3 1 General Information These Release Notes describe the Fixed Bug of AutoForm plus R7.0.4 Stand-alone. General Information AutoForm plus R7.0.4 is the fourth released patch version of AutoForm plus R7 and is available for download on our website from April 23, With the AutoForm plus R7.0.4 patch a significant bug in AutoForm-Solver plus has been fixed. This bug led to wrong simulation results when kinematic hardening was used for material definition and at the same time the control parameter Thickness Stress was activated. For a detailed bug description please refer to the chapter Fixed Bugs! Note: AutoForm strongly recommends to all AutoForm users to install the AutoForm plus R7.0.4 patch right away to benefit from the implemented bug fix. The compatibility of data files between AutoForm plus R7 and AutoForm plus R7.0.4 is bidirectional, meaning that data files created with AutoForm plus R7.0.4 can be processed in AutoForm plus R7 and vice versa. 4 2 Installation Instructions Front-End and Back-End Windows Prerequisites The Windows patch installer updates a few files of the previously installed AutoForm plus R7. The patch installer will not change any configuration (installation folder, license server configuration, etc.). NOTE: It is essential that all AutoForm plus R7 applications are closed before starting the patch installation! Download of Installation Files 1. Start AutoForm plus R7. 2. Right click on title bar of AutoForm plus R7 window and select the command Check for Updates. 3. AutoForm Software Updates download page is opened in the internet browser. 4. Select the link to download AutoForm plus R7.0.4 Windows 64 bit patch installation file. Installation 1. Download the installation file AutoForm^plus R7.0.4 Patch Installer EN.zip as described above. 2. Log in using an administrator account. 3. Unzip the installation file. 4. Execute file AutoForm^plus_R7.0.4_Patch.exe. 5. Select Install in the Welcome dialog. 6. Depending on your user account control level, you are asked for administrator privileges. 7. After the patch installation is finished, quit the installer by clicking on the Finish button. 3 Release Notes

Download of Installation Files Open AutoForm Updates download page in your internet browser: 1. AutoForm Software Updates download page is opened in the internet browser. 2. Select the link to download AutoForm plus R7.0.4 Linux 64 bit patch installation file. Installation 1. Download the installation file AFplus_R7_0_4_Remote_Linux64.tar.gz as described above. 2. Login in as root 3. Create the AutoForm installation directory (in the following /opt/autoform/afplus is assumed to be the installation directory, but any directory will do) mkdir p /opt/autoform/afplus 4. Copy the archive into the AutoForm installation directory: cp AFplus_R7_0_4_Remote_Linux64.tar.gz /opt/autoform/afplus 5. Unpack the archive in the AutoForm installation directory: cd /opt/autoform/afplus tar zxvf AFplus_R7_0_4_Remote_Linux64.tar.gz 6. 6 3 Release Content AutoForm plus Stand-alone New Features The version R7.0.4 does not contain any New features. Modified Features The version R7.0.4 does not contain any Modified features. Fixed Bugs Solver Combination of Kinematic Hardening and Thickness Stress Due to a solver bug found in R7.0.3, it is not recommended to use Kinematic Hardening in combination with Thickness Stress. When using such combination, in most of the cases, thinning of the material is overestimated which leads to wrong prediction of splits. Effects of the bug become obvious when forming material over sharp tool radii, i.e. in situations with high in-plane strains and high contact stresses. To demonstrate the effects of the bug, results after simulation of drawing operation of a hood inner are shown below. Two simulations are run with Kinematic Hardening ON/OFF and activated Thickness Stress. Hood inner includes multiple features with small radii. These features are formed at the end of the operation without considerable material flow over the radius. Therefore one would expect comparable results when running the simulation with Kinematic Hardening ON or OFF. However, this is clearly not the case. Simulation with Kinematic Hardening ON predicts much higher level of strains and indicates material splitting at the end of the process. 5 Release Notes
