2 ST-65 module GSM v1.0.7 Statement of compliance no 40/2011 We, the company TECH, headquartered in Wieprz 1047A, Wieprz, declare with full liability, that the controller ST 65 GSM, produced by us, is compliant with the following Directives of the European Union: RTTE 1999/5/EC, LVD 2006/95/EC, EMC 2004/108/EC. SAFETY During the installation and operation of Module ST-65 GSM, the following safety principles must be observed: all installation works should be performed after disconnecting voltage before activating the module, it should be checked whether, in the vicinity, there is no device susceptible to GSM network radio frequency signals such as e.g. electronic medical apparatus it is advisable that the distance between the working module and the heart simulator was over 20 cm it is required to strictly observe the prohibitions concerning mounting the module in areas labelled with a ban on using devices emitting radio waves II. APPLICATION The GSM module is a device cooperating with the controllers of TECH company, allowing to remotely control the condition of the boiler operation with the use of a mobile phone. The User (via module ST-65) shall be notified with an SMS message on every boiler controller alarm. Additionally, by sending an appropriate SMS message at any time, the user receives a return message with the information on the current temperature of all sensors. An additional advantage of the device is the possibility to change the set temperature of any circulation by means of a mobile phone. -3-

SIM CARD Module ST-65 GSM will not operate without a correctly inserted and configured SIM card. In the case when the module detects no sim card, it will switch to standby mode, waiting for a card to be inserted. The SIM card may be inserted ONLY at the time when the controller screen displays the text: "Insert the card Press the button" In the case of changing the sim card during module operation, use the option in the module menu: "Change the sim card" After selecting this option, the module will switch to standby mode, waiting for the card to be changed, wait for a message (as above). To insert the card, unscrew four fixing screws and open the casing. -5-

6 ST-65 module GSM v1.0.7 METHOD OF INSERTING THE SIM CARD: After inserting the sim card, press any button, the module will activate and initiate a new card. If the new card requires entering the pin code, you will be asked to enter the code. The module will remember the code and in the case of restarting, it will use the pin saved in the memory. The sim card pin can be set in the menu: GSM settings Sim card pin Note!!! The sim card pin is not masked in the module menu, in the event of using the card for a different purpose, pin code should be changed to a new one!! NOTE!!! Replacement of the sim card in a different manner may result in damaging the module!!! V. COLLECTING DATA FROM THE CONTROLLER Module ST-65 GSM may work independently or with a controller by TECH company, equipped with RS communication and handling the external GSM module. After connecting, by means of RS232 communication cable (with RJ plugs, in a set) in the controller installer menu, select, in the option " GSM module" activated. -6-

7 Module ST-65 GSM, after correct connection with a controller, will receive valid parameters of its work. These parameters may be sent back by the module, upon request, in the form of an sms message to the user. The SMS is sent to any authorized phone number. After sending to the module phone number the text "" or an authorization pin, data with controller working parameters will be sent back. Particular parameters are displayed in a new line, the phrases are separated with spaces (the ordinal number is always separated by a space from the set one). To change the setting of boiler temperatures using a mobile phone, send an sms message to the module ST-65 phone number, with the following content: [pin authorization] e.g [space] [no. ] [space] [value] [;] ; ; Namely: ; 2 60; This command (if authorization pin is set to "9999") will change the set CH to 65 oc and the set HUW to 60 oc. -7-

CONTACT AND TEMPERATURE SENSORS Module ST-65 has 2 additional sensor connectors, one contact and one controlled output, operating independently from the boiler controller, with a universal application: 1) Two connectors intended for connection of temperature sensors (KTY) marked as T1, T2 (option no sensors in the set). The scope of sensors settings is within the range from - 10 to + 85 oc. 2) One connector detecting short circuit/opening of contacts. Marked as Wej (option no cable in the set). The connector enables a very broad scope of applications (e.g. as an anti-burglar sensor, included in the set with a limiting switch). 3) One controlled Output. Marked as Wyj (e.g. a possibility to connect additional contactor to control any electric circuit. See: page 14). To activate the operation of the chosen connector, select and highlight, in the submenu, the item "active". For joints of type T (sensors), additionally set the maximum and the minimum temperature, the occurrence of which will be signalled by an sms message. For the connector contact (Wej type) select the type of event (short circuit or opening) the occurrence of which will be signalled by an sms message. From that moment, the module will inform: For connectors of type T, on measured temperatures i.e. current, the minimum, the maximum, measured in a given cycle* also on errors of sensors. For connectors of Wej type, in the case of occurrence of selected event, that is detecting a short-circuit or opening of contact. * cycle is a period between subsequent sms messages. -8- the and the the

10 ST-65 module GSM v1.0.7 Namely: 1234 pin 9999 A message of this type will change the module authorization pin from 1234 to 9999 and will send the return sms with the current working parameters of the boiler.!!!note!!! the authorization pin is intended for changing settings and working modes of the module. It is not recommended to disclose it to third persons. 2) Activation/deactivation of alert notices: The User can, at any time, activate or deactivate sending of alert information from the module by sending to the module number a message in the format: [current pin authorization] e.g [space] [command] Off Namely: from 1234 Off A message of this type will deactivate sending of alert messages from the module. Sending messages in this format is equivalent to switching the option in the module menu: Notification Activated No or: [current pin authorization] e.g [space] [command] On Namely: 1234 On A message of this type will activate sending of alert messages from the module. Sending messages in this format is equivalent to switching the option in the module menu: Notification Activated Yes If notification is activated, the user should set the frequency of cyclical receipt of sms messages with current parameters of sensors after the alarm occurrence:

