1 MEASURE CALCULATOR UPDATE Measure Calculator Release for Meaningful Use Tracking and Support November 2012

2 2 How do I know if I have the latest Measure Calculator? The latest version of the Measurebot is v (as of 11/15/2012). This number can be found on the upper left of the screen. If you do not have that version, please get a Measure Calculator Update. You can also tell if you have the updated version because it is a blue screen.

3 3 Support Center The Support Center at the upper left of the measurebot has helpful links for you to learn more about the attestation process. You must view this document and make sure you have addressed all items before we will schedule the attestation with you if you need our help.

4 4 Meaningful Use Date Range Attestation dates now default based on if you attested previously or not. Sammy knows your previous attestation date and will set your Measure calculator accordingly. If you attested for 2011, your Measure Calculator dates will default to January 1, 2012 December 31, 2012 since you have to do a full year of Meaningful Use if it is your 2 nd year. If you did not attest for 2011, your Measure Calculator start date will default to January 1, 2012 or the date you upgraded to SammyEHR if it was in 2012.

5 5 Sammy, SamNotes, E-Prescribing In order to comply with Meaningful Use regulations, you MUST subscribe to the 3 products above. This goes for each and every Doctor in the practice who plans on attesting for Meaningful Use. SammyEHR is only considered ARRA Certified EHR when all 3 products are installed and used together. If one Doctor in the practice has E-Prescribing but another one does not, the Measure Calculator will no longer run for the Doctor who does not have E-Prescribing.

6 6 Important Information Measure 10: Clinical Quality Measures The updated Measure Calculator automatically runs the clinical quality measures for you each time you run it. This may slow it down a bit, but be patient with it. It is sifting through lots of data! If you prefer, you can uncheck the Calculate CQMs checkbox and the measure calculator will not run the CQMs unless you recheck the box. Measure 14: Electronic Exchange of Clinical Information The updated Measure Calculator performs the exchange each time you run it automatically. If this measure fails, it is probably because you are not running the measure calculator within the date range at the top. Menu Measure 9: Immunization Registries Data Submission If you administer immunizations, please contact ICS for instructions on how to meet this measure. Menu Measure 10: Syndromic Surveillance Data Submission ICS will contact you if you are in a state that supports this.

7 7 Measure 15: HIPAA Please note: If you had your HIPAA manual done by TLD Systems, you should be receiving s from Dr. Brody about attending HIPAA webinars throughout the year. If you are not receiving his newsletter s or webinar invites, please contact him: and he will add your to his distribution list. If you did not get your HIPAA manual through TLD Systems, please make sure it is up to date and that you have completed a risk analysis for your practice. 8 8 Click Calculate You must click on Calculate in order to see the rest of the new features in the Measurebot. The next screen has some new information on it.

9 9 Enter Non-Sammy Prescriptions There is a new section at the top that asks you to enter how many prescriptions that were done OUTSIDE of SammyEHR. Include prescriptions you handwrote, called in to the pharmacy, etc. These instructions are right there on the screen for you. You can change this number later if you make a mistake. Sammy will not let you click continue until you specify how many scripts were written outside of Sammy, if any.

10 10 Meaningful Use Locations The section on the bottom is the same as it was in the previous version. The rule is that YOU MUST do Meaningful Use in the locations where you have ARRA Certified Software and where you treat more than 50% of your patients. Click Continue to run the measure calculator.

11 11 After the Measurebot runs

12 12 Send results to ICS to verify status If you completed a risk analysis within the meaningful use period, double click on Core Measure 15 and follow the prompts to turn it green. The button below, Send results to ICS to verify my Meaningful Use Status will appear after the measurebot finishes running. After you click on it, you are prompted to enter an address so ICS staff can check your status and make recommendations (next slide).

13 13 Send results to ICS to verify status You will be contacted within 48 business hours with our input on your Measure Calculator status. It is our pleasure to help you stay on top of all of the measures!

15 15 Ready for Attestation The button below, I am ready to Attest. Print and Save my attestation results and send to ICS for verification will appear after the measurebot finishes running. Clicking on the button will bring up the screen on the next slide.

16 16 Attestation Preparation If this is your first year doing Meaningful Use, you must register before you can attest. If you attested in 2011, you do not have to register again. You must acknowledge the screen below to continue. Please read/print it.

17 17 Attestation Options Read this screen in its entirety. We do still offer the service to complete the attestation with you, or you may of course do it yourself. Detailed attestation instructions are provided by clicking on the links at the bottom CMS, or in the Support Center on the main Measurebot screen.
