3 CHIP & PIN overview Chip & PIN (Personal Identification Number) technology is becoming an established safety and security standard for Card transactions in the Saudi market. In other markets where Chip & PIN technology has been implemented, it has provided enhanced protection against fraud from lost, stolen, and counterfeit Cards. In an effort to provide our Cardmembers with greater protection against Card fraud, American Express Saudi Arabia will soon be issuing Cards with Chip & PIN technology. It s time to choose your PIN.

4 FAQS What is a chip and PIN Card? - A 'chip and Pin' Card is an American Express Credit or Charge Card that has a microchip embedded in the Card. The chip allows you to select your own Personal Identification Number (PIN) and use it to complete transactions on your Card. Are chip and PIN Cards more secure than magnetic stripe Cards? - Security is our number one priority so regardless of whether your Card has a chip or not you will be protected by our Fraud Protection Guarantee. This means provided you take reasonable care with your Account details and do not unreasonably delay in notifying us if you notice a charge you don't recognize, you won't be held liable for any fraudulent charges. How do I activate the Chip and PIN feature on my Card? - You can activate the chip and pin feature and select a PIN by logging into your online account through our Smartphone app or secure online website. 5 FAQS My PIN is locked, what do I do? - If you received an SMS or message from American Express informing you that your PIN is locked, you'll be able to unlock it and select a new PIN instantly in our secure Online Services website or smartphone app whenever you want. Alternatively you can call us on the number on the back of your Card and request a reminder to be sent to you by address recorded with American Express Saudi Arabia. Do I need a PIN if I'm travelling overseas? - Globally, an increasing number of merchants prefer customers to use a PIN instead of signing. So if you are planning on travelling overseas, we recommend you set up and memorize a PIN for all your Cards before you go. You can select or view your PIN on our secure website whenever you want or by calling the number on the back of your Card. Since Supplementary Cards now need a PIN to be used, do I still have the option not to allow cash withdrawals on them? - Yes, you can call customer service and ask to deactivate the cash facility for your Supplementary Cards.

6 How to convert your Card to Chip & PIN

7 Visit our website and access your account. Choose My Cards from the Main Menu.

8 A new tab Activate Chip and Pin will be next to each card. For the time, you can choose which card/s you would like to activate CHIP and PIN. Then you can choose either to use your existing PIN (PIN used for Cash) or create a new PIN

9 When choosing Use existing PIN, an authentication SMS will be sent to your mobile. Enter the SMS code, click on "Submit" and you're done! Your card is now CHIP and PIN. To create a new PIN, click on Create a new PIN

10 Enter the authentication SMS sent to your mobile Choose a new 4 digit PIN.

11 Your card is now CHIP and PIN with the new PIN you chose.

12 Using the Application Enter your passcode to access your account. Choose manage cards option. Select the card (basic /supplementary) that you want to activate the Chip & Pin for.

13 Using the Application Tap the activate Chip & PIN option. Select a new PIN or use your existing one. Congratulations, Your card is CHIP and PIN.
