RETOOL THE SCHOOL 45 TH Anniversary Edition Evangelical Christian Academy The purpose of ECA s Retool the School program is for donors to enable purchases of equipment or supplies on behalf of the elementary, secondary, and athletic programs. This is a helpful way for the school to stay up-to-date while keeping tuition costs as low as possible. All contributions are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated! We plan to update this site daily. Items where we have received a donation will be struck-through. To make a donation: Contact Shari Hartnett at (719) ELEMENTARY ITEMS 1. Promethean ActivBoards ($2,700 each) These boards are used by the teachers to present educational materials in the classroom. They are interactive for both teacher and students and can present material from the computer or internet. We need two of these boards at the elementary one each for the Computer Lab and 1 st grade classrooms. 2 Promethean ActivBoards $2,700 each 2. Laptops for Computer Lab ($200 each) 24 laptop computers are needed to replace the aging computer lab and classroom computers at the elementary school. Students use these computers to learn keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, internet searching and presentation software use. 20 Laptop Computers for Lab - $200 donation needed for each laptop 4 Donation(s) Received
3. New Playground Equipment (cost varies per unit) Units will be combined to create an updated playground for the Elementary Campus. Once a target price is reached, we will purchase the item and it will be struck through. Swing Set (6 seat)-$3, ft. Merry-Go-Round-$5,400 Hurricane Spinner-$2,000 Teeter Totter (4 seat)-$1,500 M-Shaped Climber-$2, Air Conditioner units for upstairs classrooms We would like to install window a/c units in each of the upstairs classrooms. This will help to cool our building during the hot school days. Each unit would cost approx. $ for unit and installation. 5 Air Conditioning Units-$700 the 5 upstairs classrooms 0 Received
5. Window Coverings ($300 per classroom and hallways/gym) Our thin metal blinds have served the elementary well; however, it is time to have them updated. We would like to replace all of our old blinds with new, 2 ½ inch, faux wood blinds. Classrooms 9 Set of Blinds-$300 each 0 Received Hallways/Gym 7 Sets of Blinds-$300 each 0 Received HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC-ITEMS 1. Scoreboards ($12,000) Two new full-sized LED scoreboards with a wireless controller and protective nets/screens to minimize damage. The second scoreboard will be a full sized board mounted opposite the score table for easier viewing and operation.
2. Score Table ($1,865) Bleacher mounted, 8 score table to replace our current 6' score table. The current laminate table is chipped and looking aged and the extra 2' will help with 4 people working at the table most nights. 3. Record Boards ($3,800) A customized 13' X 5' poly-coated, Galvanized steel record board, with premium quality, digitally printed and laminated vinyl graphics, mounted outside of the gym. The board will be able to hold records for all HS sports (B/G Cross Country, B/G Soccer, B/G Basketball, B/G Track and Field, Volleyball, and Baseball) and displayed for all to see.
4. Ice Machine ($3,500) A new ice machine to replace the current aging one. The new machine will make smaller, half-cube ice which would be better for our use (especially for injuries) and will give us a sufficient, reliable ice source. 5. Commercial Refrigerator/Freezer ($4,500) Side-by-side commercial sized refrigerator and freezer to replace our current residential sized, leaking combo. This would provide more room for concessions items as well as storage for class and staff lunch events. SECONDARY ITEMS 1. Promethean ActivBoards ($2,700 each) These boards are used by the teachers to present educational materials in the classroom. They are interactive for both teacher and students and can present material from the computer or internet. We need three of these boards at the secondary one each for English/French Class, Bible Class, and Computer Lab. 3 Promethean ActivBoards $2,700 each
2. Computer Cart ($1,500) New computer cart to house our surface tablets and additional laptop computers. Currently, we keep our surface tablets in a locked drawer in a classroom. A cart would give us a locked cabinet that can be used to charge the tablets and laptops and move them from room to room as needed. 3. Laptop Computers ($200 each) 20 additional laptop computer to add to surface tablets. These laptops will be used in our cart for use as a mobile computer lab. Our current computer lab is used almost every period for a technology class. A mobile computer lab will give teachers access to computer for students to use in their class for typing papers and internet research. 20 Laptop Computers-$200 donation need for each laptop 4. DSLR Cameras ($500 each) 2 new DSLR cameras, one for our Yearbook class and one for our Art class. Students in Yearbook use the camera to take pictures of students and school events for inclusion into the ECA yearbook. Our Art students will use the camera as part of their photography unit in Art III and for those pursuing further individual study in Studio Art. 2 Cameras-$500 each
5. Lockers ($2,800 for each section of 30 personal lockers) - We were recently able to replace the lockers for both the Junior High students and the seniors. The new lockers have been a huge improvement in appearance and functionality. We would like to replace the lockers for the upstairs hallways for the freshman, sophomores, and juniors. 3 Locker sections-$2,800 each
