7 Preface Preface Document purpose and audience This document lists the minimum hardware, software prerequisites and suppted products f installing and running the HPE Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 software. Only products running the suppted operating system versions with the specified prerequisites are eligible f suppt from Hewlett Packard Enterprise. By default, any unspecified products operating system versions not listed in this document are considered to be unsuppted. If unspecified combinations of products and operating systems are configured to operate with the Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 solution, HPE will not suppt them guarantee that they will wk crectly that they do not negatively affect its operation. Product overview Insight RS is a software solution that enables reactive and proactive remote suppt to improve the availability of suppted servers, stage systems, and other devices in your data center. Insight RS relies on several HPE components and communication between various software applications within the customer enterprise and between the customer enterprise and HPE to deliver suppt services. Software components may be installed on the Hosting Device on monited devices depending on their purpose. Insight RS can be used on its own can be integrated with HPE Systems Insight Manager (SIM). 15 What is new with Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 Patch release Patch adds the below features: Windows Server 2016 monited device suppt Insight RS can properly discover and classify monited devices powered by Windows Server 2016, including HPE ProLiant and Apollo servers. HPE Data Center URL Update improvements The URL used by Insight RS to register, submit incidents, collections and retrieve contract and warranty infmation is updated to point to the HPE data center. This improvement provides better feedback to the Insight RS user on the update process in case the procedure fails. Set of fixes f top urgent defects Fixes f top priity defects, such as the Daylight Savings Time issue identified last October. Patch release All users are encouraged to install the latest patch but this general release patch is of special interest to NonStop users to resolve an issue f failure of return notification of successful periodic event transmissions. This patch includes all capabilities from Insight RS 7.7 Patch as well as the resolution f the defect listed below. It can be installed directly on the base 7.7 release on top of 7.7 Patch Patch adds the below defect fix: After installing Insight RS 7.7 Patch , although periodic events (not hardware failure events) are successfully transmitted to Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), the return notification from the Insight RS client to OSM of the successful transmission does not occur. This causes a notification from OSM that the periodic transmission has failed. Note that this issue only impacts notification regarding periodic events. Hardware failure events are not impacted by this issue. Patch release All users are encouraged to install the latest patch as it provides fixes f a significant set of identified defects since the release of patch This patch includes all capabilities from Insight RS 7.7 patches and as well as the resolution of identified defects since the last release. It can be installed directly on the base 7.7 release on top of 7.7 patches This patch is available through Insight RS Software Updates in the Insight RS Console. 16 Overview Overview This document is the Release Notes f the Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 software, which is a remote suppt solution that is scalable to meet your needs and all of the capabilities and product coverage found in Insight Remote Suppt Standard. See "Updating existing Insight RS installations" on page 110 f me details. Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 suppts HPE servers, stage, and netwking devices, providing you with the following features and benefits: Automatically discovers and checks devices on your netwk to be monited ahead of the installation Installed on your Windows Hosting Device VMware, Citrix Hyper-V virtual guest and easily configured to monit your environment Quicker and easier to install than any of the previous versions of Insight Remote Suppt Scalable to suppt up to 3,500 devices (see Number of Monited Devices suppted section f details) 24x7 real-time hardware event moniting and secure Internet event submission help you identify and prevent potentially critical problems f your environment Automatic service request submission saves time moniting and repting issues Intelligent analysis of issues provides faster restation of your monited devices to operational status Collection of configuration infmation from your devices to help HPE resolve problems me quickly and accurately. Note, no business infmation is collected and the data is managed accding to the HPE Data Privacy policy HPE your Authized Channel Partner can propose recommendations that may improve your environment if you give HPE specific permission to do so Optional, integration into HPE Systems Insight Manager and HPE Insight Online is available Retains all configurations during upgrade f existing Insight RS customers (see "Updating existing Insight RS installations" on page 110 f details) Insight RS Console and user documentation localized into ten languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Brazilian Ptuguese, Russian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Kean Insight RS checks every device's warranty and contract