3 1. Quick start PIM sync service supports synchronization of personal information including contacts, calendar events, notes & bookmarks (depends on handset capability). Please check whether your handset support the service by: o Go to PCCW mobile web site ( o Select Services and Pricing o Select mobile Sync o Select Supported handset list Please follow these steps to start using the PIM sync service at native client handsets: 1. Subscribe to the mobile Sync service via CS hotline Obtain PIM sync configuration by one of the following methods: For handset auto-configure support, configuration could be performed by taking the following steps: - PCCW mobile WAP site (wap.pccwmobile.com) 1. Go to wap.pccwmobile.com with your handset 2. Select MINGLE 3. Select mobile Sync 4. Choose Get PIM sync handset settings 5. Save configuration on handset - PCCW mobile web site ( 1. Go to PCCW mobile web site 2. Select Services and Pricing > mobile Sync 3. After logging into the account, select Settings 4. To choose handset manually, click the link in please click here to choose your handset model. Select the handset model and press the Send button 5. If you do not know the handset model, click the link in please click here and the handset setting will be sent to your handset automatically. Press the Auto-detect button and the WAP-push link will sent to handset. Access the WAP site 6. Setting will be sent to handset. Save the configuration on your handset - Dial the USSD code on your handset 1. Dial *117# 2. Access the WAP link received 3. Download the setting For handset not support auto-configure: - After login, select Settings - Click on the hyperlink of To set up your handset manually, please click here to choose your handset model. - Select the handset you want to setup. (If you want to get the PIN code, please select Settings > Get pairing PIN > Submit, the PIN code will be send to your handset via SMS shortly.

Perform synchronization by following the steps below for different brands of handset: Nokia S40 (E.g. 3500, 5200, 5220, 5300, 6300) - Menu > Settings > Sync and backup > Data transfer > Server sync - Select the profile PIM sync Nokia S60 S60 v3.1 (E.g. E63, E66, E71, N81, N82) - Menu > Tools > sync - Select the profile PIM sync - Select Synchronize on handset Nokia S60 S60 v3.2 (E.g.N78, N79, N85, N96) - Menu > Tools > sync - If it is in PIM sync profile, choose options > synchronize - If it is not PIM sync profile, choose options > Change active profile > PIM sync; choose options > synchronize Sony Ericsson - Menu > Organizer > Synchronization - Select the PIM sync profile - Select start on handset Samsung - Menu > Connectivity - Select the PIM sync profile - Select synchronize on handset Motorola - Settings > Connectivity > Motosync > Sync - Select the PIM sync profile - Select synchronize on handset Please follow these steps to start using the PIM sync service at Windows mobile / Android / Blackberry handsets: 1 Subscribe to the mobile Sync package 2 To download Windows Mobile / Android / Blackberry could be performed by taking the following steps: - Dial USSD code for get the appropriate client to use. 1 Dial *117# 2 Access the WAP link in SMS received 3 Read & agree the T&C 4 Download & install the client Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1 (E.g. Samsung i908, HTC Touch Pro II, HTC Touch 3G) - Go to the PIM sync client - Press Sync to synchronize the personal data Android 1.5 (E.g. HTC Hero) - Go to the PIM sync client - Press sync to synchronize the personal data Blackberry 4.6 (E.g. Blackberry Bold)

5 - Go to the PIM sync client - Press sync to synchronize the personal data Please follow these steps to start using PIM sync Outlook / Outlook Express client 1. Subscribe to mobile Sync package 2. Please login My mobile Sync account and then go to Settings to download the clients 3. In "Setup" tab, Input account information (mobile number and pairing PIN) and click "Save" 4. In "Sync" tab, press "Sync" Remarks: 1. Please note that synchronization must be completed after first time configuration in order to backup your personal information 2. System only synchronize and backup your personal information if you initiate the synchronization via handset or website 3. "Sync interval" on the handset must be configured in order to use the auto-sync features. Please note that not all handsets support auto-sync feature 4. When install the Android client, user may experience a prompt for authorize installation of non-android market application, please accept it and start installation again. 5. If you can t sync your personal data to the server, please go to Setup and make sure Mobile Number and Paring PIN (for Outlook and Outlook Express client only) are correct. For Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile client, please click Get Account Setting to get the correct account setting. 6. During installation of BlackBerry client, you may be asked for Would you like to grant PIM sync Trusted Application status? Please click Yes to continue.

6 7. During the first synchronization of BlackBerry client, you may be asked to allow it to access pbb.pccwmobile.com. Please click Allow button to continue.

8 Troubleshooting A. Change / Lost handset Q: What should I do if I change/lose my handset in order to continue using the PIM sync service on my new handset? A: Get the PIM sync configuration on your new handset. For details, please refer to quickstart section. Please note that synchronization must be completed in the old handset before retrieving personal information on the new handset. B. Non-standard field handling Q: I found that some of the information in contacts (e.g. Internet phone) in my handset do not show on the server. How can I synchronize the information? A: In the case of such fields, the server will synchronize the information with your handset and store it. D. Charges Q: Will there be an extra GPRS charge to the monthly fee? A: No GPRS charge. Q: How will service be charged if I use the service outside Hong Kong? A: A GPRS roaming fee will be charged. C. PIM sync client Q: What OS or application does PIM sync client support? A: PIM sync client supports the following OS and applications - Android 1.5 (e.g. HTC Hero) - Windows Mobile 6.0 or 6.1 (e.g. SS i908, HTC Touch 3G) - Blackberry 4.6 (e.g. BB Bold) - Outlook 2000, XP, 2003 on Windows XP and Windows Vista - Outlook Express 6.0 on Windows XP For details of compatible handset models, please visit > Services and Pricing > mobile Sync. E. Data connection and synchronization Q: Which connection should I choose during synchronization? A: Please choose PCCW 3G Q: How do I stop the prompt from asking which access point should be used? A: By taking the following steps (below example is for handset of OS S60): Menu > Tools > sync

