Introduction SoLo DTMF Client gives You full mobility for Your workforce with FULL PABX features (desk phone features) on Your mobile phone. Mobile calls are routed through the corporate PABX, transforming mobile calls into fixed line calls. The main advantages of this solution are: Drastic cost reductions (up to 80%) Visibility of all corporate calls (mobile + fixed), one network to manage One Business Number (depending on the operator) Possibility of managing the services of desk phones directly from mobile phones All services are supported by SoLo DTMF Client. The functioning of services is however subject to the functions provided by your PABX. SoLo Client Send request for outgoingcall via GSM channel GSM Channel PRI BRI T1-E1 GSM PBX PBX phonescalled party PRI BRI T1-E1 GSM SKYPE Called party To achieve further savings on telephony costs, your mobile plan should include free phone calls from your corporate mobile phones to your corporate desk phones, and/or you should install a GSM gateway on your PABX and its SIMs should be included in your Business User Group (i.e. a group of fixed line numbers and mobile numbers within your company that can make calls to corporate numbers for free). You can download this manual also from our website at under Resources. Should you need further support, please contact us at support@sosoftware.com. Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 3-18
General Installation Requirements DISA Service Check availability of DISA Service (1) on your PABX. If it is not present, please contact your PABX supplier to check if they can activate the service. Take note of the procedure to access the service: telephone number of DISA service, password, etc. GSM Gateway Should your mobile plan not include free phone calls from your corporate mobile phones to your corporate desk phones, you should install GSM gateways on your PABX. GSM gateways are usually connected to PABXs via ISDN, Analog or SIP lines. You can then configure your PABX by routing calls from GSM Gateways to DISA Service. Compatibility Take note of mobile phone firmware version. - For BlackBerry: Menu Options / About / v.. (e.g.: BlackBerry 8300 v ) - For Nokia: Menu / Tools / About / v Check if the Nokia or BlackBerry phone models to be used with SoLo Client are compatible. You can find the list of compatible models on our website: Installation Check List Before starting the installation of SoLo DTMF Client, check the following: PABX: Telephone number of DISA service (fixed line number or GSM gateway number) Procedure and password to access DISA service Extension number to be paired with GSM phone Desk phone password (if required to access DISA service) Mobile phone: Mobile phone number PIN Code (in case you need to turn the mobile on and off) IMEI Code of GSM phone (2) Software: Software to manage mobile phone (Nokia PC Suite / BlackBerry Desktop Manager) USB cable to connect PC and GSM phone or Bluetooth SoLo DTMF Client: SoLo DTMF Client Software to be installed into mobile phone (3) SoLo DTMF Client Configuration file (3) SoLo DTMF Client registration code (4) Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 4-18
(1) Direct Inward System Access (DISA). By using this service, an external caller can access PABX internal services. Access to service usually involves control of Caller s ID or use of password (2) For Nokia phones enter *#06# / For BlackBerry see Menu Options/Status (3) Download from (4) Registration code is sent via after purchasing SoLo DTMF Client Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 5-18
