Identify the IBM DS8870 and DS8880 disk arrays for which you want to view information. Obtain the IP addresses or symbolic addresses, and the login credentials for those disk arrays (RESTful API) from the corresponding system administrators. Note: We recommend that you define a separate user with limited authorities in the RAID management software for configuration purpose (not admin user id). 2. Obtain the REST servers public certificates that are running in RAID boxes either from administrators or use a browser to export the certificate that connects with the DS8000 Storage manager. 3. Use the gskkyman utility to create a key database in OMVS and import the REST servers certificates to the key database. a. Create a database. b. Store the database password. c. Import certificate (might be in DER, PEM, or other formats). d. Repeat the certificate import process for all the REST servers. 4. Change the key database and the stash file permission bits and group to enable the key database and stash file sharing among multiple users. Example: chgrp STORDGRP key.* chmod 640 key.* In this example, your key database files have a common name (key), and different suffixes. Users are the members of "STORDGRP" group. 5. Run the J01RAIDR configuration job. Find this job in CCTUSAMP library and customize it to meet your requirements as instructed in the comments at the beginning of the member. This job allocates the configuration data set and populates it with sample data. If you want to protect this data set with data set encryption, specify the encryption key label. 6. Review and set the RAIDRDSN system parameter. RAIDRDSN specifies the name of the configuration data set allocated by J01RAIDR job in previous step. 7. Configure the configuration data set content according to the instructions that are defined in the sample data. 8. Define the CA Vantage encryption key in ICSF. Ensure Vantage users, including Vantage started task owner, have access to it. The key is for AES algorithm, it has a length of 32 bytes, it is DATA type, and it must have the label VANRRAID. This key is defined by the ICSF utility CSFKGUP, and stored in ICSF control data set. System programmer is to define the key. The utility parameters have the following format: ADD TYPE(DATA) LENGTH(32) ALGORITHM(AES) LAB(VANRRAID) 9. Use CA Vantage Encryption Utility in TSO to encrypt userids and passwords that provide access to the DS88xx boxes. Follow the instructions in the utility. To call the CA Vantage Encryption Utility under TSO or ISPF, use the following command: CALL 'loadlib(vngluenc)' ).
