2 Welcome to the ANSR Center Introduction Welcome to the ANSR Center, the Abbott Nutrition Skills and Resources center. This online system will complement the other training you receive on Abbott products (in-service training, Abbott representative overview and local super users). The online training will include a series of interactive web-based courses to help you learn how to use Abbott products. It includes games, exercises and quizzes that will keep you alert and challenged as you master the products. After product lessons there are Knowledge Check tests that you can optionally take to verify how well you understand the material. This guide is intended to help you get started with the online training and navigate around the ANSR center. Technical Requirements In order to use this online system, you will need a computer that meets the following requirements: Internet Explorer 6.0+ or FireFox 1.0+ web browser Adobe Flash 8.0+ player Screen resolution set at 1024 x 768 or higher Audio capabilities (i.e., soundcard, headphones if desired) A dedicated internet connection of at least 56K/sec (but preferably higher)

3 Logging on To log on, double click the Internet Explorer icon on your computer desktop and go to: Result: The ANSR Center Sign-In Page appears (see below). In the New Users area at the lower left of the page, enter the Company ID: Password: Next click the SIGN UP button. This will allow you to register as an ANSR user and create your own personal Username and Password. Note: The next step is to register as an ANSR user. Once you have registered and established your personal ANSR Username and Password, you will log in on your next visit to ANSR through the Returning Users area on the right.

4 Registering 2. To register, complete the registration form below. The fields with the red star * are required. When you have finished, click the REGISTER button. Note: For the Organization/Institution, select your facility. The Security PIN (Personal Identification Number) is any 4-digit number that is easy for you to remember. It is only used to help you in case you forget your password. Result: After clicking the register button, you will see a registration complete confirmation page and can then continue to the ANSR Center home page.

5 Continuing 3. To continue on to the ANSR home page, just click the here link on the registration confirmation page shown below. Result: After clicking the here link on the registration confirmation page, you will be logged in to the ANSR Center and will be directed to the ANSR home page.

6 Using the ANSR Center Welcome to the ANSR Center, the Abbott Nutrition Skills and Resources center. This is a state-ofthe-art online training and resource center designed to help you improve your efficiencies and daily operations. The Center is divided into three main components: 1. Training innovative, highly effective online customer training for a variety of personnel needs including device training, disease states, product, etc. 2. Resources a variety of customer-specific resources including documents, etc. 3. Calculators designed to support the highest level of performance for customer personnel.

7 Training Click the Training link to go to the online training area. Various online training courses will appear. Just click on the Launch Course button under the course name to begin the training lesson. The innovative, highly effective online customer training helps users understand the relationship between nutrition and improvements in clinical outcomes by disease states, nutrition product training, and devices and pumps, etc. Step 1: Click on the training link from the menu on the left.

8 Step 2: Click on the button.

9 Step 3: Once the course is completed you can view the status of the course or print a certificate of completion.

10 Resources Click the Resources link to go to the online resource area. A list will appear, showing the types of resources available to you (such as Enteral Reference Binder, Tube Feeding Tools, Wound Care, etc.) These resources provide evidence-based practice tools to optimize nutrition and health services. They can be used for professional and patient education to help you do your job more efficiently and gain stronger adherence to patient care plans. Click on the Documents link and a menu will appear with all available folders. Step 1: Click on the Resources link from the menu on the left and select a link from the dropdown menu.

11 Step 2: Select a document from the list on the right. Each of the menu links contains various documents relating the menu topic. Select a link and click on the document name from the menu to download the document.

12 Step 3: Using the toolbar of the PDF document. The toolbar at the top of the screen allows the user to print the document, save the document, manipulate the page display, etc.

13 Calculators Click the Resources link to go to the online resource area. Click on the Calculators link and a menu will appear with all available calculators. Single Patient Conversion Calculator This tool is intended to assist in converting an individual patient from their current nutritional product to an alternative Abbott Nutrition product. Click on the Calculator link and then selected the Single Patient Conversion Calculator link.

14 To use the Single Patient Conversion Calculator to provide you with nutrient comparison information, do this: 1. Complete the From: section - select the current nutritional product and enter basic information from the current prescription. 2. Complete the To: section - pick up to two alternative Abbott Nutrition products. 3. Click the Calculate button - to get comparative nutrient information for the current and alternative product(s) If at any time you need help with directions, click on the Help button located in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

15 From Section The From Section is used to specify the current product and order information. Step 1: Select the Manufacturer of the product currently being used. Click on the down arrow on the pull down list named -SELECT A MANUFACTURER- and select the correct manufacturer name from the list that appears.