11 Notification Time of next alarm [0 300min] In the case of selecting the value 0, the alarm cyclical reminder function shall be inactive. 3) Operation mode: The user has the possibility of selecting the type of incoming information messages. In the menu Operation mode after selecting the option independently incoming sms information messages will contain only the data from active contact and temperature sensors. after selecting the option with the controller incoming sms information messages will contain data both from the boiler controller and from active contact and temperature sensors. 4) Output activation Each GSM controller by TECH company is equipped with one output, which is placed in the first place from the left, looking at the view on page 3. The user may, at any time, by means of an SMS text message, activate or deactivate this output. Three output states are possible: Constantly activated. Activated for a specified time. Deactivated. In order to activate output "Wyj" in a continuous mode, send a message in the format: [pin authorization] [W] [value] e.g W 1 [;] ;

12 ST-65 module GSM v1.0.7 Namely: 9999 W1; Message of this type will activate outputs "W" in continuous operation mode. In order to activate output "W" in time-limited mode, send a message in the format: [pin authorization] [W] [value] e.g W 1 [space] [duration] 30 [;] ; Namely: 9999 W1 30; Message of this type will activate outputs "W" for 30 minutes; In order to deactivate output "W", send a message in the format: [pin authorization] [W] [value] e.g W 0 [;] ; Namely: 9999 W1; Message of this type will deactivate outputs "W" in a continuous mode. NOTE!!! It is not possible to switch output "Wyj" to the operation mode of the short-circuit sensor!!! (in that case it is possible to damage the output)

13 5) Change and activation of emergency numbers. Entering emergency numbers. The user can, at any time, change the alarm number. The change can be performed by means of an SMS message or from the menu of module ST-65 GSM. The user can, at any time, change the "authorization pin" by sending a message to the module number in the format: [pin authorization] e.g [n] [value] [;] n 1 ; Namely: 9999 N1; The messages of this type will change the first authorization number to the telephone number from which the user has sent the SMS message, and will send back an sms with controller working parameters. Sending a message of this type is equivalent to a change in the menu of module ST-65: GSM settings Phone number +1 <<<<<<<<<<<<or + 2 <<<<<<<<<<<< Where, by means of up/down buttons, we select the telephone number of our choice, with the Menu button we begin editing the selected phone number. The editing is divided into two stages: Editing the number, where, by means of up/down buttons, we change a particular number character. With the Menu button, we move to another character. After entering the proper phone number, we press the EXIT button. The next stage is activating the number with up/down buttons, we select whether the number is to be notified about alerts (Activate or deactivate). If the telephone number differs from the number introduced, the user is asked to confirm the changes

14 ST-65 module GSM v1.0.7 Recharging Fees for sending an sms are collected in accordance with the current price list of a given operator. It should be remembered to recharge the SIM card or to pay the subscription. Available funds on the card can be controlled after logging in on the website of the GSM network operator. 15 VIII. SAMPLE INSTALLATION Module ST-65 is connected with the boiler controller by means of a four-core cable RS232 with plugs, type RJ (phone plug). Optionally, there is a possibility to buy and connect additional elements (Relay, Contact and Temperature sensors)

16 ST-65 module GSM v1.0.7 IX. Battery replacement: (in the case of damage or loss of utility properties) Module ST-65 GSM is equipped with a Li-ion Battery. It is accepted to replace the battery only with the one which meets the below specification. Incorrect inserting of the battery can cause damage to the battery or device. Specification: Type: 1044 Capacity: 600mAh Voltage: 3.7V Built-in PCB protection against excessive discharging, overcharging or shortcircuit. Dimensions: diameter 10.04mm, length 46.75mm (+/-0.3mm) NOTE! During replacement, pay special attention to polarization. The battery should be used only in accordance with its intended use. Never use a battery which is damaged or waste. Short-circuit of the poles is not accepted. This can take place accidentally. Clamp short-circuit can cause damage to the battery or to the device connected to it. Disposing of waste batteries and accumulators (used in EU member countries and in other European countries having their own collection systems). Never throw a battery into the fire! Waste batteries should be obligatorily sent for recycling or disposed of, according to the local regulations. It is not allowed to throw a battery to municipal waste containers. Care for the natural environment is of primary importance for us. The awareness that we manufacture electronic devices obligates us to practice environmental-friendly disposal of used elements and electronic equipment. As a result, the company has received a registry number assigned by the National Inspector of Environmental Protection. The symbol of a crossed out rubbish bin on a product means that the product must not be thrown out to ordinary waste bins. By segregating waste intended for recycling, we help protect the natural environment. It is the user's responsibility to transfer waste electrical and electronic equipment to the selected collection point for recycling of waste generated from electronic and electrical equipment
