British industry. Regular meetings are secured with Ministers and their senior decision makers providing members with an opportunity to influence the future course of legislation. Approved Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO) and Close Relations with UKTI With increasing globalisation more import and export activities within the Processing & Packaging industry are being developed. The PPMA is an approved Accredited Trade Organisation (ATO) under the UK Government Scheme, which enables us to obtain grants for overseas exhibitions and missions. We also host regular inward and outward missions in support of our members strategy in several overseas locations. Alliances with other leading Trade Associations With greater strength in numbers, the PPMA is a founder and an active member of the Engineering and Machinery Alliance ( - a group of 12 similar associations who collectively represent over 1,000 SME s.