to make sure it has a valid HPE warranty contract. If a device has no HPE warranty contract, the moniting health indicat in the Insight RS Console will be red. If this is red, then no service events will be analyzed sent to HPE. F customers who require integration with SAP Solution Manager HPE Operations Manager, Insight RS can fward service events to other management applications when service events are sent to HPE. F me details about Insight RS, see Product architecture Insight Remote Suppt leverages a distributed architecture that is divided into two types of systems: Hosting Device and Monited Device. Hosting Device: This is a Windows ProLiant server Windows virtual guest on a VMware, Citrix Hyper-V virtual machine that hosts the Insight Remote Suppt application and initiates all central remote HPE Insight Remote Suppt 7.7: Release Notes Page 16 of 113

17 Overview suppt operations. This includes the collection of events and configuration infmation from the monited devices, and transmission of this infmation securely to HPE f fast and effective problem resolution. Monited Device: These are the suppted hardware devices that are monited f hardware events and from which configuration infmation is collected. The events and collections are gathered by the Insight Remote Suppt application on the Hosting Device and then securely transferred to HPE. Response from HPE your preferred HPE Authized Channel Partner will be delivered in line with the warranty contractual suppt agreement purchased f the device repting a failure. What is a service event Insight RS monits a customer s hardware environment f service events that require action from the Service Provider (HPE Channel Partner and/ HPE services team) customer. F the most part, actionable service events require replacing a failed Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) in the monited hardware. Non-actionable events are filtered out, and actionable service events are fwarded to HPE. Insight RS monits hardware f hard failures from a maj component on the hardware such as CPU, disk, memy, and power supply, and these will trigger a service event communication to HPE. In addition, Insight RS monits hardware f soft errs, and in some instances, when the number of soft errs exceeds a specific threshold, an event is sent to HPE. Local only events such as power failures, which are non-actionable by HPE, may also appear in the Insight RS Console so that customers can resolve the issue. Further details regarding what classifies as an actionable service event is HPE confidential infmation. What access level is required You must have administrative rights to Microsoft Windows on the Hosting Device to install and configure Insight RS. F me infmation, see "Access requirements" on page 29. Imptant: The rsadmin command is a powerful tool that can be used to manage the Insight RS application. The rsadmin command is executable by any local users on the Hosting Device. HPE recommends that you restrict access to the Hosting Device to only authized users to prevent unwanted changes to the Insight RS configuration on the Hosting Device. Imptant: Insight RS requires administrat access to the monited devices. Discovery and collections require privileged access in der to retrieve infmation about the monited devices. In the search results, click Insight Remote Suppt Next Gen Software. 4. In the Most viewed solutions pane, click View all to see the solutions. Suppted Insight Remote Suppt versions The suppt policy is to suppt the current and the previous version of the Insight Remote Suppt solution and its software components. To this end, HPE strongly advises that customers always upgrade to the latest Insight Remote Suppt version and its components when made available through the embedded software update capability. 19 Installation process and prerequisites Installation process and prerequisites Installation management and software updates The latest Insight Remote Suppt software is always available f download from HPE Software Depot. All subsequent updates will continue to be managed as you have defined during installation, but can be altered through the Administrat Settings Software Updates page. HPE always recommends installing the latest software available by enabling the Automatically Download and Install option from the Automatic Update Level drop-down list to benefit from the latest features and product suppt. Content Level Updates Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 includes a feature to be able to introduce new product suppt and new intelligent analysis rules on a regular basis. These updates, where just these capabilities are updated, are known as Content Level Updates and are made available through the Administrat Settings Software Updates page. The CLU package is not a mandaty update. Only apply the CLU package if you need suppt f the devices listed here "Content Level Update " on page 12. Content Level Updates (CLUs) are provided as additional content to a current release and are always incpated into the next release. If available, Content Level Updates are automatically applied to a new installation of a release and when two several subsequent CLUs are made available, the latest version will automatically include any of the previous Content Level Updates. If you have your Automatic Update Level set to Automatically Download and Install, the CLU update will install without intervention. If you do not have the Automatically Download and Install Automatic Update Level set, you will have to manually apply the CLU update. Application Patch Known issues are addressed