3 You will see a toolbar on the top of the screen called the Navigation Tabs. The default setting is set for the Dashboard tab. You will also see the following areas: Search, Subjects, Standards, Playlists, Add-On, Preferences, Help. In the dashboard, you will see several areas on the screen. On the left side of the screen, you will see the Video player. On the right side of the screen, you will see three different areas of navigation. The first level, you can choose the following: My Recent Playlist or School Playlist. 4 The search area allows you to search for the following criteria: Keyword Grade Range Publisher Features: o Closed Captioned o Spanish o Downloadable Media with... o Teacher s Guide o Quizzes o Blackline Masters o Other Creation Station Self or District created videos. Subject Search allows you to search by each subject area. When you select a subject area, you will see all of the sub areas under that subject area. 5 You can search for materials based off of the Illinois Learning Standards. Illinois is set as the default setting. The Document Type area, you have the choice of: Assessment Framework, Learning Standards, and Performance Descriptors. The Standards Set allows you to choose the subject areas that are listed along with the Grade Range. If you need additional assistance on this area, please click the Tutorial button in the lower left side of the page. The Playlist tab allows you to create and manage your own playlist along with searching for any Shared Playlist. To create a playlist, you give the playlist a new, enter the subject, select who it is viewable by, enter the grade range, and put in any comments on the playlist. You then decide if you want to share this list. When you are done, click the Save Playlist Info. You would use this tool to save works that you have previewed and have edited to fit your lesson. This takes a little work, but can assist you with presenting videos. If you need additional assistance, be sure to click the Tutorial button in the bottom left side of the menu. 6 Add-Ons is an area that allows us to upload videos or view live streaming video. With the use of Creation Station, we can create a video and upload it to the server for storage. This video can be made viewable only by you or it can be shared with everyone. Videos can include the best of your classroom projects that students have created, event highlights, or school events. Additional training on this feature will be available in the near future. The Video Streams area is for live video feeds that will allow you to play a television broadcast in your classroom. 7 In the preference area, please be sure to check the following: 1. address. Make sure your address is correct. 2. You first and last name. 3. Video Player You need to change the Video Player to Media Player. When you are done, please click the Update button on the bottom left side of the page. 8 The help area allows you to choose the User Guide and view it in an Adobe PDF format. You can also Index or Search for keyword items in the help area. Please remember if you need additional help, you can click the tutorial button for a short video/help to talk you through the process.
