The D20ME II and D20ME will no longer available for purchase after March 31, This product bulletin is a follow-up to the original discontinuance announcement; that is, PRBT-0307 Notice of Discontinuance D20MEII, D20ME (released October 2015). Part Replacement The D20MX is designed to provide a smooth migration path for D20 users to extend the life of aging D20 systems through its backward compatibility with the existing D20 parts. The D20MX enables simpler and more efficient compliance with NERC-CIP requirements, using open and trusted standards and protocols that allow integration with modern cyber security systems and tools. It represents the next innovation in GE s cyber secure RTU technology for NERC-CIP environments. The D20MX is built upon the field-proven Multilin D20 technologies and continues the tradition of reliable automation and control through high quality and long term product availability. The D20MX CPUs listed in Table 6 will replace the older D20 CPU such as D20ME II, D20ME, D20M++, D20M+ and D20M. 4 D20 ME II and D20ME Continued Product Support The remaining support for D20ME II and D20ME products is available as follows: Firmware Support Configuration Software Support (SGConfig) Repair and Replacement Training Support Firmware Support D20ME II/ME firmware updates and technical product support will continue to be maintained: D20 application updates due to bug fixes will continue to be maintained D20 firmware upgrades will continue to be maintained Configuration Software Support SGConfig is a PC software-based user interface that allows users to efficiently manage configuration files for the D20, D20MX substation controllers. SGConfig supports: All of the functionality available in the ConfigPro software. Enhanced visual representation of your substation hardware configuration and device software configuration. The necessary security features in the D20MX such as SSH, SFTP compared to ConfigPro that doesn t. Repair and Replacement Returns and Repairs will continue to be processed, contingent upon availability of parts estimated repair services timeframe is 7 years Processor boards under warranty that cannot be repaired will be replaced with a D20MX. GE will work with customers to migrate existing D20ME configurations to D20MX configurations Users can send back D20ME and D20MEII boards and purchase a D20MX CPU at 65% of the list price; this offer is valid throughout year Training Support To support customers transitioning to D20MX from D20ME II/ ME, GE offers a training course at its Markham, Ontario facility. This course comprises e-learning modules, a virtual class session, and then a 3 day practical workshop. The practical workshop covers D20ME, D20 MX, and conversion from D20ME to D20MX. You must be registered for a specific training course at least 4 weeks prior to the course start date; this allows you time to attend the prerequisite virtual class session and complete the coursework and testing, prior to the practical workshop attendance.. Attendance of at least 10 students is required for training to commence. Classes are limited to 20 students due to the nature of course. 5 Continued Product Support While limited supply of the D20ME II and D20ME processor modules lasts, returns and repairs will continue to be processed estimated repair services time-frame is 7 years. After May 31 st 2018, in the event that any D20ME II and D20ME processor modules (covered under warranty) cannot be repaired, the D20MX provides a suitable replacement.
