6 82 million smartphones are in circulation today in the U.S. 1 in every 3 people, 13 and older, owns one and that figure is expected to double by Forrester Research

7 But mobile commerce is expected to account for $6 billion, or just 2% of overall e-commerce sales this year, according to Forrester Research.

8 FORRESTER 2011 RESEARCH The mobile/social/local combo will explode in usage but generate little revenue. Mobile marketing spend will grow significantly and surpass $1 billion in the US as consumers spend billions via mobile. Companies will invest first in convenient services for customers.