Configuration file (.solo) Introduction When you download SoLo DTMF Client from you have the executable file and a text file: Config.solo. The latter is the configuration file for SoLo DTMF Client where you have to set the parameters to access PABX services. If the procedure to access DISA service includes dialling user s extension number or user s password, you need to create a customized configuration file for each SoLo user. When you have set the file for the first user, copy and paste it and rename it with the name or the extension numbers of other users, without changing the file extension [.solo]. We recommend the use of Windows Notepad to modify the file. Please follow the rules below when compiling the configuration file: Do not change any values on the left of the [=] symbol Do not cancel or insert any lines Modify only values between [=] and [;] symbols Do not change file extension (.solo) All parameters to enable communication between SoLo DTMF Client and PABX and to access all internal services must be set in this file. The file is usually compiled by the system installer. Please find a detailed description of each configuration file line on the following pages. Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 6-18
File.solo The following is an example of.solo file. The file represented here is divided in sections to ease compilation. Features of each file line are explained on the following pages according to the file below. Do not change the lines in the original file. This is only an example. General Parameters DID_PREFIX = 19; USERS_EMERGENCY_NUMBERS = 123,999,911; USERS_PIN_CODE = 1111; ARS_CODE = 9; INTERNATIONAL_DIRECT_DIAL_PREFIX = 00; URL_UPDATE LOGO_KEY = ; ONE_PERSONAL_NUMBER = ; COMPANY_NAME VERSION = 4.2; TYPE = 2; PABXPIN = 222; DEVICENUMBER = 255; = = SoSoftware; USER_ID = ; END_CHAR =; INTERNAL_NUMBER_LENGTH = 4; NATIONAL_DIRECT_DIAL_PREFIX =0; HOME_COUNTRY_DIAL_CODE =+39; TRANSFER_TYPE = 1; PHONE_VIRTUAL = 0; Templates SPEECH_ACCESS_NUMBER = 0; ACTIVE_APPEARANCE_SELECT = 0; AUTO_CALL_BACK_TOGGLE = 0; CALL_FORWARDING_ALL_ACTIVATION = 0; CALL_FORWARDING_BUSY_NO_ANSWER_ACTIVATION = 0; CALL_FORWARDING_DISABLE = 0; CALLING_PARTY_NUMBER_BLOCK = 0; CALLING_PARTY_NUMBER_UNBLOCK = 0; CALL_PARK = 0; CALL_PICKUP_DIRECTED = 0; CALL_PICKUP_GROUP = 0; CALL_PICKUP_GROUP_EXTENDED = 0; CALL_UNPARK = 0; CONFERENCE_ON_ANSWER = 0; Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 7-18

Section 1: General Parameters DID_PREFIX = ; You can insert the root of the DISA number(s) in this tag to simplify compilation of Templates (see Section 2). Compiling this tag is useful when the PABX uses several numbers to access DISA service. Example: If you use the numbers to access internal services here you should insert: DID_PREFIX = ; In the file section Template you should insert the rest of the number 200, 201 level with the service. USERS_EMERGENCY_NUMBERS = ; This is a required tag and it specifies the numbers dialled for emergency. This field accepts multiple numbers separated by commas. These numbers will be dialled directly via GSM network and not via SoLo. Example: USERS_EMERGENCY_NUMBERS =112,113,115,118; USERS_PIN_CODE = ; This is an optional tag. When you set a password, the Client will prompt for this PIN to access configuration from SoLo DTMF Client (from the mobile phone). This is usually set by installers. Example: USERS_PIN_CODE = 1111; ARS_CODE = ; Insert the code used by the PABX to access telephone lines. This number will be automatically added before the telephone numbers dialled via SoLo Client and longer than extension number length set in tag INTERNAL_NUMBER_LENGTH. Example: ARS_CODE = 0; INTERNATIONAL_DIRECT_DIAL_PREFIX = ; This required tag specifies the international call prefix for your country. This international code substitutes the [ + ] symbol in the numbers of your telephone contacts. The code for Europe is 00. Example: INTERNATIONAL_DIRECT_DIAL_PREFIX = 00; URL_UPDATE = ; Do not change. This required tag is to update SoLo DTMF Client from your mobile phone via data channel. Example: URL_UPDATE = LOGO_KEY = ; This tag must be set = to load your logo on GSM display when using SoLo DTMF Client. Example: LOGO_KEY = ; Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 9-18
