13 INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1 Select designs Examine the stitch-outs for filled designs with no open places. Design 1 would work well. Design 2 would not well unless the flower stamens were trimmed away. Design 1 Design 2 STEP 2 Trim designs Use a good pair of detail scissors to trim away the excess fabric close to, but not catching, the outline stitching of the design. If the fabric is a different color than the edge of the design, or the fabric it will be attached to, use a permanent marker or permanent fabric marker (those won t run) to color the exposed fabric on the edge of the embroidery. 14 INSTRUCTIONS STEP 3 Fuse and Seal Fuse and Seal is a double-sided fusible that has a paper backing. The fuse is permanent and may be laundered without detaching from the fabric. Follow the instructions on the back of the label for perfect results! STEP 4 Prep designs for placement Once the Fuse and Seal has been applied to the back of the embroidery, remove the paper to expose a shiny fusible surface. STEP 5 Select garment Choose a garment (hat, onesie, bag, etc.), that would benefit from embellishment, such as this tired denim jacket. 15 INSTRUCTIONS STEP 6 Audition designs With your garment on a flat, ironing surface, audition the designs and their placement until satisfied with the look. Note: It doesn t matter if the placement is on a seam or the tip of a corner since it doesn t require hooping! STEP 7 Attach to garment Cover the designs with a traditional press cloth or piece of cotton fabric to protect the threads. Press with a medium iron until the embroidery sticks to the fabric. It just needs to be held in place, not completely fused. Note: This step may be eliminated if using Expert Embroidery TearAway Tape. Before taping, test tape on an inside seam of the fabric to make sure no residue is left when heated by the iron. STEP 8 Final fusing Turn garment to wrong side and fuse the embroidery patch from the back. This way the heat of the iron can reach the glue to fuse it permanently in place. Let cool and check to make sure all parts of the design are completely adhered to the fabric. It is a violation of Copyright law to make and distribute copies of electronic designs or artwork.
