3 Thank you for buying our product! We hope it will help to answer some weather based questions. WARNING: The LI-ION batteries in the station may get hot, explode or ignite and cause serious injury if exposed to abuse conditions. Be sure to follow the safety warnings listed below: Do not connect the positive terminal and negative terminal of the battery to each other with any metal object (such as wire). Do not carry or store battery together with necklaces, hairpins or other metal objects. Do not pierce the battery with nails, strike the battery with a hammer, step on the battery or otherwise subject it to strong impacts or shocks. Do not expose battery to water or salt water, or allow the battery to get wet. Do not charge unattended, and over 4.2V! Connect only Holfuy batteries (3.7V) to your station, if it s changeable. Other type of battery packs may damage your station! 3

5 HOW TO SET UP YOUR STATION: REGISTER ON HOLFUY WEB: Please fill the registration form, which you can reach by click on the login button at the top right button of any page, then press the register button. Or use this link: Login from Some hours after the registration we will connect your station with your account in the Holfuy system. We write an when it s done. SETUP THE STATION'S PAGE: After logging in you can reach your station's setup page under My Stations button. Please fill every field on the station setup form. Data modification can be done with user password. INSERT A SIM CARD: MyStations button Unscrew the four screws on the top of the box, open it carefully. Insert a PIN code free SIM card to your station. You can turn off the SIM PIN with any GSM cell phone. POWER ON THE STATION: Pull (disconnect) the RED+BLACK jumpers (7) rotate them with 90, take them back. Now your station is ON and it starts blinking (with the green and red LEDs). 5

6 SET THE APN (IF YOUR APN IS PRELOADED GO TO THE NEXT STEP): If the APN is not preloaded to your station, you will need a mobile phone. Press the button on the main panel Reset your station both LEDs will turn on Release the button immediately after the LEDs turned off. Both LEDs will flash 3 times, then they will flash alternately for 3minutes. Send the following SMS to your station's SIM: Hstation numberapn:your apn e.g: H102APN:internet If the station gets the SMS the alternate flash will stop, and if will try to connect to Holfuy server with the new APN. CHECK IF THE STATION IS CONNECTED TO SERVER: When a station connects to the server it sends a RESTARTED state message. State messages are shown at the bottom of station's setup page, under the battery voltage graph. FIX THE ROTOR, VANE: For the standard sensor: Place the rotor in the shaft and rotate it with a little angle, then the carbon plate will goes under the three nubs/pins, and it will be mechanically stable. Put a very little UV light resistant Epoxy/ Super Glue to the connection of the carbon plate and nubs/pins (three points). Be careful the glue cannot goes to the bearings! Slide Wind Vane onto carbon shaft and secure with adhesive. Eg.: UV light resistant Epoxy/ Super Glue Note: Very little glue is required to hold the wind vane in place as this connection is very lightly stressed. For the stronger sensor (black): NO GLUE NEEDED Place the rotor in the metal shaft in the bottom, fix it with an imbus screw (the imbus tool is in the plastic packet with the screws for mounting). Place the vane int the shaft at the top, fix it with an imbus screw as well. The small imbus screws are already in the parts. 6

7 SOLAR CELL'S DIRECTION: The best direction for the solar cell is SSE. Choose the marked (black arrow) hole in the mounting arm for the correct vertical angle. MOUNTING: You can mount your station to any mast (2*radius=diameter<5cm). First fix the sensor holder on the mast, faced to the ideal/main wind direction. After it fix your station, and then finish with the wind speed sensor. If there is too much cable left you can fix it to the sensor holder. The mounting kit is made from stainless steel. SEND THE NULL DIRECTION TO THE SERVER: Please do the following steps: Hold the wind vane at north (0 ) direction while the process not done. Press the button on the main panel both LEDs will turn on. Release the button immediately after the LEDs turned off. Both LEDs will flash 3 times, then you can check the new null direction offset at your station's setup page. CLOSE THE BOX: Don t forget to reconnect the T-Plug (red) from the solar cells before closing the box! Make sure that the gasket is on its place, and close the box strong with the 4 screws. The wet air may damage the station! CHARGING: If your station gets discharged, and you don t want to wait till the next sunny day, you can recharge it with any Micro USB charger (eg. mobile phone chargers). CHARGE WITH MICRO USB: Connect the blue jumper to the Charge SW (8). Connect the USB charger to the Micro USB port (6). Wait till the station voltage goes over 4.13V. You can monitor your station s voltage next to your station s name under MyStations. After it you can disconnect your charger, and the blue jumper! Note that you don t have to wait till 100% voltage, you can stop charging at any time. After charging don t forget to disconnect the blue jumper! 7

8 SMS FUNCTIONS: INCOMING SMS FORWARDING: If your station gets an SMS it will forward it to the Holfuy database, and the message will be shown at the bottom of the station's control page. RESET: Command: Example: Function: Reply: Hstation numberreset H102RESET Station will perform a software reset. The station won't reply to this SMS, but you can check for the RESET message at the station's control page. TEST: Command: Example: Function: Reply: Hstation numbert H102T Station will send a test SMS. A test SMS with battery voltage, temperature, network signal strength, firmware. Warning: Test SMS isn t work in deep sleep mode. APN: Command: Example: Function: Reply: Hstation numberapn:your apn H102APN:internet Station will save the APN to the inner non volatile memory. New APN message at the station's control page. Warning: Be careful with this command! If you send a wrong APN to the station it won't send any data. Only use this command in station setup procedure or for error handling! DIR: Command: Example: Hstation numberdir H102DIR Function: Station will save the actual wind direction as North (0 ). Reply: NULLDIR message at the station's control page. 8

9 ERROR HANDLING: When an error occurred the station stays in sleep mode while the error not solved. In every 5 (15) minutes the station will wake up and try to solve the error. HOW TO GET THE ERROR CODE: 1: Press the button Green LED will flash ones. 2: The Red/Red+Green LED will flashes the ERR CODE. 3: Green LED flash ones. ERROR CODES: 1: GSM error: The controller can t communicate with the GMS module, when this error occurs please contact us. 2: APN error: The station can t connect with the actual APN to the Holfuy server. You can send the right APN with an APN setter SMS. 3: Empty battery: The batteries are empty. Wait till some shiny day, or recharge the batteries with a Lithium charger. 4: Weak network strength: Please select another mobile operator, or contact us for an antenna with better gain. 6: Low battery: The batteries are low. Station sends only one LIFESIGNAL message in a DAY with the actual battery voltage. 10: SIM card not inserted: Please insert a SIM card without SIM LOCK. If a SIM already inserted try it with your mobile phone. If it works please contact us. 9
