Appendix: Access Control feature ip Access with Telephone Keypad, has the feature of access control, through entrance code dialing, up to 999 users. NOTE: This feature described bellow corresponds to the stand alone feature, independently from external data base. When the user wants to enter, he dials, as first key (from idle situation), password prefix's key, then his user number, and, finally, his access password. Password prefix: * or # (according to settings). In the examples we will use * (asterisk). User number: 1, 2 or 3 digits (according to the setting of the element Digits quantity for access control in submenu Keys and Buttons Programming). In the examples, 2 digits will be used: U Password: 4 digits CCCC Administrator s default password is: 1234 User number 0 (00 or 000 according to digits quantity setting) corresponds to administrator, who does not enter, but does actions such as registering, erasing, and modifications of users. Registering of new users and/or password change Administrator dials: *00 CCCC 1 UU NNNN Where CCCC is administrator s password, UU new user number (or whoever wants to change it s password) and NNNN is the new user s password. NOTE 1: If the user dials UU = 00, the administrator can change it s own password. NOTE 2: If the user chooses his own password, we recommend the administrator does not look the dialed password. 4 The submenu: ip Access Status contains the following elements Introduction The red colour of the value indicates that it is NOT possible to change it by programming. It means that it is a read only value. Welcome to SURiX Door phone products' users network! The product you have purchased, is part of an importat line of SURiX S.R.L products and communication systems for homes, offices, multifamily systems for buildings and gated communities, and nurse call for hospitals. MAC Address MAC Address of IP Access (useful to search it on LAN or ask for for purchasing new feature licenses). General Description The SURiX IP Access is an intelligent and hands free IP door phone, that is connected as an IP PBX IP extension, either on local networks or broad works. It has 2 contact relays used to open up to two doors, and for other applications (turn on/off lights, heating, etc.), from any place. The programming of the SURiX IP Access is done through an internal web page (web-server), which is accessible from any standard internet browser. If you are not in a network environment, you can connect an UTP crossover patch cord. Busy (in call) If the IP Access was, at this moment, calling or receiving a call, the value will be On. Otherwise, if it is not in use, it will be Off. General scheme that shows IP Access use on a local network and as a remote device via Internet. Ana. Tel. Line Ana. Tel. R IP PBX Internet Ethernet (LAN local network) R 2 The submenu Software Upgrade contains the following elements: IP Phone Remote IP Access = Router Relay 1 Open (Manually) Relay 2 Open (Manually) They show the relays' situation. NOTE: This submenu window does not refresh automatically. You have to refresh the webpage in your browser to update values. R IP Phone R Jumpers It shows (in graphic way) the connection state of mini jumpers (connected or not). local IP Access New version: XXX (file ipax.xxx) Firmware for upgrading is located in the file with the name ipax.xxx, where XXX are 3 digits from 000 to 999. This field should be set with 3 digits according to the new version that is being installed to IP Access. TFTP server IP Address The file with firmware to be uploaded, should be located in a TFTP server, and its address set in this field. Upgrade Status Read only item that shows if there is an upgrade in execution. 15

Opening Door 1 command Opening Door 2 command This is the command that the user who answered the Door Phone call, dials in his telephone to open the door (activate or close the relay) temporarily (it means that after programmed time, it will be released automatically) Opening Door 1 manual command Opening Door 2 manual command It is the command that the user who answered the Door Phone call, dials in his telephone to open the door (activate or close the relay). With this command, the relay will not be released automatically after programmed time, but it has to be manually released with the Command for Manually closing Door. According to the purchased product. Model: Flush mount Command for Manually closing Door 1 Command for Manually closing Door 2 It is the command that the user who is in call with the Door Phone call, dials in his telephone, in order to release the relay. In the submenu: Passwords you can see the following elements to program: Remove the screw from the bottom plastic part (the picture shows the external mounting box). Slide down the front cover of the product and separate the cover of the wallbox. ATTENTION: The wallbox has a mounting orientation, do not reverse it. The wallbox has weakened areas for wires entrance; drill the correct one. Set the box to the wall into the hole made to accommodate it. Enter the power and UTP wires into the box. Connect the wires to the connectors on the circuit (see next section). Reset the cover to the wallbox, beginning with fitting the top screw and, gently pushing upwards, put the screw of the bottom plastic part. Model: Surface mount Administrator Password It is the password necessary to enter in programming mode. If it gets lost, you can enter the programming mode, and follow the procedure described in the Programming password or IP address forgotten) item. IP Access login password in IP PBX Is the password with which the ip Access registrates at IP PBX if registration is required. This item can be also programmed in the Communication Parameters menu. 14 Remove the screw from the bottom plastic part. Remove the bottom plastic part by sliding it down. Separate the front cover of the external plastic mounting box. The hobbles of the box that lock the cover are quite hard. If necessary, make pressure between the box and the front cover with the same screwdriver used to remove the screw. Attach the box to the wall using the fixing holes. Enter the power and UTP wires into the box. Connect the wires to the connectors on the circuit (see next section). Reset the cover to the wallbox, beginning with refitting the front cover in the box and then, put the screw of the bottom plastic part. 3

