2 Secure Gateway Services Portfolio Secure Gateway Services is a network-based suite of advanced data communications services that deliver a broad range of features to Verizon s private network customers. Secure Gateway Retail and Remote Office: A wide area network service that provides secure, low-cost, always-on connectivity for small office/home office and remote office locations. This service can be used as the primary site connection or as back-up to the customer s primary network. Secure Gateway Mobile User: Provides secure, encrypted, remote access for a customer s mobile workforce and remote employees and allows these users to securely connect to corporate data resources hosted on computers within their company s private network (Verizon Private IP, Frame Relay and ATM). The service can also provide a network-based dial back-up solution (PPP/L2TP) for customer sites connected to Verizon s Private IP or Frame Relay services. 2

3 Secure Gateway Services Portfolio (cont d) Secure Gateway Firewall: Provides employees with secure access to the Internet from customer locations connected to private networks via a network-based firewall. Secure Gateway-Firewall is available with ATM, Frame Relay, and Private IP. Secure Gateway Firewall Access bundles access with a stateful firewall to help protect against a range of network security threats. 3
