3 INTRODUCTION These guidelines outline the elements which make up the Optoscribe brand. They include all rules to create our communications and help you design and produce compelling materials with a degree of creative flexibility.

4 THE COMPANY Formed in 2010, Optoscribe uses its innovative laser direct write technology to manufacture 3D glassbased integrated photonic circuits for the telecommunications and data communications markets. These monolithic optical products are primarily used by high volume optical transceiver manufacturers. Optoscribe photonic integrated circuits are helping transceiver manufacturers cost reduce and automate their manufacturing process. The company is located in Livingston, UK and recently opened a state-ofthe-art manufacturing facility.

6 OUR BRAND Our brand is solid, our brand is fresh, our brand leads the way. The Optoscribe logo is made up of 2 parts, our progressive 3D symbol and our solid timeless logotype. Our 3D symbol represents the movement of light, it is distinctive and can be used in a variety of ways to create our look and feel. Examples of this can be found at the back of this guide

7 OUR MISSION AND CORE VALUES To deliver 3D optical coupling solutions to customers in the Datacom, Telecom and other advanced optical applications markets. Providing them with innovative, high quality and cost-effective solutions to support their customers next generation products. 8 OUR VISION To make Optoscribe s laser inscribed 3D waveguides, microstructures and optical sub-assemblies the technology of choice for all fiber coupling applications.

9 OUR TONE OF VOICE How we say something, whether in person, in print or online is often as important as what we say. We can be technical but be clear, we can be informal but never flippant, we are innovative without being pretentious.

10 OUR LOGO The Optoscribe logo is our corporate signature. It signals Optoscribe s ownership of a product, and should be used on all communications. Our preferred option is the primary logo on our grey background with the blue glow around it. PRIMARY LOGO (LIGHT BACKGROUND) Primary logo with tagline and glow, only to be used on white or light coloured backgrounds where the logo will be appear smaller than 55mm x mm. PRIMARY LOGO (DARK BACKGROUND) Primary logo with tagline and glow, only to be used on dark grey coloured background where the logo will be appear smaller than 55mm x mm. SECONDARY LOGO (WITHOUT STRAPLINE) Secondary logo without strapline or glow, only to be used on white or light coloured backgrounds where the logo will be appear bigger than 55mm x mm.

11 DO S & DONT S Our logo is an important brand asset and should be looked after. Single colour logo on dark background Single colour logo on light background If you are restricted to one colour for example on branded merchandise, there is a single colour logo that can be used. DO Use the O to measure the minimum size of the safe zone to be kept around the logo. Never use the primary logo with dimensions smaller than 55mm x mm. DON T OPTOSCRIBE Do not distort the logo in any way. Keep logo proportional when scaling Do not change the font of the logo Do not make the logo monotone Do not separate the type from the icon Do not change the colour of the logo Do not change the colour of the glow

12 OUR COLOURS Dark grey (PMS 426) is our predominant background colour, we have a highlight blue colour (PMS 299) for use in headings and some pull out copy statements. This light blue should be used sparingly, please refer to our examples at the back of this document. We also have a vibrant blue (PMS 7687) this colour is restricted to Icons for use on our website. 14 OUR IMAGERY Our images create the most powerful and engaging element of communications. We use a mixture of product images and more abstract styles to bring a professional feel. All images should however be relevant to the technology industry that we operate in, for example datacentres or optical cables.