6 In the submenu: Timers you will see the following elements to program: Connection Put the wire to Ethernet in the RJ45 connector Connect a power source of 12 Vac/dc - 1 A at CN1 terminal block (also indicated 12 VAC/DC). The polarity of the connection is indistinct. Or just UTP if there is an injector PoE in the other end of the cable If there is an open door circuit (with external power), pass this circuit through the CN10 or CN11 terminal blocks (indicated DOOR1 and DOOR2), they are normal open contacts, that closes when it receives the corresponding signal. Relays can also work as normal closed connecting properly mini jumpers behind the terminal blocks 3. NOTE: the separated power supplies drawed in the diagram is just for clarity, but everything can be supplied from the same power supply LOCK DOOR OPENNER TERMINAL BOARD 12 VAC/DC 12 3 DOOR 2 Power supply MIC. In the submenu: Relays programming you can see the following elements to program: BUTTON 2 BUTTON 1 Relay 1 mode Relay 2 mode Activation modes of relay, once received activation order. The different values are: Programming The ip Access has a internal web server that response in the 8085 port. The programming of configurable parameters of the ip Access can be done through a web browser (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc). With the initial boot, the ip Access has the IP address , so, to access to programming, enter the following address in the browser address bar: NOTES: 1. If your network does not include those address ranges, you can switch, momentarily, the computer configuration that will program the product, removing DHCP and writing a fixed address in the address range of the ip Access DHCP and writing a fixed address in the address range of the ip Access. 2. If you want to program it out of a network environment, you can do it, taking into account the address (previous item) and, also, installing a crossover patch cord UTP between the computer and the ip Access. 4 Normal mode (door opener) The relay closes when remote order is received. It is the regular functioning mode. Alarm NA mode The relay closes for the programmed time, when a key or button is pressed. Alarm NC mode The relay opens for the programmed time, when a key or button is pressed. The last 2 modes are complementary and they are used to activate an alarm and/or camera when the IP Access starts being operated by a visitor (if it is with 1 push-button, it will match the call; if it is with telephone keyboard, it will be activated when he starts to dial). 13

7 IMPORTANT: Some parameters have to be programmed in the camera: Video format: H.264 Maximum bitrate: 156 Kbps Video resolution: QCIF, CIF, VGA (if it does not exceeds 256 Kbps) Finally, after programming, the Register button should be pressed. The IP Access will respond with the programming password entry screen: In the submenu: Echo Control Settings you can see the following elements to program: The On Line Manual button is available in all menus and (if you have internet access), when pressed, opens a new web window with access to this manual in pdf format. You can download to the computer hard disk or watch it on line. The factory default password is: sx1234 Programming password or IP address forgotten Predefined Modes Echo control can be disabled (Off) or preconfigured for different scenaries: Allow to adjust functioning parameters with more precision; however the use of predefined modes is preferred. a. Turn on the equipment b. Place a mini-jumper in position 1 (the farthest from RJ-45 connector possible). c. Turn on the equipment d. Enter in the URL programming with the password: sx123 e. Modify the desired programmed parameters f. Turn off the equipment g. Remove the jumper between the contacts h. Turn on the equipment The elements: Speaker Level Microphone Level Speaker Attenuation Microphone Attenuation 4. If the programming has been changed or it is unknown, follow the next restart sequence, that allows to work with the factory default settings: IP address and programming password (the programmed IP values and password, remain unchanged. 8 5. Programming mode is active for about 10 minutes. If this time is exceeded without entering commands, the product will exit automatically the programming mode and you will have to re-enter the password to program again. Once in Programming mode, the product shows the following screen Main Menu: IP port of IP PBX Port number at which the IP PBX will listen communication requirements of ip Access Bottom of range of UDP ports Top of range of UDP ports These parameters should be setted if the router of local netowork filter RTP packages by port (the standard provides that it might happen). Subnet mask Range of network addresses Gateway IP address If there is an intermediate gateway DNS IP address IP address of domain name server, who will provide the numerical value of IP address conrresponding to (verbose) domain name of IP PBX IP PBX domain Hosted IP PBX or broadworks sistems and some IP PBX, even they are in local network (for example 3CX), needs that domain name or IP address are inserted in call fields. In those cases, fill this item with name or IP address (same data that was set in item IP Address or domain of IP PBX) Time out (in minutes) SIP registration Is the negotiated registration time with the IP PBX. IMPORTANT: is strongly recommended not to increase this value. In the submenu: Video parameters you can see the following elements to program: ip Access can make video calls, through linking to an IP camera which must be in the same LAN if ip Access, supports RTSP protocol and generates video H.264. For that, some settings about the camera must be programmed to ip Access, as IP address, port and brand of the camera. NOTE: The functioning can vary according the brand of the camera. Camera Registered This read only item, shows if ip Access has established the link with the camera in order to make video calls. Enable video camera Enables or disables this feature Camera IP address It must be static (camera must not enable DHCP service) IP Port of camera Usually 5554 The main menu shows the parameters that most often use to be modified 6 Select the camera to be used There are several models and brands of know cameras which features are preprogrammed in ip Acces. If your camera is not in this list, contact our technical support. 11