with an Application Patch to a current release when required via the embedded software management capability. These updates are also incpated into the next release of Insight Remote Suppt. Manual Software Updates Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 offers optional manual software updates. This is applicable f customers, who have very specific requirements f controlling the source of any software in a production environment, it is possible to download and ste a particular version of Insight Remote Suppt and disable the automatic software updates. Imptant: HPE strongly recommends that manual software updates are not enabled f any customer who does not have a legal strong audit requirement to do so, since updates enable HPE to automatically supply new software components that contain new product suppt, improved capabilities and fixes f any known issues including security. Also, manual software updates to these systems will require a re-installation of a new Software Depot image of all the components (configuration details are retained) rather than just accepting the new software made available through the embedded software management capabilities. Patch and Content Level Update versions of Insight Remote Suppt are not made available f download and install from HPE Software Depot. The intermediate updates that address known issues (Application Patch) and that add new device coverage (Content Level Updates) are only made available via the embedded HPE Insight Remote Suppt 7.7: Release Notes Page 19 of 113

20 Installation process and prerequisites software updates capability. These are included in the next version f those wishing to do manual software updates. Installation directy Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 can be installed in a location other than the default directy (C:\ drive). This includes the default location f program files, configuration files, database files, and log files. Note: Installation directies must be seen by Microsoft Windows as local drives and not netwk drives. Insight RS cannot be executed from a single shared disk by multiple computers. Multi-byte character input is fully suppted within the Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 software. If you encounter any problems during installation, view the installation log file, located in the following location: C:\ProgramData\HP\RS\LOG\rsinstall.log This is the default file location, and it will be different if you chose a different log file location during installation. Note: The C:\ProgramData folder is a hidden folder, so you may need to set your folder options to show hidden folders. Connectivity prerequisites Make sure that the crect firewall openings are configured to allow communication with HPE. Insight Remote Suppt communicates over HTTPS/443 to submit incidents to and retrieve entitlement infmation from HPE Suppt. HPE strongly recommends configuring only the alias, see Required firewall setting below. The Hosting Device requires a static IP address. Dynamic IP addresses are not suppted. Changing the static IP address of the Hosting Device after Insight RS installation is not suppted and requires reinstallation of Insight RS. Netwk Address Translation (NAT) is not suppted f communications between the Hosting Device and monited devices. To communicate with monited devices that use, the Hosting Device must have installed and enabled, and the Trap Service Startup Type must be set to Automatic. 22 Hosting Device prerequisites Hosting Device prerequisites The Insight Remote Suppt software requires that the Hosting Device is an HPE ProLiant server running Microsoft Windows, to allow the moniting of itself, since this device is critical f the management and moniting of your whole IT infrastructure. The Hosting Device can also be installed in a Windows virtual guest on a VMware, Citrix Hyper-V virtual machine on a suppted HPE ProLiant server. In addition, the Hosting Device needs to monit itself f potential problems. This requires the installation and configuration of the appropriate HPE Insight Management Agents HPE Insight Management WBEM Provider. Refer to the "HPE ProLiant G7 and earlier servers" on page 39 section f me details. Although it is not mandaty, HPE strongly recommends that the Insight Remote Suppt Hosting Device is covered by a valid warranty HPE suppt contract obligation. The Hosting Device is a critical component of this solution so keeping it in a healthy condition is of prime imptance to ensure effective moniting. The Hosting Device can monit a maximum of 3,500 devices (see "Number of Monited Devices suppted " on page 24). To monit me than 3,500 devices, you can set up multiple Hosting Devices in your environment. However, to avoid duplicate repting of events and data, make sure you do not monit the same device by multiple Hosting Devices. Operating system and hardware model suppt are specific to the Hosting Device as follows. Note that ProLiant Gen8 MicroServers are suppted as Hosting Devices. Imptant: ilo pt sharing is not suppted on a ProLiant Gen8/Gen9 Hosting Device. Imptant: ProLiant 100 Series servers, with the exception of the ProLiant G6 1x0 Series servers, are not suppted as a Hosting Device to host Insight Remote Suppt since they do not offer a diagnostic agent to monit themselves. ProLiant 1x5 series servers are not suppted as they do not have any diagnostic agent suppt to monit themselves. Minimum and recommended Hosting Device specifications The Hosting Device should be a Microsoft Windows ProLiant server that meets the following specifications in der to ensure that it perfms and is available at a high level. 