ONE_PERSONAL_NUMBER = ; This is only a descriptive tag. The number inserted here will be shown on GSM display, SoLo DTMF Client Main Menu. Example: ONE_PERSONAL_NUMBER = ; COMPANY_NAME = ; As per ONE_PERSONAL_NUMBER Example: COMPANY_NAME = Alpha Beta Ltd.; VERSION = ; This is only a descriptive tag. Insert the version of SoLo DTMF Client you have Example: VERSION= 4.2; TYPE = ; This required tag is linked to the registration code and must be set = 2. Example: TYPE = 2; PABXPIN = ; Code to access the DISA service of your PABX. Ask your PABX supplier if you don t know it. This value represents the [ S ] variable in the compilation of Templates to access PABX services. Example: PABXPIN = 111; DEVICENUMBER = ; Extension number assigned to mobile phone. This is required by the DISA service of some PABXs (e.g.: Siemens). This value represents the [ D ] variable in the compilation of Templates to access PABX services. Example: DEVICENUMBER = 512; USER_ID = ; Example: USER_ID = ; END_CHAR = ; Character to set the end of the desired dialling. Some PABXs require the use of the # symbol at the end of the outgoing dialling via DISA. Example: END_CHAR = #; INTERNAL_NUMBER_LENGTH = ; This tag specifies the number of digits for internal number. It sets the dial plan length of the PABX. Should there be several number lengths, insert the longest one here. The ARS code will be automatically inserted before all numbers dialled via SoLo DTMF Client which are longer than the value set here. Example: INTERNAL_NUMBER_LENGTH = 3; Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 10-18
NATIONAL_DIRECT_DIAL_PREFIX = ; Set here the number to be inserted automatically before local network numbers. In some countries, you must insert zero before local network numbers when you phone using the local network. If you call the same number from abroad, you don t need to put zero. Example: Number inserted in mobile phone contacts: : If you call it from abroad you dial: If you call it using the local network you must dial: In this case you should put: NATIONAL_DIRECT_DIAL_PREFIX = 0; Note: In Italy this tag must be empty, because you dial the same number both from international and national networks. HOME_COUNTRY_DIAL_CODE = ; This tag is for the international code of your home country. This code is usually set also before numbers in the mobile phone contacts. Example: or This format is not accepted by fixed line networks. SoLo DTMF Client removes this code when dialling numbers from the mobile phone contacts before sending the number to the PABX. If the international code is different, then it is not removed but the [ + ] symbol will be substituted for [ 00 ], which is taken from [ INTERNATIONAL_DIRECT_DIAL_PREFIX = 00; ] Example: HOME_COUNTRY_DIAL_CODE = +41; TRANSFER_TYPE = ; This tag specifies the type of call transfer. Available values are: 1 operator transfer; 2 server transfer; 3 SoLo transfer Example: TRANSFER_TYPE = 1; PHONE_VIRTUAL = ; Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 11-18
Section 2: Templates INTRODUCTION Access to DISA service usually requires the following procedure: - Call the number of DISA service - Send password via DTMF - Send number to be called or number of service to be enabled / disabled via DTMF The procedure to access the service may change for different PABXs: - Some PABXs check Caller s number and do not require a password (e.g. Avaya) - Some PABXs require the extension number and its password (e.g. Siemens) - Other PABXs require only a password (e.g. Mitel) Below you can find information about how to set Templates, which will be used by SoLo DTMF Client to automatically access services on your PABX. We use letters to ease the compilation of Templates as per table below. Code Description TAG, P Separator between the number you want to call and what is sent via DTMF Pause of 1 second (it is possible to have more than one P if necessary) S Password to access the service PABXPIN = ; D Extension number to access the service DEVICENUMBER = ; N Number you want to call (number dialled by user in SoLo DTMF Client) General Example IDLE_APPEARANCE_SELECT ,PDS#N In the Template shown above, SoLo DTMF Client calls number After the comma, you can see what is sent via DTMF: It waits for 1 second (P) Then it sends what is set in Tag DEVICENUMBER (D) Then it sends what is set in Tag PABXPIN (S) After that it sends the symbol # Finally it sends the telephone number dialled by the user or selected from Contacts Issue 4.2 ( ) Page 12-18
