2 Page 2 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I M P O R T A N T The successful installation of your TED Pro system requires that a very specific installation-sequence be followed. It is CRITICAL that these steps are completed in the following order: A. The 1st step in the sequence is the installation/setup of the MTU Pro (this document). B. The 2nd step - (only after the MTU Pro is installed/set up), the installation/setup of the Spyder(s). Link to the Spyder Installation Guide: C. The 3rd step - (only after the 1st and 2nd steps have been completed) - TED Commander activation/setup. If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection provided by the equipment may be impaired. TED Pro Quick Start Guide IMPORTANT: This Quick Start Guide is a summary of the main aspects of MTU installation, and is specific to Schlumberger installations. STEP 1 MTU Power Cable Connection Select a 3-pole breaker (40A max) for power cable connection and turn breaker OFF.

3 Page 3 CTs (Current Transformers): CTs clip around the conductor for each phase, with RED polarity dot facing source of power, i.e. the utility. Connectors: Insert the CT connectors with the tab facing UP to lock under the ridge of the MTU connector. STEP 1 MTU Power Cable Connection Select a 3-pole breaker (40A max) for power cable connection and turn breaker OFF. (Connection to a circuit breaker greater than 40A will require a 15A or 20A inline fuse). Connect MTU Power Cable wires as follows: Black to Phase A, Red to Phase B, Blue to Phase C, White to Neutral. Connect MTU power cable to MTU. Power ON breaker. Default Phase Configuration is 3-Phase, 4-wire Wye. NOTE: MTU must be installed on the outside of the panel. Download and RUN the TED Installation Utility (shown below) from the following link: This utility will detect TED devices on your Network. Select MTU3000 when it appears in the window and click LAUNCH IN BROWSER. Copyright Energy, Inc. All rights reserved

5 Page 5 STEP 3 Once on the MTU UI page, select Stats to view the statistics page (cut-out shown below). To ensure the connections are correct, turn on some substantial loads and observe that the Active Power for each phase is positive. Also, the PF (Power Factor) would typically be >800 (80.0%) (in the example on the next page, the PF is 92.0%). If ANY of the phases do not show a positive Active Power and >80.0% PF, then there is a mismatch between the CT and Voltage Connections. Then, while the MTU is under power, remove all CT inputs and place the A wire into the A, B, and C ports to see where the Active Power is positive and has the highest PF. Repeat for B and C. Verify all 3 phases STEP 4 Accessing TED FOOTPRINTS Plug Ethernet cable from ECC to router or network drop. RUN the TED Installation Utility: This utility will detect TED devices on your Network. Select TED6000 (this is the ECC identifier) when it appears in the window and click LAUNCH IN BROWSER.

Once in TED Footprints, select SETTINGS tab and then System Settings... then select System Layout. 7 Page 7 STEP 6 Follow the instructions in the ECC User s Manual for entering settings in System Settings Wizard. Once on the Product Identification tab, CAREFULLY ENTER MTU IDs. For single MTU systems, enter MTU ID here (if you have multiple MTUs, see below) Example System Layout With Multiple MTUs For installations with multiple MTUs and ECCs, give each MTU and the ECC an abbreviated name in the Description field.

This will save all your entries to the TED system. You may make changes in System Settings at any time (changes are not retroactive and do not change historical data). Copyright Energy, Inc. Page 15 Appendix B ROGOWSKI COIL OPTION: Rogowski coils are flexible CT ropes that allow for connecting around multiple conductors or even around bus bars. 1. The Rogowski MTU option available from TED has specially modified inputs to accommodate the output from the Rogowski Coils.

15 Page 15 Appendix B ROGOWSKI COIL OPTION: Rogowski coils are flexible CT ropes that allow for connecting around multiple conductors or even around bus bars. 1. The Rogowski MTU option available from TED has specially modified inputs to accommodate the output from the Rogowski Coils. Care should be taken that standard CTs are not connected to Rogowski MTUs, this could cause irreversible damage to the MTU. 2. The MTUs are calibrated to the coils with which they are shipped. Each coil is marked by phase and must be connected in the proper CT input. (A Black, B RED, C BLUE). 3. Position arrow so it correctly shows flow of current. 4. Verify that the Rogowski check-box on the MTU UI has been selected for proper readings. Coil Spec: 2000A coil is 24 inches. 5000A coil is 36 inches.