23 Hosting Device prerequisites A large variety of Microsoft Windows ProLiant servers can be used as a Hosting Device f this purpose, dependent on the size of monited and managed environment. This section provides guidance that would make any particular Windows ProLiant model and configuration suitable not beyond the operating systems and hardware platfms described above. The section below provides some examples of Hosting Device server specifications compared to the number of devices that are required to be monited. The specification can be affected by a number of facts: The type and power of the Windows ProLiant server selected The number of devices monited and managed If the Hosting Device is also being used f other optional management applications (e.g. SIM) Any application sharing the same Hosting Device Hence, it is not possible to give exact advice on which specification will be required. If perfmance degradation is observed, it is likely that the server may need to be compared to the following recommendations outlined below. If problems are being encountered, you will be required to meet the minimum requirements in der to gain HPE suppt. Not meeting the minimum specification can cause the solution not to load, to stop to have significant perfmance degradation. The following tables outline the minimum and recommended Hosting Device specifications based on the results of HPE's quality assurance and perfmance testing f specific environments. Since a large variety of Windows ProLiant servers can be used as a Hosting Device and process speed alone does not indicate the power of a server, the following sizings are examples of recommended configurations accding to the size of the monited environment. Number of Monited Devices suppted This solution has been optimized to suppt up to 3,500 monited devices per Hosting Device. If you need to manage me devices then HPE strongly recommends that you leverage multiple Insight Remote Suppt installations, either on multiple physical servers installed on its own suppted virtual machine. Nmally, each physical device counts as one when calculating the overall maximum device number, e.g. a ProLiant server and its ILO 4 only count as a single device. However, there are some exceptions that need to be taken into account as listed below. The device count is based on the frequency and size of collections, and the Hosting Device resources required to gather the collections f the device type. These services are initiated when the devices register and further collections are automatically scheduled by default. These configuration collections enable the following: HPE Suppt to provide improved technical suppt. Data collections provide HPE ( your nominated HPE Authized Channel Partner) with infmation on the moniting health of each of your devices. This is displayed in Insight Online if you have chosen this option. Certain HPE Proactive services have a mandaty requirement f remote suppt moniting and collections enabled on all devices f the customer to receive all the features and service deliverables provided under the service. This means HPE is not obligated to provide delivery of proactive entitlements f disabled collections f these devices until such time as the remote suppt moniting & collection functionality is rested. Optionally, if during installation subsequently you have requested HPE your preferred HPE Authized Chanel Partner to provide recommendations that may improve your environment. As with standard suppt, Insight Remote Suppt version 7.x will attempt to discover these products as remotely monited HPE products and send infmation about failure events to HPE. However, if there are issues with the operation of the remote moniting features of Insight Remote Suppt version 7.x f these specific products, including the remote discovery the repting of failure events to HPE, then HPE will resolve such issues in a commercially reasonable manner but without guarantee of an immediate response a resolution. 101 Management platfm integration Management platfm integration HPE Systems Insight Manager Insight Remote Suppt 7.7 offers the ability to synchronize service incidents with Systems Insight Manager (SIM) through 7.6. This is enabled by configuring this option in the Integration Adapters menu. This option only suppts SIM being installed on the same Hosting Device. If SIM is installed on the Hosting Device befe installing Insight Remote Suppt, then the HPE SIM Adapter is automatically installed. If SIM was installed after installing Insight Remote Suppt, then the HPE SIM Adapter needs to be manually installed. F details, see the HPE Insight Remote Suppt Installation and Configuration Guide at Imptant: SIM and Insight RS suppt different versions of the Microsoft Windows operating system. If you intend to synchronize Insight RS with SIM, make sure the Hosting Device operating system is suppted by both SIM and Insight RS. F SIM operating system suppt, see the HPE Insight Management Suppt Matrix at Whenever there is a change in the status of a service incident, the new incident status is also updated in SIM. The most imptant incident status changes are the creation and assignment of a case (ticket) in HPE's service wkflow and the closure of the incident once it is completed. When a case is opened at HPE, the case ID is appended to the SIM event. This means that customer's IT suppt personnel can provide the case ID whenever they want to communicate with HPE. When configuring this option, you will be able to specify various synchronization options that will allow changes made in SIM to be automatically reflected in Insight Remote Suppt. 