4 Data Manipulations Query Builder in SAS allows data manipulation: Computed Columns to - clean up variables (missing values, data entry errors) - program functional dependencies Summary Statistics

5 Data Manipulation Pick one of the crime types, calculate rate of crime by 100,000. Change the state name to lower case letters (and call the variable region ) Produce output data set that has all of the previous variables and the calculated variables

6 Subsets Filter & Sort allows to subset the data on one or more variables

7 Subset Data Get a subset of the crime data for the year Import the states data set find a choropleth map for crime rate by state

8 Graphics Graphic wizards are available from the Data Viewer

9 Graphics Create one chart showing crime rates (for one type of crime) for all states over the time period Identify individual states, subset on them and plot individual time lines for them.
