1 Access to your video systems is almost exclusively handled through the Alarm Monitoring application. BASIS has several tools and features in place to help you make the most of the surveillance systems you have installed in your facility. Follow Login instructions to open the Alarm Monitoring application. Open the system status tree by selecting View > System Status > New System Status Window. As with all use of Alarm Monitoring if you wish to have the application automatically organize the windows on the screen, select Window > Tile Horizontally. On the system status tree locate your video recorder. These devices use the recorder icon and are almost always named LNVR or LDVR. Expand this device to view the cameras available to monitor or review. Page 45

2 Viewing Live Video: Right click on the desired camera or video recorder and select Launch Video. A small dialog window will appear with live video streaming from the selected device. To view more than one device in a single video window select matrix view from the drop down pictured below and simply click and drag additional cameras onto the window. Page 46

3 Viewing Recorded Video: Similar to the live video, right click on a device you would like to view recorded video for and select Launch Recorded Video. A small window will appear asking for a date/time range. Enter the desired span of time you wish to view video for and press ok Once the video window has opened you will notice that you now have the time range set in the two boxes on the bottom corners and a slider in between. This slider controls how fast each frame of the video will play. Centered = actual time, far right = 50X, far left = 1/10 X. You should also notice a second slider just below the video window this will allow you to manually select where in the recorded video you wish to view from. 4 Exporting Video Follow the steps to view recorded video. Once you have a desired date/time range for the device you wish to export video from, select Option > Export Video The export window will appear. Click on to select the location you wish to save the video to. A save as dialog will appear. Because this is running over Citrix be sure to select My Computer then C$ on Client. This will make sure that the file is saved to your local computer and not the Citrix server. Once you have selected the location and filename you wish to save the video to, press Save on the save as dialog then Export on the export window. Please be patient. Depending on the amount of time you are trying to export this action may take several minutes. Page 48

5 Searching Video Follow the steps to view recorded video. Once you have a desired date/time range for the device you wish to search, select Control > Video Search Then select Event > Select Event > Video Processing and click on the desired search method. Most often the Motion Detection (AI) event type is the best choice. Once selected, additional options will appear in the blank box to the right of the video. For Motion detection select the region of interest icon and click on the video window to draw the area where you would like to detect motion. The area being drawn will have a yellow transparent center with red borders. Once you have the desired region drawn just double click on the last point to stop drawing. Click on Refresh in the bottom right corner to set the region of interest. *Note: you must click refresh each time you adjust the region of interest* Page 49

6 The threshold value should be adjusted to account for the amount of motion you are looking for. Higher threshold values take larger objects to count as a motion. Lower values will catch smaller objects. Once the threshold and region of interest are configured, click on the search icon to begin searching the span of video. The search tool will then begin to search through the range of video specified and will place thumbnails of incidents where motion was detected into the Event Thumbnail View on the bottom of the window. You can then review the thumbnails for an individual or motion event of interest. Double click on a thumbnail to have the video window jump to that point in time so you can review what occurred.