9 In submenu : Comunication Parameters you can see the following elements to program: All menus work the same way: they are tables with two types of rows: Elements to programm Links to others sub-menus The Elements to programm shows, on yellow background, the description of the element to programm and next column (in the same row), with link format, the actual value of the parameter. Clicking on this link, you can see the screen that allow reprogramming. For example: Parameters that will be used by IP Access for the communication. My IP address (ip Access) Is the IP address that will have the IP Access for all IP communications. Its value by default is If you change this address, the following accesses to programming webserver, will have direct to: My UDP SIP Port Is the UDP port number that use the ip Access for the SIP protocol. Login password of ip Access in IP PBX Is the password that uses ip Access to log at the IP PBX, if its registration is required (this item can be also programmed in menu Passwords) My extension # (ip Access) It is the extension number of ip Access at the IP PBX (if it is connected to an IP PBX) IP Address or domain of IP PBX IP address (numeric or verbose form) of IP PBX. If the address is in numeric form, please, check that addresses of ip Access and IP PBX are in the same addresses range. If IP PBX is hosted, it is possible to set this his domain name (verbose form, for example: and ip Access will solve the IP address of the IP PBX asking to DNS server. NOTE: See below the description of field IP PBX Domain. As a general rule, the data of both fields are the same. 10 In the text box (or drop-down list), you can: Write (or select) the new value and press the Program button (you will see that the maximum and minimum values are specified), or Press the Back button to return to previous menu, or Press the Main Menu button to return to the main menu. Links to other menus lead to submenus of elements to program (grouped by concept). NOTE: In all cases, if the value of the elements is in red, it means that they are read only elements and it is not possible to change/program them. In the Main Menu submenu, you will see the following elements to be programmed: Output volume (speaker) Input volume (microphone) They are the volume levels used during a call. The reccommended levels are 7 or 8. Auto-answering of incoming call If this feature is enabled, when the IP Access receives a call, it answers it automatically. Otherwise, it issues a ringing sound and any key can be pressed to answer. 7

10 Tone at beggining of call When the IP Access receives an incoming call and automatically answers it, it beeps three times to indicate a call has begun. This feature can be disabled for certain remote silent monitoring applications. NOTE: Verify that your country's law does not consider this as privacy violation. At the bottom, you will see two buttons that appear only in the main menu: REBOOT: Restart the equipment (IP Access address should be manually reloaded in the browser). Follow this procedure to allow the product to reload the IP address, if it was modified. Except for IP addresses, the rest of the parameters are immediately changed on the product when it is programmed. RESTORE: Reloads all factory default settings (except for the IP address). The action of keys * (asterisk) and # (pound) is programmable in the same way as keys 0 to 9 but with the adding of this actions: Clear current dialing During any moment of dialing: number of extension o access password, dialing can be cancelled pressing this key. During a call, IP Access hangs up. Access password prefix If this key is pressed as first dialing key, the IP Access will know that the user does not want to make a call but enter through access control key dialing. In the Keys and buttons programming you will see the following elements to program: The action of buttons is programmable in the same way as keys 0 to 9 plus this actions: Digit number for access control user User identification, according to number of users in the system: 1: 9 users: 1 to 9 (0: administrator) 2: 99 users: 01 to 99 (00: administrator) 3: 999 users: 01 to 999 (000: administrator) Manual Door Opening Is it useful to connect an external button (tipically in recepcion desks). When this button (external to IP Access) is pressed, door is opened. It does not matter if it is in the middle of a call or not. Maximum number of dialed digits IP Access can originate a call in three different ways: All of the above, is programmed with the Action of Key X or Button X element to program. Dial to an extension number (if it is connected to an IP PBX) Call directly to an IP address, or Call to an extension number dialed by user (as in a common telephone) In the last case, the ip Access ends the dialing by time (4 seconds) or when the maximum number of dialed digits is reached (which corresponds to the extensions numbering plan of the IP PBX). Action of key X or button X The ip Access can be equipped with: Telephone keypad Simple buttons (1 or 2) Telephone keypad and simple buttons The telephone keypad has the keys 0 to 9, * (asterisk) and # (pound). The action of keys 0 to 9 is programmable in the same way: Digit Generates a one digit dialing (as in a common telephone) which will serve to compose an extension number. After programming the action of the key or button, the element Prog Key X / Button X is programmed; this determines which digit, extension number or IP address is issued when this key or button is pressed (in case of Button programmed as Manual Door opening, which relay is activated when the button is pressed. Remember that relay no 2, may work as normal open or normal closed, depending the connection of a mini jumper in PCB). For programming of the dialing digits, the values 0 to 9 are used to numbers, 10 is used for * (asterisk) and 11 for # (pound) if this dialing is required. Call to extension Shoots the call directly (one touch) to an extension number. Call to an IP address Shoots the call directly (one touch) to an IP address. 8 9
