Installing Auralia for Mac

1 These instructions will assist you in installing Auralia 4 for Mac. If you run into any problems or need tech support throughout this walk through, please read the Problems? section at the end of this document. 1. Click the link within the from Rising Software to download the Auralia 4 software. h"p:// customer/fullsail/auralia_m_ pkg 2. This will bring up a webpage in your browser and/or will start automatically downloading to your computer s Downloads folder. 3. Locate the file in your Downloads folder and double click to open it. 2 4. The installer for Auralia will then launch on your screen. Press Continue. 5. Press Continue after viewing the Software License Agreement. 6. Select a Destination disk where you want to install the Auralia software. Select Macintosh HD and hit continue. Page 2 of 9

3 7. The installer will tell you how much disk space this will take on your computer. Click Install. 8. After you click install, you will be prompted to enter your computer s password. Enter your computer s password and click Install Software. 9. The software will begin installing onto your computer. Page 3 of 9

4 10. The software is now installed. Next you will need to launch Auralia to activate it. Click on Close. 11. Locate Auralia in your Applications Folder. Double click its icon to launch the application. 12. (first time installations only) Upon launching the application, it will ask you for a serial number. Your serial number is located within your Full Sail . Subject line: Project LaunchBox Download Software Code: Auralia. Enter the serial code and click OK. Page 4 of 9

5 13. You will then be prompted to register the software. Make sure that you re connected to the internet and have selected Register and activate using this computer s Internet connection (recommended). Click on Next. 14. Select Register for myself. Click on Next. 15. Enter the required information.this will help with future updates. Click Next. Important note: If you ever need to reregister the software, you will have to provide First Name (& Initials), Last Name, and EXACTLY as it s entered on this page. Save it somewhere! *Please see Re-Registration Problems at the end of this document if you have forgotten it. Page 5 of 9

6 16. You ve now finished registering your software. Click on Finish and the program will start. 17. The first time the program opens after registering, it will ask you a series of questions. On the first window, select your preferred Language. Confirm that Note Names is set to US Style and Chord Progressions is set to Figured Bass. Click Continue. 18. Set MIDI Output Device to DLS synth. Click on Continue. Page 6 of 9

7 19. Under Pictures and Sounds, select what Correct and Incorrect Pictures you prefer. Then select whether you would like sounds to play when the program starts, closes and when you receive a correct or incorrect answer. Click on Continue when finished. 20. Enter (and remember!!) a personal username and password that gives you local login access for personal use. You will also be provided additional cloud login info for each course that uses Auralia 4. Select voice type. Don t worry if you re not sure of your voice type. You can change it later by going to File --> Change Your Details. The following link describes voice types: wiki/voice_type. 21. For online coursework, click the Use cloud connection checkbox. You cannot access the course s cloud database without first clicking this checkbox. Leave Use proxy server unchecked. Page 7 of 9

8 22. Enter your cloud login information (USERNAME, PASSWORD, and SCHOOL CODE) into the login screen, which is located in an from Rising Software that you will receive by Monday evening of Week 1. If you cannot find this , please contact your instructor immediately. 23. After successfully logging in to the cloud, ensure that the bottom right corner of the screen displays (Cloud). If it does not, please return to step If you ve used Musition 4 and/or Auralia 4 prior to this month, make 100% sure that you change the SCHOOL CODE of your login information. A SCHOOL CODE from a previous month/course will not work. Page 8 of 9

If you have to re-register your software, the following info must be entered EXACTLY as it was when you initially registered: First Name (& Initials) Last Name If you ve misplaced this info, please contact to retrieve your correct registration information.
