6 Cobham Wireless has a long list of industry firsts including: iddas - our intelligent digital DAS solution - provides mobile operators with a revolutionary new approach to handling the challenges and current limitations of in-building coverage systems. iddas allows mobile operators to dynamically allocate capacity round a facility and, in effect, provide a DAS system that can breathe and react to user demands. The TM500 Test Mobile family has established itself as a leading test solution for cellular infrastructure equipment manufacturers worldwide. The TM500 was the first 3G, and subsequently 4G, test mobile and is regarded as the industry standard when it comes to base station development and testing. TeraVM is a first-to-market NFV test solution, allowing network function vendors and service providers to share lab assets between facilities. This enables engineers to create virtual test pods to stress test network functions, reducing ownership costs by eliminating the need for multiple labs all using proprietary hardware. Cobham Wireless and 5G Cobham has been a key partner in 5G research right from the beginning. Just as we have been with LTE-A, we are playing a pivotal role in test and measurement innovations to enable the core wireless technology research teams to develop concept-proving system prototypes, towards 5G and beyond. Developing the 5G network of the future Cobham Wireless is one of the founding partners of the 5GIC at the University of Surrey. 5GIC is the UK s only research centre dedicated to the next generation of mobile communications and it conducts research and development into advanced technologies for the 5G network of the future. The project aims to establish a world-leading position in mobile broadband communications, and participants include leading global mobile network operators, infrastructure and tools providers, along with media and communications organisations, in addition to the University of Surrey itself.