103 HPE Insight Online integration HPE Insight Online integration HPE Insight Online is an addition to the HPE Suppt Center ptal f one stop, secure access to product and HPE suppt infmation personalized to your IT environment. It is available at no additional cost as part of your warranty contractual suppt agreement with HPE. You can configure automatic integration into the HPE Insight Online ptal when installing Insight Remote Suppt subsequently, by entering your HPE Passpt ID and passwd. On login into HPE Suppt Center, within the My IT Environment view, you will automatically see all devices that are registered with Insight Remote Suppt 7.x. If all Insight Remote Suppt registered devices do not appear automatically in HPE Insight Online, it may be possible that the device was already registered to another person in your company. To see this device in your view, you need them to share transfer ownership to yourself. F details and prerequisites, please see the Getting Started with HPE Insight Online Guide at f details. Imptant: Insight Online suppts a maximum of 1,500 devices per HPE Passpt ID. When integrating with Insight Online, make sure each Insight RS installation monits no me than 1,500 devices. Imptant: When you disable your connection to Insight Online change to a different HPE Passpt account, the change takes time to be reflected in Insight Online. These errs do not affect the Insight RS functionality. This behavi is crected in the later Chrome versions. If you see these errs, HPE recommends you upgrade your Chrome browser. HPE ProLiant Gen8 servers are displayed by their serial number The HPE ProLiant Gen8 server device name may be displayed as a serial number (indicated by an S/N prefix) in the Insight RS Console in the System Name column. This will happen if remote suppt f the server is enabled while the server's operating system is not running the Agentless Management Service (AMS) is not installed and enabled. To enable the IP address to be displayed instead of the serial number, the following steps can be taken: Befe registering f Insight Remote Suppt via the ilo 4, befe initiating the discovery of the HPE ProLiant Gen8 server's ilo 4 from the Insight RS console: Ensure that the minimum suppted firmware version (1.10 later) is installed to register Insight RS through the ilo 4 Ensure that the Agentless Management Service (AMS) is enabled, and the operating system is running Ensure that the Remote Insight Board Common Language Protocol (RIBCL) credentials f the server are entered in the Insight RS Console If you have already successfully registered discovered the HPE ProLiant Gen8 server in Insight RS: Ensure that the Agentless Management Service (AMS) is enabled, and the operating system is running Ensure that the Remote Insight Board Common Language Protocol (RIBCL) credentials f the server are entered in the Insight RS Console Click on the serial number in the System Name column and then choose Discover Device. The rediscovery of the device will result in the IP address being displayed. HPE Authized Channel Partner default settings may not be retained The default HPE Authized Channel Partner Provider ID, if entered in the Hosting Device Setup Wizard, may not be retained in this version. When the installation is completed, please check in the Main Menu, select Company Infmation Channel Partner tab and re-set the infmation if it has not been retained. 105 Issues and suggested actions Service events display an increct timestamp in the Insight RS Console When viewing events and collections in the HPE Insight RS Console using a web browser, then any time displayed will convert to the time zone set in that browser. This is to ensure that the user can see the event timing using their local time zone. If there are discrepancies between the event time and the event processed time, then you should check the time and time zone setting on the monited device. If this is being set externally from a time server via DHCP, make sure that these are crectly connected and set to the appropriate time. Note, even if this issue is seen, it will not affect the efficient delivery of service by HPE an HPE Authized Service Partner as the Hosting Device time is used as a reference f service delivery. A device appears without a discovery taking place If a customer configures an diagnostic agent on a monited device with the trap destination set to the Insight RS Hosting Device, it is assumed that the intention is to have this device monited. Hence, if this device sends an trap to the Hosting Device, it will automatically initiate a discovery. Note, that default credentials are applied and you should check to make sure that event moniting and configuration collections are wking crectly f this device. Another way that a device can be discovered without Hosting Device initiation is if a customer registers an HPE ProLiant Gen8 Gen9 server f remote moniting through its il0 4 registration process. Unexpected device discovery A larger group of devices can be discovered in the following situations: When discovery settings are setup, a larger range of devices specified than expected. When Insight RS 7.7 is installed on a server that uses the same IP address as the previous server Insight RS was installed on. This happens when monited devices in the IT environment still have the trap destination /WBEM subscription in place that sends events to that IP address. When these events are sent, this will trigger a discovery and that device will appear in the Insight RS Console. Suggested action: Delete disable the devices that you don't want Insight RS to monit. Duplicate recds created in Insight Online when the same device is discovered twice Two recds can be created in HPE Insight Online f a device in the following scenarios: Scenario 1: A device is partially discovered by Insight RS, detecting OS and netwk infmation, but no serial number product number infmation. When discovered again, full infmation is discovered. Scenario 2: A device has trap fwarding set to the Hosting Device and the device was not discovered by Insight RS pri to receiving the event. 