12 Metadata with/ within a dataset one metadata record for one national dataset another for the service, often the WMS consists of several data packed together split up data - one metadata record for each file! - different coordinate reference systems, different formats, different extents etc metadata as separate files following gis-datafile metadata as a group of information in a GML file, based on iso metadata on each feature/object feed from other sources into the feature
