1 Release 9.4 includes several major enhancements across the core system, onboard, oncampus, onmessage, and onrecord. As always, thank you for all of the fantastic feedback that helps shape these releases! The Web App Style task (previously named P3 Style) has been redesigned and is now available under System > Settings. New features in this task give Platform Managers the ability to: Update the logo that appears in the App banner (in the upper left-hand corner) and on the login page (at the top of the login box). Managers can click Add Logo or Change to select an existing logo (from the Logos and Seals task) or upload a new logo (new logos will be added to the Logos and Seals task). Images should be in the PNG or JPG format with a max width of 360 pixels and a max height of 60 pixels. Determine where constituents are linked to when they click on the App logo. Managers can use inline editing to enter the appropriate website address in the Logo URL field. Upon this release, the Logo URL field will be pre-populated with the school s domain. Establish the primary and secondary colors for the App. In the Color Palette section, managers can select the appropriate colors or enter the RGB or hex value for the colors. A new Labels & Text menu has replaced the Style menu under System > Settings. Platform Managers can use this menu to access the Custom Labels, Custom Text/Messages, and Browse Groups Settings tasks. When Admissions Managers access a candidate s onboard profile from a list in the Work List task, they can now navigate to the next or previous candidate in the list using the Next Candidate and Prev Candidate buttons that appear at the top of the profile. Managers can also navigate back to the work list by clicking on the name of the list at the
2 top of the profile. If managers navigate away from a candidate s profile, but return to his/her profile within 30 minutes, they will still be able to use the Next Candidate and Prev Candidate buttons. The Application Forms task has been redesigned. New features in this task give Admissions Managers the ability to: View all application forms in a single column. Update form names using inline editing. Activate and inactivate forms using the Status dropdown. Edit forms using the Form and Settings buttons. Find forms using the search and filter options. An entering grade placeholder is now available in the New Account Created and Online Application Submitted - Administration notifications. A KPI Board Menu link now appears on all KPI Board detail pages. This link gives Admissions Managers the ability to navigate to any KPI tile from within a detail page. When managers click on the link, the menu expands and displays buttons for KPI Home and for all of the KPI tiles. In the Schools section of the onboard profile, Admissions Managers can now enter a school s city, country, and state/province/county. Managers can also enter a candidate s GPA in the new GPA field. In the Record section of the onboard profile, Admissions Managers can now indicate which candidates are international by checking the new International field (under Candidate Information). In the Contract Summary Totals report, withdrawn contracts are now included in the Not Returning count for returning students and in the Declined count for newly accepted candidates.
3 Teachers can now create tests and quizzes in their academic course sections using the new Assessments feature (Assessments can also be added to the Grade Book). For additional information about Assessments, please view the Getting Started with Assessments: A Guide for Teachers and Getting Started with Assessments: A Guide for Students resources in the Help Center (you must log in to your site and open the Help Center before using this link): The Assignment Center has been redesigned. New features on this page give students and teachers the ability to: View their assignments by day, week, month, or specified date range. Filter assignments by status (students only) and by class. Open a printer-friendly version of the page. Access an ical feed for their assignments. Switch between a list view of their assignments and a redesigned grid view. The calendar grid now displays color-coded assignments (assignments are color coded by status for students and by the number of graded assignments for teachers), and now allows teachers to click on an empty space to add a new assignment, click on an existing assignment to edit the assignment, and drag and drop an assignment to adjust the assigned and due dates. On the Assignments page in course sections, new features have been added to the calendar view. Students, parents, and teachers can now: Open a printer-friendly version of the page. Generate reports (if access has been granted). Filter assignments by status (students only). View color-coded assignments (assignments are color coded by status for
4 students and by the number of graded assignments for teachers). Students, parents, and advisors can now view year-long cumulative grades in the Grade Book analysis window (teachers must first enable the Year Cumulative field in their Grade Book display options and parents/students/advisors must have access to view grades). Page Managers can now determine if the navigation menus remain fixed at the top of the screen, even as users scroll down the page (this feature is required for scroll spy menus). To enable fixed menus, managers can edit the appropriate master layout, edit the Region Settings for the top region, and select On for the Fixed Region option. This feature is only available on desktop and laptop computers; users on phones or on tablets in portrait mode will not see fixed menus since the mobile menu is typically enabled instead. Page Managers can now add scroll spy menus to master layouts. Scroll spy menus allow users to navigate within a single page and are typically used to create home pages that contain teaser sections with limited content. When managers enable scroll spy, the navigation menus not only remain fixed at the top of the screen, but the menu items also automatically highlight as users scroll to the different sections of the page. Additionally, users can click on a menu item to be automatically scrolled to that section of the page. To enable scroll spy, Page Managers must: Add a navigation menu to the top row of the top region on a master layout. Establish the menu settings and select Scroll Spy (the top level menu items, based on the menu settings, will automatically display). Associate any row on the master layout with a corresponding menu item by selecting the appropriate menu item from the Spy dropdown that appears above each row. Only one menu per master layout can have the scroll spy option enabled. Please also note that adding more sections to a master layout, and adding more content to each section, will increase the time required to load the page. When Page Managers use the Link to Page option to create pages, they can now link to
5 a page on their own website by searching for and selecting the appropriate page (managers can still link to an external website by entering a URL). This change ensures that links to pages will not break if the pages are moved in the navigation or if the page names are edited. Schools that have multiple websites can now determine which site is the default site. This ensures that Podium and content-based URLs (such as Event Registration forms) will redirect to the appropriate site. After accessing the appropriate site under onmessage > Website, Page Managers can use the Make Default Site button in the Site Settings task to activate that site as the default. A Default label will appear in the onmessage > Website navigation and in the task title so managers can easily see which site is the default. In the Styles task, the Modified field now displays the name of the user who is logged in, not the name of the user being impersonated. When Registration Managers create new Event Registration forms, the Force page to use SSL field in the Security task is now enabled by default (forms that request credit card information always use SSL, regardless of this setting). When Registration Managers and Giving Managers inactivate the Event Registration and Giving notifications, they are no longer required to populate the Reply and From Name fields before saving. Alumni/ae can now access a Progress page in the persona navigation. This page allows alumni/ae to view the historical academic performance information that has been published to them, including their transcripts, report cards, honors, and awards. Alumni/ae must choose a grade from the Select Grade dropdown list in order to view their information from a particular year. In the Academic Profile, future school years now appear in the School Year dropdown so managers can view a student s information for any grade level. In the Course Requests task (under onrecord > Procedures), Online Signup Managers can now search for and recommend/require courses for past students who have returned to the school (these students have enrollments from previous school years but do not have enrollments in the current school year).