106 Issues and suggested actions Multiple location ID and partner configured In a small percentage of cases, HPE can ste me than one partner location ID f the same partner user in our backend system. In most cases, if you are a partner user, you can determine your partner location ID by logging in to the HPE Global Partner ptal. The location ID you see in the top left hand cner of the screen is your location ID. If after installing Insight Remote Suppt using this location ID you are not able to see the My Customer tab in Insight Online, then HPE Suppt can help you determine the crect location ID to use. Suggested action: Contact HPE Suppt to determine which partner location ID is active in Insight Online/Insight RS. Case infmation will be sent to the service provider listed in Insight RS f the customer. The Insight Online My Customer system will display the crect data f the partner if the partner uses the login verified by HPE Suppt. Unhealthy Moniting & even when protocols are setup crectly When Insight RS 7.7 is configured to wk with SIM, Insight RS detects all of the monited device protocols that SIM has detected. An issue can occur when these protocols are not installed configured crectly on the device the protocols are not valid f use with Insight RS. In these cases, Insight RS displays a failed unhealthy status in the Moniting & section of the Insight RS Console, even though the protocols are not being used by Insight RS. Suggested action: To wk around this issue, do not select the Automatically sync new/deleted credentials from HPE SIM check box in the HPE SIM Adapter. Service Events are not displayed on the SIM All HPE Service Events page When the HPE SIM Adapter is installed, you have the ability to fward service events from Insight RS to SIM. When both SIM and Insight RS are installed on the same Hosting Device and SIM is upgraded, no service events are displayed on the SIM All HPE Service Events page. The cause of this is the XML file that controls the query to display events on the SIM All HPE Service Events page is crupted because SIM overwrites the XML file that Insight RS installs. Suggested action: Use the Insight RS Software Updates to uninstall and then reinstall the HPE SIM Adapter. If the HPE SIM Adapter is at the latest available version, a complete uninstall and reinstall will resolve the issue. If the HPE SIM Adapter is not at the latest available version, a simple upgrade will resolve the issue. Cannot log on to the Insight RS Console as an Administrat You are using a domain user account and this account is a member of a domain group which in turn is a member of the domain Administrats group. Additionally, User Account Control (UAC) is turned on. F example: HPE Insight Remote Suppt 7.7: Release Notes Page 106 of 113

107 Issues and suggested actions You cannot log on to the Insight RS Console with user MYDOMAIN\myusername and, MYDOMAIN\myusername is a member of the group MYDOMAIN\specialusers. MYDOMAIN\specialusers has been added to the MYDOMAIN\Administrats group. User Account Control (UAC) is turned on. Suggested action: To wk around this issue, any of the following actions enable you to log on as an Administrat: Turn off User Account Control (UAC) on the Hosting Device Add your user account to a local Administrats group on the Hosting Device. F example, add MYDOMAIN\myusername to the local HostingDevice\Administrats group Add your user account directly to the domain Administrats group. F example, add MYDOMAIN\myusername to the MYDOMAIN\Administrats group directly. Create a new local Administrats account and use that to log on to the Hosting Device. The upgrade process may request the reboot HPRSMain can fail to start after the first reboot after an upgrade. Suggested action 1. Open the Control Panel, and navigate to Programs and Features. Note what version of Insight RS is installed to verify that the crect version is listed. 2. In Windows Expler, navigate to the directy where the Insight RS installer file was downloaded. If Software Updates was used in the upgrade, the kit is located at %HP_RS_DATA%SWM\LANDINGZONE. 3. Rename the file from.exe to.zip. 4. Right-click on the.zip file and select Extract all. Select a directy use the default. 5. Open a Command Prompt window as Administrat and navigate to the extraction directy. 6. Run the following command to repair the installation: msiexec /f hprs7kit.msi /lv "%HP_RS_LOG%\hprs_recovery.log" 7. This process may continue without interruption, but it is possible that the below dialog will appear. If it does, then provide the path where you extracted the.zip in step If you want to view the recovery log file, once the repair operation completes, open a Windows Expler window and enter %HP_RS_LOG% in the address bar. St the files by date modified, and you should see the recovery log file near the top. 9. Delete the following to clean up disk space: a. The iginal hprs_recovery.log file from %HP_RS_LOG% b. The entire directy where you unpacked the.exe in step 4. The recovery operation is complete.
