3 How to Use MySupportAdvisor 1 What is MySupportAdvisor? The Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) has developed MySupportAdvisor, an internet site that will help connect people with organisations that provide disability services in South Australia. If you are looking for support, you will likely want to find out which organisations provide the things that are important to you. To help you with your decision-making, MySupportAdvisor links you with information provided by different service providers. You will also be able to see what other people have written about the services that they have used. Everyone is able to use and submit a review to MySupportAdvisor. If submitting a review, once it has been approved by DCSI, it will appear on MySupportAdvisor. Within DCSI, staff from Funds Management at Disability SA are responsible for MySupportAdvisor system administration, including moderating reviews. 2 How to Contact Us We hope that you will find MySupportAdvisor a useful way to access information about services. For more information about the system, you can us by clicking on the Contact Us menu button. This will create a new for you addressed to MySupportAdvisor@dcsi.sa.gov.au. P a g e 1

4 3 How to Write Reviews After finding a service you wish to write a review about, select the Write a review button as shown below: Or you can select the Write a review button further down on the same page, here: P a g e 2

5 The Write a review button will open the following screen: The following table describes what you can enter into the Write a review fields: Field Description Title Description Rating The Title will appear at the top of your review and will be used in all the system generated s. Please create a Title that summarises your review. Your review is described in this field. Try to be clear about the recent service that you received from this organisation. Make sure you follow the terms of the Acceptable Use Policy. The number of stars is how you well you rate the service: 5 stars means Excellent P a g e 3

6 4 stars means Above Average 3 stars means Average 2 stars means Below Average 1 star means Unsatisfactory First Name Last Name Display My Name Agree to the acceptable use policy Enter your first name here. Enter your last name here. Enter a valid address here. Your address cannot be viewed by the public or service providers. Notifications from MySupportAdvisor Administration will be sent to this address. If you want your username to appear on MySupportAdvisor next to your approved Review, check this box, otherwise Anonymous will appear instead of your username. You must agree to the Acceptable Use Policy in order to submit a review. Reviews are premoderated by MySupportAdvisor Administration and must meet the terms of this policy to be posted. Important: please make sure that you have corrected any errors before you press Submit because you will not be able to change or delete your review once it has been sent to DCSI. 4 Meeting the Acceptable Use Policy Before you can submit your review, you will need to read and agree to the Acceptable Use Policy. It is important that you read this policy carefully because any review you submit must meet these conditions.you can read this policy anytime by clicking on the link at the bottom of the MySupportAdvisor website, as shown below: P a g e 4

7 5 How to use other MySupportAdvisor Features 5.1 How to Browse by Services If you are looking for a particular service and want to see who offers that service, you can use the Services menu button, as shown below: This will provide you with a list of services by category for you to select from in a frame on the left of the screen.you can then click on the service that you are interested in and the results will appear in the frame on the right of the screen. 5.2 How to Browse by Regions If you are looking for services in your region, you can click on the Regions menu button, as shown below: This will provide you with a list of regions on the left of the screen, and the providers who can deliver services to that region on the right of the screen. 8 5.3 How to Read the Latest Reviews If want to read the latest reviews posted by other system users, you can click on the Reviews menu button, as shown below: Reviews will display the most recently posted reviews first, as shown below: If you want to see all reviews that have been written about an organisation, you first need to navigate to their profile page. Please see Section 5.6: How to Search Site for more information about navigating to profile pages. P a g e 6

10 5.4 How to Find a Service The Find a service feature on the home page of MySupportAdvisor provides you with a more in-depth search tool. You can enter the name of an Organisation or select a Service Type or select a Location (Region) or a Diagnostic Category or an Age Range or a combination of these. In the following example, Personal Support and Northern Adelaide and Physical Disability and Adults (18 years and above) were selected: The search criteria appears at the top of the search results followed by all of the organisations that met this combination. You can also click on one of the filters on the left pane to see the organisations that meet the criteria e.g. click on the Personal Support button to see all the organisations that provide Personal Support services. 11 5.5 How to Find Related Links The Links menu button will display a list of useful and related websites. 5.6 How to Search the Site To find a particular organisation, you can use the Search Site box at the top of the page, as shown below: In the example below, the word horse was entered and all the providers that used horse in their profile appeared, as shown below: P a g e 9

12 Optional: How to Become a Registered User and Sign In 6 How to Register Becoming a Registered User is optional. If you would like to become a Registered User, you can do so by creating a MySupportAdvisor account. To register for a MySupportAdvisor account, you can: 1. Click on the Register link at the top of the page, as shown below: 2. Create a MySupportAdvisor user name. When posting a review, you can choose not to display your name and appear publicly as Anonymous. 3. Complete the New User Registration form (below) then press the Submit button. P a g e 10

13 4. All fields must be completed.there is a also a security test to prove that the response has not been generated by a computer. Here is an example of what you might see: If you are having trouble reading the text, you can request a different set of words using or you can request an audio test by pressing. 5. The following screen lets you know that you have been successful: P a g e 11

14 7 How to Sign In as a Registered User Once you have become a Registered User you can enter MySupportAdvisor by clicking on the Sign in button as shown below: This will navigate you to a page where you can Sign in to MySupportAdvisor using your username and password. Your username is the address you have registered with, followed by.mysupport. For example, if your address is regina.registered@hotmail.com then your username will be regina.registered@hotmail.com.mysupport If you have forgotten your password, click on Forgot Password. An will be sent to you which will enable you to reset your password. P a g e 12

15 7.1 How do I Know if I Have Signed In After you have typed in your username and password, you will see your username on the home page. Here is an example of what the user Regina Registered would see after signing in: 7.2 How to Sign In with Facebook If you have a Facebook account and you would like to sign in to MySupportAdvisor via Facebook, use the Sign in with Facebook link as shown below: P a g e 13

16 You will then see a Facebook Login page similar to the one below: If you are already logged in to Facebook, when you click the Sign in with Facebook link, you will connect to MySupportAdvisor without having to sign in a second time. Please note that, if you Sign in with Facebook, your Facebook identity will become your username on MySupportAdvisor. However, if you are posting a review on MySupportAdvisor, you can choose not to display your name and be viewed publicly as Anonymous. 8 Meeting the Acceptable Use Policy The first time you visit MySupportAdvisor as a Registered User or as a Facebook User, the Acceptable Use Policy will appear. Before you can enter the site, you will need to read and agree to the Acceptable Use Policy. It is important that you read this policy carefully because any review you submit must meet these conditions. You can read this policy anytime by clicking on the link at the bottom of the MySupportAdvisor website, as shown below: P a g e 14
