1 Medshield Medical Scheme Members Online User Guide ICK CLICK CL INTRODUCTION Medshield Medical Scheme s online information system is a tailor-made solution that provides you, our members, with convenient and easy access to information about your medical aid policy. On our website, you have many options such as tracking your claims, viewing your contributions to date or reviewing your benefits - our online system ensures that you have the information at your fingertips! This guide will help you to navigate through our online services linked to your specific membership

REGISTERING AND LOGGING IN > Open your internet browser and type in the Medshield Medical Scheme website address, on the address bar. > On the Medshield home page, look for the Log In Zone on the right of the page. > A new page will open up and the address on the address bar will change. Don t be alarmed you are still on the Medshield website. > Towards the right side of the page, click on the Member button. > Click Register now. 2 linked to your membership > You can now track your claims, view your statements, benefits, contributions and more. > A box will open, asking you for your membership > Enter your membership > Click on the Validate code button. 1 registered) ICK CLICK CL 0 > Open your internet browser and type in the Medshield Medical Scheme website address, on the address bar. > On the Medshield home page, look for the Log In Zone on the right of the page. > You will now be directed to the Create a New Account page. > Complete all the required fields. The system will only allow the address that Medshield has on record. To update your details call the Medshield contact centre on ! Step 9 > Once you clicked on the Activate button, you will be redirected to the Medshield website with a notice that your account has been activated. > You will receive another from member@medshield.co.za completing your registration. > This will confirm your username and password please keep this safe for future use. > Once the system has validated your membership number and accepts it, you will be required to select whether you want to register as a Principal member or a dependant. > Click on the drop-down arrow and select either Principal member or Beneficiary. > In the box next to the one you just selected, click on the drop down arrow and select the correct name of the dependant. > Choose a Username and Password of your choice. Once complete, click on the Create Account button. Step 8 > You will receive an from member@medshield.co.za with an activation link. > Click on the Activate button to activate your newly registered account. > The system will validate that all fields are complete and entered correctly. > Your account will be registered.

FORGOT YOUR USERNAME OR PASSWORD? > Open your internet browser and type in the Medshield Medical Scheme website address, > On the Medshield home page, look for the Log In Zone on the right of the page. > Click Forgot Password. If you choose the address button (Skip this step if you choose to use the username button in ): > Type in your address in the address box > Click on the Validate button The system will now automatically generate your username > Click on the button > The system will now send you an with your username and password Remember that the system will use the registered address to send an to your inbox with your password or username that you have forgotten! Address > You will be directed to a screen asking you to validate your username or address. If you forgot your username you can use the button. Validate your username or address. CLICK CLICK If you choose the Username button (Skip this step if you choose to use the button in ): > Type in your username in the Username box Validate > Click on the Validate button Remember that the system will use the registered address to send an to your inbox with your password or username that you have forgotten! VIEWING YOUR STATEMENTS > The system will confirm the address to which the statement was STATEMENTS > Click on the my statements tab at the top of the screen. > Select Open Statement to view the statement on your screen or statement to have the statement ed to you. Open Statement Username > Select the statement date by clicking on the drop down arrow in the statement date box. > Click on required statement Drop Down Menu Statement Date

6 4. VIEWING YOUR AUTHORISATIONS > You can submit an application for Chronic authorisation if you select the Chronic button and then click on the New Chronic Application box. Chronic New Chronic Application > Click on the my authorisations tab on the top of the screen. > A menu opens requesting whether you would like to view Chronic or Hospital authorisations. > Click on required button. > The details of authorisations for this dependant will be displayed. AUTHORISATIONS > A drop down menu will open, select my authorisations once again. > Click on the required dependant code to view authorisations for that specific dependant. Chronic Or Hospital Code

7 5. APPLY FOR CHRONIC AUTHORISATION Step 8 > The online Chronic application form will open. Follow the instructions to complete the application form. Chronic > Submit an application for Chronic authorisation by selecting the New Chronic Application box. > Click on the my authorisations tab on the top of the screen. > A drop down menu will open, select chronic application. New Chronic Application My Authorisations Chronic Application > A menu opens requesting whether you would like to view Chronic or Hospital authorisations. > Click on the Chronic button. > Click on the required dependant code to apply for chronic benefits for that specific dependant. Chronic Code

VIEWING YOUR CLAIMS 0 > Should you wish to know the reason why a claim has not been settled, you should hover you mouse over the remark codes column of that specific claim. > Should you wish to view the or statement on which the claim was settled, click on the date in the remittance column. Step 9 > Claim can be exported to an Excel spread sheet. > Click on the Export to Excel button. > Click on the my claims button on the left menu panel. My Claims Step 8 > The search can also be run according to the status of the claim. > Click on the status button, and click on All. > Click on the claim number to reveal details about the claim. CLAIMS > The claims screen will be displayed. > You can now search for claims processed within a certain period or search by treatment date. > The search can also be according to the practice number of your provider. > Click the practice number field. > To select a date range you can click in the treatment date box and a calendar will be displayed. > Select the date range.

9 7. VIEWING YOUR BENEFITS > To change the year, click on the drop down arrow in the year box. > Click the display button. Year Display > Click on the my benefits button on the left menu panel. > To view the benefits for a dependant, click on the drop down arrow in the type box. My Benefits > Click the display button. 10 8. UPDATING YOUR MEMBERSHIP PROFILE AND INFORMATION > When complete, click on the Update button to save the changes. Update > A page will open where you can view and update your details. > Update your details. Update your details CLICK CLICK > Click on the my info tab and select the my membership option. My Info Banking details are displayed on the bottom of the page. Banking details cannot be amended online. Please contact the Medshield contact centre on to change the banking details.

11 9. VIEWING YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS > To view details, click on the View button on the left of the contribution summary. View linked to your membership > The contributions and suspension details will be indicated on this page. Contributions and Suspension CONTRIBUTIONS > Click on the my finance button on the left menu panel. CLICK CLICK My Finance

VIEWING YOUR MEMBER CERTIFICATE > If you wish to view terminated membership information, select the Show Terminated arrow and the documents relating to this terminated membership will appear on screen. Show Terminated Appear on screen > Click on the my documents button on the left menu panel. > Once you have clicked on the required document, the document will open on the screen. You can print or from this screen. My Documents > You are able to view your membership certificate, tax certificate and statement here by clicking on the required icon. Required doc.
