3 PSSI Programs And How They Communicate PSSI CACManager PSSI CACmanager is a program that runs in the background of Windows 7. It runs all of the cabinet functions and is the backbone of the cabinet's system. There is a Single Board Computer (SBC) that run Windows 7 and CACManager are located in the top lid of the cabinet. The most current and standard version of CACManager is: CACManager Version PSSI GUI Program The PSSI GUI program is also loaded on your SBC computer. The GUI program is for administrative use only, not for the day to day user. The Graphical User Interface (GUI) adds an extensive amount of features and control that is presented in a very easy to use program that works hand in hand with the CACManager program. The current and standard version of the PSSI GUI program is: PSSI GUI Program Version The GUI and CACManager work hand in hand with each other. -The GUI program pulls files from CACManager onto your local machine, you edit them, and save the files on your local computer. -As soon as you click the save button, the GUI understands that it needs to push the files back into the CACManager program, instantly updating it. -Any new users added, equipment lists updated, exc. will now be live and up to date.
4 Accessing the GUI Program Accessing the GUI Locally -You can access the GUI program right from the SBC computer that runs the cabinet. -You can hook a keyboard, monitor, and mouse directly to the peripheral ports and login. -Windows 7 will ask for a user name and password. Username: pssi Password: pssi Launch the GUI program. Instead of using an IP address to connect to the cabinet, just type in localhost. Accessing the GUI Via Laptop -Connect the SBC computer to your laptop via Cat6 Cable. -The laptop must be running Windows 7 or better. -Use a standard Cat6 cable, not a crossover cable. -Download the GUI program version on the laptop, also download a PDF viewer to view log files. -Your icon tray will say No internet connection and this is OK, Windows will automatically create a temporary LAN. -Launch the GUI program, type in the cabinets IP address. -If you press the red second button on the keypad of the CAC Cabinet, it will tell you what the IP address is for the cabinet. Accessing the GUI over the network -Plug the CAC Cabinet into a network and the SBC computer will be assigned an IP address. -Download the GUI on a workstation and you can access the CAC Cabinet using the SBC Computer's IP address. -Launch the GUI program, type in the cabinets IP address. -If you press the red second button on the keypad of the CAC Cabinet, it will tell you what the IP address is for the cabinet. -Download a.pdf Viewer to view the log files.
5 Log-In and Setting the Local Folder ***The Example below is accessing the GUI over the network, and will be the same as accessing from a laptop. *** The most important step when using the GUI is to stay organized. Create a file system on your desktop like the one below. Each CAC Cabinet should get its own folder so every time you log into that cabinet, the information is saved in the same place and can be used as a back-up. -Connect your cabinet to the network, or connect your laptop to the SBC computer using Cat6 cable. -Launch the GUI program -To connect to a cabinet you need it's IP Address. -Press the red 2ND button on the keypad of the cabinet you want to connect to, and write down the IP address displayed. -Type that IP address into the field labeled IP address of CA Cabinet. The address will save in the history directly to the right. -Next, direct the GUI to the file system you set up above to the correct cabinet you want to access. -Then Click Connect. -These are the GUI's main bar buttons. -After you click connect your left icon should read Secure Link in yellow letters. -Next click log into cabinet database, and your left icon should read Logged in. -The desktop computer icon indicates that you are saving files on your local computer. Click that icon and it will chance to a CAC Cabinet icon. Now you are saving files directly to the cabinets SBC computer. -After you see the CAC Cabinet icon, click load remote database. This pulls the database off of the cabinet SBC computer. After you are finished adding users, editing, exc. Make sure you click SAVE ALL.