9 Select the PIM sync profile Press Options > Edit sync profile > Connection settings Select Access point > User defined > PCCW 3G Q: What should I do if I receive the SMS mobile Sync synchronization is incomplete. Please synchronize again.? A: Please try to perform synchronization again. Q: How do I make the handset auto synchronize with server? A: Open the PIM sync profile on the handset. Modify the sync interval to a desired interval and save. Please note that this setting is not supported by all handsets. F. Account information Q: What is a pairing PIN? A: Pairing PIN is the password required for synchronization between handset and server. Q: How do I change the pairing PIN? A: There are two ways to change pairing PIN: PCCW mobile web site: o After logging into the account, select Settings > Customize pairing PIN PCCW mobile WAP site o Go to PCCW mobile WAP site (wap.pccwmobile.com) o Select MINGLE o Select mobile Sync o Select Customize pairing PIN Q: What should I do if I forget my pairing PIN? A: Method 1 dial *117*1# on your handset Method 2 Go to PCCW mobile web site, logon to your account. Select Settings > Get pairing PIN. Pairing PIN will be sent to you through SMS. Q: How do I get my account summary? A: Method 1: Dial *117*21# (English) or *117*22# (Chinese) on handset Method 2: Logon to your account and select Summary. Q: Can I recover my information if I accidentally synchronize blank information to server? A: Completed synchronization is required for the following recovery method. a. Trash bin on web portal: Select Trash of Contacts, Calendar, Notes or Bookmarks Select the details to restore Perform a synchronization b. If there is nothing inside the trash bin, please try: Select Backup of Contacts, Calendar, Notes or Bookmarks Press Backup button to restore* Perform a synchronization

10 * Please note the backup record restored is the previous master record. Master record time could be checked in Summary section c. If the above two methods still cannot retrieve the information, please contact our customer service hotline Q: If my handset contains contacts in which their full name and mobile number is the same, how will system handle? A: System will treat it as same contact and will only upload the last one to the server Q: What does Duplicated contacts mean in the account summary SMS after synchronization is performed? A: It means your handset contains contacts which full name and mobile number are the same. The SMS will show the number of duplicated contacts. Please note that within each group of duplicated contacts, only one of the them will be uploaded to server. Q: Can I import or export my PIM? A: Yes. System supports importing of Contacts, Calendar and Notes, and exporting of Contacts, Calendar, Notes and Bookmarks Q: How is my PIM backed up on the server? A: Yes. There are two types of backup: 1. Master record on server o Select Contact / Calendar / Notes / Bookmarks o Select "Backup o Click Backup button o A master record will be created on the server. 2. Automatic backup on daily basis Q: Which browser supports PIM sync? A: Microsoft IE 6.0 or above and FireFox 3.0 or above Q: Why can t Chinese characters be viewed on my handset after synchronization? A: The web portal input must be in UTF-8 encoding when contacts are modified. Q: Can I stop the SMS alert after performing synchronization? A: Select Settings > Sync summary SMS alert setting > Disable > Save. Q: How long will my calendar events be kept on the server? A: Events older than one year will be automatically deleted. Q: How long will my other PIM (personal information manager) data (except calendar) be kept on the server? A: PIM data will be stored on the server as long as you subscribe to the service. Q: Which language does the PIM sync service support?

11 A: English, traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese and Japanese. Q: Could I delete my PIM data on handset remotely? A: No. Q: Is my PIM safely stored on server? A: Yes. System use DES encryption to store information and the server is located at switch center in which only authorized people could access. Also, SSL certificate would be used when data transfer (Only for those handset support SSL). Q: My handset has the bookmark synchronization function, but why can't my bookmarks saved on the server? A: Due to capability of Nokia handset, it does not support bookmark synchronization Q: Is there any character limitation on the fields of Contacts? A: Yes. Characters that exceed the limitation will be truncated. A: No. Q: Is there a server size capacity limit? A: It is the same capacity as your handset limit. Q: Can I backup my SMS and MMS too? A: You can refer to our SMS BOXX service. Q: What is the import format of the csv files for contacts? A: Import format for contact: o Line1: NAME,HOME PHONE,BUSINESS PHONE,MOBILE PHONE, ADDRESS o Starting from Line2: <first name><space><middle name><space><last name>, Home mobile, Business mobile, Other mobile, address Q: What is the import format of the csv files for calendar?

A: Different handsets support different fields in contact and calendar items. Therefore, a field appears in PIM sync web site may not be stored by a handset. This applies to PIM sync client as well. Q: Why some items cannot be synchronized by PIM sync client? A: Some items may be too long to be synchronized. These items are recorded in Incomplete Items. Please reduce the length of these items try to synchronize again. Q: Can I disable PIM sync client from synchronizing during roaming? A: Please disable Sync during roaming in Setting
