4 COURSE STRUCTURE Course Overview This course is designed for those who have attended the NORBAIN Academy Networking Foundation Course and wish to enhance their knowledge of IP- CCTV Surveillance systems. The course focuses on vendor tools including camera configuration and bandwidth calculation software, Video Management Systems, Client and Server platforms, Network Video Recorders, Centralised and Distributed network architecture. Course Delivery The IP-CCTV Advanced Course is delivered over one day and is workshop based using slide presentations, the lecture is accompanied by both activity based guided practice and questionnaire sessions. Breaks are offered throughout the day (morning break 15 mins, lunch break 30 mins and afternoon break 15 mins), lunch will be provided (please advise us if there are any special dietary requirements). The course will conclude with a final practical assessment. A certificate of completion will be provided for course attendance and also a pass certificate for the final practical assessment.

5 Part 2: Delegate Learning Outcomes OBJECTIVES Learning Outcome Upon completion of the NORBAIN Academy IP-CCTV Advanced Course delegates will be able to demonstrate understanding of the following subjects: Centralised and Distributed Network Architecture Bandwidth Calculations and System Configuration Tools Network Video Recorders Client and Server Platform Applications Video Management Systems Assessment Method During the course delegates will be assessed upon their understanding of each of the above subjects by being given practical exercises (guided by the instructor) or an online questionnaire (where they will be encouraged to work with other delegates). At the end of the course there will be a final practical examination. Outcomes Criteria Each delegate will be able to put into practice what they have learnt and demonstrate a technical understanding and ability to work with advanced network based surveillance solutions, they will understand what hardware may be required to design and implement these, they will also be able to communicate effectively with end users, administrators and engineering managers in order to ensure successful system integration.

7 Part 4: Course Policies ATTENDANCE Attending Class All delegates are expected to attend all subject lectures as listed on the course subjects outline and schedule above. Attendance certificates will only be issued to those who participate in all lectures on the day.