6 System Configuration Tab Always save files after making Changes! System Configuration is the first tab you should visit. -You can what name is displayed on the LCD screen rather than PSSI CAC Cabinet. You should give your a Unique name. For example: AMX CAB 2-C. (Division: AMX, Cabinet Number: 2, Building: C) Cabinet Mode Selection: Select between First-Available, Multi-Use, Fixed-Drawer, Check-In-Only, Check-Out-Only modes. Missing Equipment Time Out: The amount of time that a laptop has to be checked out before it is determined missing. You can search specifically in the activity report to see what equipment is missing and who has it. Check-In-Query: When returning equipment the cabinet will ask the user are you checking in equipment or do you want to leave the equipment checked out? Auto-Add User: You can turn the auto add user ON or OFF from the GUI, allows new CAC cards to be entered into the database directly from the cabinet. Auto User Name: Unchecked allows the cabinet to scan and pull user information from a CAC Card to populate the users name. If you Check this the new user will be enrolled as John Doe X. ***After you change any settings always click SAVE CONFIGS on the menu bar to save all changes. ***
7 User Accounts / Adding A New User Tabs This is the User Accounts Menu. You can add 5 types of users, edit users, delete users, and lock users out of the cabinet. - To add a new user, click the new user button. - A new field will populate, Click on John Doe # to edit the user and input their name. Required information will be displayed with a Pink box. Left-click the pink Access Method box and select an access method for the user. Then to generate a signature ID for their access method, Right-click the pink Signature ID box. Right-clicking on the Signature ID box will give you one of these results depending on your access method. New Keypad User -CAC Card: Insert your CAC Card into your desktop card reader, enter the associated PIN number, then click Authenticate. -Keypad: Input a secure pin number of your choosing for the user, Then click the OK button. -HID RFID: If your CAC Cabinet came with a HID RFID reader, Input the requested information into the window and click Get Signature ID New HID RFID USER New CAC Card User
8 Equipment List and Drawer Configuration Tabs The Equipment List allows you label and keep track of your equipment inside the cabinet. Fill out each field with the equipment you will be storing into your CAC Cabinet drawers. This will keep track of exactly who has what piece of equipment, what drawer it was taken out of, and what time it was taken out. This information could all be found in the Activity Log tab. Click the green floppy disk on the menu bar labeled Equipment list to SAVE the list. Below is the second half of the equipment list. This is called the Drawer Con fig tab, and allows you to electronically assign equipment to each drawer. Click on the Equip-Select square and a drop down list of all the items in the equipment list will populate. Mouse over the list, click, and the field will fill in. Click on the blue floppy disk on the menu bar titled Config's to SAVE your drawer configuration tab.
9 Snapshot Tab The Snapshot Tab displays what exactly is located in the drawers at the exact moment you update the status. Click the blue Update Status button to refresh and get the latest cabinet information. -Just by checking a box, you can open drawers, reboot the cabinet, shut the cabinet down, restart CACmanager, Test the fan alarm, or force check-in / Check-Out drawers. After you check a box click the red Activate Settings button. - Drawer Status reports whether a drawer is currently open, closed, or broken. - Checked IN or OUT reports whether a drawer is checked in or out. - Last Time Drawer Was Open Shows the Time and date of the last user to check out equipment. - User Name, and Signature ID show the unique user information of the current/last person to check a drawer out. - Equipment ID, Equipment Descr., and Qty. refer to the Equipment that is currently in or checked out of the cabinet. - User Phone # Shows the users phone number of the currently/last checked out drawer. Make sure you click the red floppy disk labeled SAVE ALL after you make any changes.
10 Activity Reports Tab The Activity Reports features are extremely versatile. -The right column is to show the content that is included in each report. -The left column is for filtering the report fields you have selected in the right column. -You can make your own reports using the exact fields of information you need in the right hand column. Select all of the fields for a full report, or only view missing equipment, or by access method, rank, user name exc. -Use the left hand column to filter your fields between dates, drawer numbers, equipment type or right down to an individual user. Select the View Report square to view a PDF file of the report you are about to generate. Select the Print Report to have a copy of the report print as soon as you click Generate Report. The Generate Report will simultaneously: 1. Save a PDF file in the cabinet's folder on the computer you are running the GUI. 2. Show you the report if you selected View Report 3. Print your report if you selected Print Report
11 Receipt Layout Tab The GUI provides a system to keep a physical activity log of your cabinets by printing out receipts. -The Receipt will automatically fill in all of the fields above and digitally sign the receipt via the user's CAC card. -The INSTR. field can be edited to change the instructions on the receipt. This is generally used to tell where the receipt needs to be returned to after it has been printed. -If you check the Enable Auto Receipt Printing box, every time a user withdraws or returns a laptop a receipt will automatically be spooled to your default printer. To change the printer that the receipts are are being sent to change the PRINTER field. Make sure you click the black floppy disk on the menu bar to make sure you SAVE the RECEIPT LAYOUT.
12 Cabinet Fan Status Tab The cabinets come equipped with 4-8 fans located on the back of the cabinet. This is to ensure your equipment will not overheat and is constantly in a temperature controlled environment. -The cabinet automatically updates the temperature, voltage, and power readings once every minute. -If you want to manually update the cabinet's readings click the blue Update Readings button. -This page features a time stamp that shows the time of its last update. -You can manually set the cabinets turn on / turn off temps -Each cabinet is an audio alarm that turns of if the cabinet is well over the temperature it should be operating at, Then is displayed in red reading OVER TEMP like in the example above. The above readings are displayed in : Voltage > Volts Current > Milliamperes Power > Watts Sensors > Degrees Fahrenheit
