3 MARIMBA JAM PERORMING BAND We offer a 4-piece or a 5-piece Marimba Band for occasions such as Weddings, staff functions, birthday parties and for light entertainment. 4-PIECE BAND The 4-piece band consists of 3 Marimbas (Alto, Tenor and Bass marimba) and an accompanying African Djembe drum. This is the perfect option if you require light, background entertainment. 4-piece band (3 Marimbas & Djembe Drum): R2200 for 1 hour R2700 for 2 hours 5-PIECE BAND The 5-piece band consists of the 3 Marimbas, the African Djembe drum, as well as, an accompanying drum kit. This is the perfect option if you seek a vibrant performance, with more emphasis on the presence of the band. 5-piece band (3 Marimbas, Djembe drum & full drum kit accompaniment): R2900 for 1 hour R3700 for 2 hours

5 MARIMBA JAM TEACHING Our company provides a teaching service at schools in Cape Town. Each of our teachers is trained in the African Marimbas and has graduated from our Marimba Jam Teachers Training Course. SCHOOL GROUP TEACHING Marimbas are very popular in Cape Town and our school group option allows for great team building opportunities as well as exposure to the gift of music. Students in these groups are not expected to read music or to have played another musical instrument before. The focus of these groups is to create energetic and passionate marimba performances that truly demonstrate the vibrant atmosphere of African Music. Each band has one lesson a week and schools can have more than one band. Schools are also responsible for organising performance opportunities for their bands, although we do invite all the bands that we teach to our annual MARIMBA JAM FESTIVAL. Schools are expected to provide their own marimbas and our teachers travel to and from the respective schools for each lesson. (If your school does not yet have marimbas, please contact us for alternative options or for our manufacturer s details)

No prior marimba training is necessary. We work on a level system with these learners and have practical tests every two terms.

6 PRIVATE LESSONS Our private lessons are for individual students. These are for anyone who wants a broader Marimba Tuition. These lessons are more focused on developing the technical skills of the learner and increasing their musical knowledge. We welcome all age groups from beginners to more advanced. No prior marimba training is necessary. We work on a level system with these learners and have practical tests every two terms. These encourage the learners to work hard and achieve the goals of each level. Most of our individual students are invited to join our Marimba Jam Learners Group Ensemble after their first test. This allows our individual students to get the full African Marimba experience, whilst still being able to grow substantially as an individual marimba player. We organise a few performance opportunities for our private learners and groups throughout the yearincluding our annual MARIMBA JAM FESTIVAL which is the highlight of the year! Our private lessons take place at Springfield Convent School, which is based in St John s Road in Wynberg.

PRIVATE LESSON RATES: Our private lessons work on a termly rate. This rate includes 8 lessons per term which can be organized according to each individual s schedule.

Beginners (level 1-3) 30 minutes R800 per person/per term Seniors (level 4-8) 50 minutes R1400 per person/per term Ensemble (by invitation after having completed level 1) 60 minutes R550 per person/per term SIBLINGS If all siblings are younger than 13 years old, we offer group sibling lessons. These lessons will be slightly longer, to compensate for individual attention needed during the lesson; however, the rates will remain the same per child. Beginners (level 1-3) 45 minutes R800 per person/per term Seniors (level 4-8) 60 minutes R1400 per person/per term

8 WORKSHOPS We offer a variety of workshops and team building sessions to meet your specific needs. Our workshops are facilitated by trained Marimba Jam Teachers who strive to create an energetic and fun environment. SCHOOL WORKSHOPS We provide high-energy workshops for all age-groups. This is the perfect option if your school wishes to have once-off marimba workshops to expose learners to the instrument, who do not necessarily wish to commit to a school band. Our trained Marimba Jam Teachers will come in to the school for up to 2hours per session. This is great for Grade 8 Orientation or team building for the Student Council. Schools are required to provide their own marimbas for these workshops. RATES 1 hour workshop: R35 per person 2 hour workshop: R50 per person *Please note that a minimum of 6 people is required per workshop
