10 2 Instalation 2.5 Start up The IPefono has the (mask ) configured from the manufacturer in order to make the first connection easy. Then you must configure your PC with another IP address in the X network. Then you can follow one of the next models: Connect the PC and the IPefono to an Ethernet switch. Connect the IPefono to the PC using a UTP crossed cable. Then type in your Web Browser and you will access to the configuration (see Figure 6): IPefono hostname or IP address FIGURE 6. HOW TO ACCESS TO THE CONFIGURATION PAGES USING THE WEB BROWSER The PC must be able to access to the device IP network. Please modify the PC IP address if needed. 6 User Manual. IPefono v1.0

11 2 Instalation Assigning a new IP address Click on the Network link (Figure 6) and the click on the address(0) link (Figure 7). FIGURE 7. 13 3 Operation 3.1 Operation modes The IPefono is intended to establish voice communications through IP Networks. When you press the call button, the device sends a call request to the address configured in the Destination SIP URL (see FIGURE 20). If the destination is out of service, then the device tries to call to the Alternative SIP URL address. If this is also out of service, then it plays the message configured in the No response from the Helpdesk parameter (FIGURE 22). The Service Call Push button calls to the SIP address configured in Service SIP URL. Once the communication is established, the device can operate in two modes: Push to talk. Each time you want to speak from the device to the destination you must to keep the push button pressed. Open Conversation. You can speak and the device controls the transmission depends on its configuration. The device lets to read and to control its inputs and outputs. 3.2 Features Echo supressor The voice transmission in the device is cut off when this transmits an acoustic signal by the speakers. So, the remote speaker won t listen itself when it speaks Noise supressor When the device is playing background noise, it can cut it off in order to avoid the user listens it. User Manual. IPefono v1.0 9

14 3 Operation 3.3 Audio player The device can play pre-recorded messages (see section 5.5 Custom announcements ). You can create the message files with a PC, a microphone and recording software (like Gold Wave). The files must be generated in wav format, A or u law PCM codification. The messages can be played using your Web Browser, just typing in the address bar the next text: FIGURE 10. PLAYING THE FILE PELIGRO.WAV 10 User Manual. IPefono v1.0

15 4 Configuration 4.1 Starting the configuration The IPefono configuration file is a text file (.ini ) that can be edited with any text editor and uploaded after, or you can use a Web Browser. You won t need any extra software in order to perform the configuration. This chapter explains the IPefono configuration issues using the Web Browser interface. This interface is intended to make the configuration easy to the user, providing friendly menus and help information about each parameter. The new configuration will begin to work once the device is rebooted ( Reset device command). You can save and apply the configuration at the same time choosing the Save and apply configuration Listing configuration The List configuration option shows you all the configuration parameters in the system. The configuration parameters are variables grouped in a tree structure. You can choose any parameter writing the name of the variable in the tree structure. Each node has a name, so you must indicate the name of each node until you arrive to the parameter you want. The variables can be single tables. If you want to access to a single value in a table, you must indicate the row between parenthesis. The values are numeric or text strings. Sometimes, depending on the parameter, you can use a text instead the numeric value. For example Serial(0).baudrate = bps means the same that Serial(0).baudrate = , or Network.bAutoConfiguration = FALSE the same that Network.bAutoConfiguration = 0. Here you will find an example of a current listed configuration: Main.type = IPefono Main.name = IPefono Main.description=IP network comunicator Main.version = Main.username = Main.password = Network.macAddress = 005EE5: Network.bAutoConfiguration = FALSE Network.address(0).ip = Network.address(0).mask = Network.address(1).ip = Network.address(1).mask = Network.ipGateway = Network.ipDnsServer = Network.domainName = CONECTAIP Network.portTelnet = 23 Network.portWeb = 80 Network.portFtp = 21 Network.portDNS = 53 Network.portNTP = 123 Serial(0).baudrate = bps Serial(0).stopBits = 1 bit Serial(0).flowControl = no Serial(0).parity = none Serial(0).dataBits = 8 bits Serial(0).mode = console Serial(0).Tunnel.ip = Serial(0).Tunnel.port = 2022 Serial(0).Tunnel.protocol = TCP Serial(0).Tunnel.packetTime = 50 Serial(0).Tunnel.expirationTime = 60 User Manual.