16 Step 2: Select the specific nutritional product currently used. Click on the down arrow for the pull down list named -SELECT A PRODUCT- and select the correct product name from the list that appears. After you do this, a new pull down list named -SELECT A USAGE- appears.

17 Step 3: Select a usage for the current nutritional product selected. Click on the down arrow for the pull down list named -SELECT A USAGE- and select either TUBE or ORAL from the list that appears. After you do this, a set of entries for the current prescription appears. Cautions: If you have selected a product recommended for Oral or Modular use and picked TUBE usage, warning messages will appear on your report. If you have selected a product in powder or packet form and picked TUBE usage, the calculator cannot perform the calculation because no flow rate can be determined from the information.

18 Step 4: Enter order information for the current nutritional product selected. ORAL usage: There are three entries available to describe an Oral supplement. You must enter information for two of them. The calculator will compute the value of the third entry and display it: Amount per serving: Enter the amount per serving prescribed. Enter the number grams {g) per serving for a product in powder or packet form. If the product is in liquid form, enter the number of milliliters (ml). Servings: Enter the number of servings per day prescribed. Enter an integer value like 1, 2, 3, etc. Calories: Enter the number of total calories per day prescribed. Enter calories as a whole number (e.g. 1000). TUBE usage: There are three entries available to describe a Tube feeding order. You must enter information for two of them. The calculator will compute the value of the third entry and display it: Flow Rate (ml/hour): Enter the Flow Rate ordered. Enter the flow rate (ml/hour) as a whole number (e.g. 150). Hours: Enter the total number of tube feeding hours per day ordered. Enter an integer value like 4, 6 etc. Calories: Enter the number of total calories per day ordered. Enter calories as a whole number (e.g. 1000).

19 To Section In this section you specify the Abbott Nutrition product(s) being considered for the patient. You may select one or two products. You should complete this section after you select the current product and enter the order information.

20 Step 5: Filter the list of Abbott Nutrition products. (OPTIONAL) Click on the all check boxes that apply to the comparison you wish to make. The boxes you check will determine the Abbott Nutrition Products you can select from in steps 6 and 7. Formulary: This check box will appear if your organization has provided a formulary to Abbott Nutrition containing the list of Abbott Nutrition products approved for use. If you want these products included in those you can select from, click on this checkbox. Recommended: This checkbox refers to products recommended by Abbott Nutrition as a replacement for the current product you selected. If you want these Abbott Nutrition products included in those you can select from, click on this checkbox. Other: This checkbox refers to all Abbott Nutrition products. If you want all Abbott Nutrition products included in those you can select from, click on this checkbox.

21 Step 6: Specify the first Abbott Nutrition product you wish to compare with the current product selected. Click on the down arrow for the first pull down list named -SELECT A PRODUCT- and select the product name you want from the list that appears. Note that items in the list may be highlighted in green or blue: green items are from your organization s Formulary. You will only see these if you checked the Formulary checkbox in Step 5. blue items are Abbott Nutrition s recommendations. You will only see these if you checked the Recommended checkbox in Step 5.

22 Step 7: Specify the second Abbott Nutrition product you wish to compare with the current product selected. (OPTIONAL) Click on the down arrow for the second pull down list named -SELECT A PRODUCT- and select the product name you want from the list that appears.

23 Calculate Once the From and To information is entered, you are ready to calculate the nutritional values for the from and to products for this patient. Step 8: Click the Calculate button. The output report will appear. When the report appears you will be able to view it, print it or export it to Excel by clicking the icons located in the upper right hand corner.

24 User Input Summary The User Input Summary reiterates the information that you entered into the calculator. Calculation Summary The Calculation Summary compiles the feeding data for the selected products.

25 Nutrient Comparison Information The Nutrient Comparison Information summarizes and compares the nutritional information for the selected products. Extreme differences between products are highlighted.

26 Comparison Overview The Comparison Overview compares general information about the selected products. Percentage & Ration Comparison Information The Percentage & Ration Comparison Information provides a percentage and ratio comparison for the products.
